    Thx for the vid. I have an older yellow root8cyclone model & still working.
    I also have an airmuscle like this for free. The only thing missing is the cap by the handle. Not a big deal really. Works great. Love Dyson products.😉

    Yes when you hit the buttons for different carpet settings . the brushroller is the only part that moves up and down

    DC28 Airmuscle was specially designed for the US market because regular Dyson models had too weak brushrolls compared to the typical US uprights. DC28 Airmuscle has much more aggressive brushroll than the other Dyson models.

      I agree with as that’s what Dyson told. Because American carpets always tend to be that much thicker than ours here in uk. The air muscle was designed just for USA market

      Actually the DC17 was the unit designed specially for the US market as it was the first to have a dense brushroll better suited to our cut pile carpets. However, the brush was far to stiff with its hard dense bristles and actually damaged many carpets and area rugs. But sense it had a separate motor driven brush and a clogged belt it was very very popular and performed very well. The DC28 was dragon next attempt at keeping a floating power nozzle but while giving users greater control or the brushroll for different carpet piles and heights. It’s still allowed the cleaner head to seal to the carpet but allowed for the actually brushroll to be pneumatically raised and lowered independently of the cleaner head. This allowed the brush to be set correctly to carpets thus eliminating concerns for damage. It still had a clogged belt design and an auto shut off Incase of entanglement like the dc17. The collection bin main cyclone was slightly revised while the smaller radix cyclones were pretty much left alone. The design of the power head was white good cause on most vacuums with height adjustment the entire cleaner head raises up to lift the roller out of the carpet. But In doing this you start to loose the suction and airflow from the carpet pile thus reducing deep soil removal from the fibers. The dc28 was one of the only vacuums to allow the cleaner nozzle to stay in complete contact with the floor surface while only raising the roller to match the carpet height. The dc17 and it’s revised and improved dc28 were the two best Dysons ever built and the only two worth owning. Everything before and after these models has been complete crap. And the DC28 did suffer from being not overly reliable. With that being said, that really only makes these two the very best vacuums of probably the second worst company to build vacuums based on what consumers say is popular. The worst vacuum being anything made by shark!

    The DC28 cyclone and bin is the same as the DC33 and the DC27(just different colors), the electric cord is also the same on all 3 vacuums. The cord is a dark iron as on the machine. 35 feet in length and terminated with a male spade in the white and a female spade on the black. Big problem DC28 is over kill on mechanical complication. The side filter is a pre motor filter, and the faucet pattern faces away from the motor. the vacuum air flows down the tube into the filter housing through the filter to the motor. again white side of side filter faces motor. the DC33 was still sold new in the USA as of the beginning of 2019. The DC28 did not last as long or well. the DC27 was less complicated and was a better machine. but the dc33 out shown them both and you can still find New In The Box Dc33 uprights. also same onboard tools for the 3 vacuums the stair tool has a longer neck to fit in its bracket. later stair tools are over 1/4" shorter in tube length.

    i used to work at a vacuum repair store and I would cringe when those came in they are notorious for the cleaner heads having to be replaced and they are a nightmare to do so, of all those classic style Dyson’s I think the DC 17 was the best it had a nice brush roller that was similar to that one and a cog belt and you could replace them both separately

    My favorite Dyson was my first one, the DC17, also made for the American market. She was a purple animal model that looked similar to that one, i called her lady Dy.

    A lot of confusion for side filter placement in side housing. Think DC07, the DC07 has a fine mesh holder and a sponge with the faucet pattern, this set up has the coarse filter getting the first flow of air and the fine mesh holder doing the final filtering. DC14, DC33 same type of filtering. From housing to coarse to fine filtering.

    My guess is the cable wasn't damaged; it was artificially swapped out on purpose and reconnected multiple times (a chain of smaller cables) to basically make the overall length longer and therefore make it reach further... i.e. It was more of a custom modification, rather than an actual repair. Hence the original lighter coloured cable actually matches the machine - they threw it in the box just for the sake of it.

    Owned this model for years til it finally gave out and got the Cinetic Big Ball Animal. I purchased mine off overstock for like $200 which compared to the original price which I think was around $700 is a pretty good deal. I was vacuuming one day and literally it started SCREAMING at me, shook violently and then started smoking. There is a huge problem with dust getting into the electrical components and destroying the single unit head. Honestly the worst design they ever made. Although I do miss having an aluminum wand compared to the now plastic ones. The new ones feel a lot cheaper.

    it's interesting to see you unbox a US exclusive dyson. it's surprising to me than there exist any dysons not offered in uk.

      @@parwaz7861 I bought one off ebay for 30GBP and had it sent to my friend in Retford. I just moved to rhode island from Florida and postal services in the US are on fire right now. Everything is slowed down including interntional post and no carrier wants to mail it to me for under 300 USD so I'll probably have to wait until late december to make it affordable

    I’ve had a problem with getting mine to tilt back. Sometimes it tilts back just fine when I put my foot down on the indicated spot but other times it just won’t tilt back. And I’ve also noticed that there always seems to be air sucking from the top red part of the handle and it doesn’t seem to be sucking from the actual vacuum part very much. Anybody know what I can do to fix this?

    How do American carpets differ from British carpets? Is it a cultural thing? Or are the British carpets metric measurements while the American are imperial measurements?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  5 років тому

      I don’t know, but how the size of a carpet is measured has nothing to do with it. In the UK carpets are priced per square meter, but they used to be priced in square yards. UK consumers tend to buy short pile carpets.

    • @Lennox1492
      @Lennox1492 5 років тому

      I think American carpets tend to be thicker or longer and the brush beater i think is designed to beat better or faster or dig deeper into the carpet.

      I got mine in 2011. I had wonderful years with it but the suction hose tore off a couple of months ago, which I don’t think should have happened for the money I bought it. I will now buy a shark NV801 because of all the reviews. My beef with the dc33 is it is very heavy and difficult to clean the brush head. I hope I helped.

    Yes we got dc07 and I have one my self brand new in box and I am only 13,I am a collector like you and I am a fan of your Chanel but to be honest I will probably never own a dc 28 but I will repair them. But still they are pretty bad machines they have many problems and I just can’t afford a lot of the parts that are needed to fix them if they are broken and it would just be a waist of money to buy a lot of the parts because by the time I bought all of the parts I could of afford a brand new one.

    To calculate wattage, the entire world uses Ohm's Law, something I learned in Jr. High, followed by the Power Formula. From Google, a 2-second search "To students of electronics, Ohm's Law (E = IR) is as fundamentally important as Einstein's Relativity equation (E = mc²) is to physicists." And then, " can be done using the power formula, which states that I = P ÷ E, where P is power measured in , I is current measured in , and E is voltage measured in volts. Thus, the power P in is equal to the current I in multiplied by the voltage V in volts."
