i was at this concert. It was in 2005. Joe had pneumonia and had to postpone the concert from new years eve/new years day to a date in april. I was bummed, but the wait was soooooooooo worth it. Best concert of my life to date. Joe is the man.
Awesome! This is one of my favorites Joe Satriani's songs. His performance live is awesome and makes the music sound much prettier than the studio version.
Two guitar instrumentalists who I love to watch and listen to the most are Jeff Beck and Joe Satriani. Because of their amazing phrasing, and brilliant melodies.
WOW!! I knew that stage looked familiar. It's Anaheim, where he did the Satriani Live! DVD. You can tell by the swirl lights on the backdrop. Same as A Cool New Way.
the only way to unlike this video is to have a brain melt because of satriani's awesomness and dropping your head to your mouse, accidentaly pressing the unlike button
@mr1wal, I actually like Bissonettes tone. Very rocky, and well, bassy. I also love him as a player. You can tell he's having a wonderful time jamming. I just love how cool he's rocking to the music. Very groovy. I like him better than Dave LaRue, but not better than Stu Hamm. Though all 3 are wonderful and I enjoy them all!
@robelinda2 exactly, its like when peeps say Vai is better, to me all he really does is try to show all the tricks he can do and loses focus on the song. Joe Satriani #1
why do people like you have to always point out what you think are mistakes? Does that make you feel better about yourself? When was the last time you wrote a song that has 176,000 views? Aint nobody lining up to see you...Joe Satriani is amazing!
@ArChAs Can I suggest you not waste your time on UA-cam then? If you want a carbon copy rendition then simply listen to the CD! The beauty of catching bands live is that it's the band's/singer's interpretation in it's rawest form...and if, as in this case, it's their own song/track, then they are perfectly entitled to play it as they feel...
Matt bissonette has the worst bass tone I have ever heard, anywhere, from garage bands to bar bands, to professional bands. And it has always been this way since he started playing with Roth back in 1988...

omg I was too!!!! it was the house of blues in Olrando right? IOlll never forgetr cus the guy behind kept spillling his beer on my legs.
Best song of the album, in my opinion...
This album is RAW genius. Where did he come up with such licks! Not mere filling bars with pointless runs
That riff starting at 1:10 gives me chills every time.
Dude me too, for over 20 years now
1:10 actualizado
Just so we’re all clear: he’s sweeping harmonics in like 4 different positions.
12th, 7th, and 5th position.
those harmonics!!! 😍😍😍
por fin se me hizo ver esta version en vivo es espectacular!!!!!!!
Tear inducing
great opener to a great album

So cool. I heard it a lot tho and it got stuck in my head lol. But I'm going to learn it. The harmonics part is magic
Это реально треть, но Джо всегда круче всех, и ни какая мышь не смеет бросить вызов, потому что знает что обосрëтся! ¡;;!!!
destructivo !!!

LOL I get it, that's good man. At first I didn't know what you were talking about but now I see.
Bad ass
Turns out there's not 2 guitars on the album version, he's just that good.
wowwwwwww :))
the only way to unlike this video is to have a brain melt because of satriani's awesomness and dropping your head to your mouse, accidentaly pressing the unlike button
Even in 240p am I jonesing.
He's and alien from outerspace! Satch shreds!
joe messes up at 2:52 to 2:57 but it still sounds freaking awesome!
Satriani Rules
Is this from a DVD??? I haven't heard of it but if it is I wanna get it:) This rocks!!!
mAGICO perfeito lindo e foda *--*
I've always wondered how this would sound if Dick Dale was up on stage with him and added his own special brand of mania to the mix.
nice
Agreed...
カッケー
Thx for the exquisite pleasure to see the master.. *s*a*t*r*i*a*n*i*l*i*c*o*u*s*..:-) thx man.. *bugatti>..

@ArChAs I'd like to see you make a video showing him how it's done right.

New eras KING ARTHUR wioth his RED sword EXCALIBUR
@racejace1 I wonder if Johnny could play anything like this.
WOW. I'm going to shave my head and buy a black shirt.
If that don't have a little Hendrix, Stevie Ray going on, I don't know what.
saw joe perform this on the crystal planet tour with stu. stu's bass is more prominent than this version.

ftwfckyea Steve Vai himself says Joe is the best guitarplayer in the world
Just cause Joe made mistakes that don't mean shit!!
Plus I doubt Satriani would have had Matt play live and record on so many of his albums if Satch didn't like his tone...
up in the sky!!!.Its superman... no, its Satch!!!
And there I thought the studio version kicked balls...
What a pro!! Joe makes some mistakes but still carry's on like nothing happened.
The only mistake was that he didn't stretch the tune out more.
A wizard never makes a mistake. He does exactly what he means to...lol
Well, TRUE... it IS Joe and Joe doesn't make mistakes.
No mistakes - just to proof it is not playback.

240p.. we meet again..

@dreadbet i love him too but he played quite bad in this performance and this is a fact.
look into the face of God, hes amazing at guitar and totally bald.
The satch better not take off his glasses
He's amazing at playing, but he should search himself a singer.
yea its not like the record
Garbage solo, amazing song
