Also RIP to Jerzy Stuhr who has died the same day as they announced Shrek 5 release data. He was a legend for polish voice of Donkey from all previous movies of this series. I know this might not be as painful for you as for poles, but still.. Wherever those all legends go, I hope they are alright.

There's alot of thing i love about this announcement.
1. The teaser Poster is exactly like Shrek 2 Teaser Poster
2. That All Star in the tagline.. That's a smart one,and for All Star used for this Promo? They've been using that kind of music for Shrek Trailer ever since the second movie (minus The Fourth and Puss In Boots 1 since they didn't used All Star for their Trailer) and isn't a nostalgia bait,but more as a part of what Shrek is,i mean the last time they used the song is on The Last Wish Trailer.
3. The Director is the guy who also voice Rumplestiltskin in Shrek 4. How Ironic. Once voice the main villain in Shrek 4 now direct the Fifth Movie.
4. Also the "Not So Far Far Away" with the release date on 2026,that is really clever. And ngl,i kinda dig it. With that Release Date,they might prepare for the marketing.
The director has also done Trolls 2 and Band Together (Which was actually really fun, especially Band Together.) As well as several famous spongebob episodes (Idiot Box and Imitation Krabs if I remember correctly) the writer has also written BOTH of the Austin Powers sequels, so he has had experience in writing a Mike Myers led comedy so this could be fun

What do you mean by that? I just hope it doesn’t get a Megamind 2 treatment, because none of the original director (Tom McGrath) and the original cast returning, and the sequel was just a TV movie, and wasn’t really a sequel

The voice of Rumpelstiltskin is directing this movie, so he could return in this movie in some form. After all, he's the only shrek villain to not end up dead at the end of his movie. King Midas has also been namedropped way too many times for it to end up a coincidence.

I think it would be interesting if it was about his relationship with puss in boots. Because each shrek movie is about his relationship with someone in his life, in shrek 1, it's Donkey and shrek 2, it's fiona and shrek forever after worked as a finale because it focuses on both equally.
We’re going to be waiting longer for Shrek 5 than GTA 6. Because Shrek 4 came out in 2010 and GTA 5 came out in 2013.

Shrek 5 should be about Shrek navigating modern parenthood while facing a new villain trying to turn Far Far Away into a high-tech theme park, Classic fairy tale meets the digital age!.

I hope Shrek 5 opens up with the classic storybook opening, recapping the events of the previous four Shrek films that came before it. Yes, you read that right, all FOUR films. I think I'm one of the only few people left in the world who treats Shrek the Third as still part of this franchise. And one more thing, King “Artie” Arthur needs to return for Shrek 5, even if it's just a small cameo. Some of the fans and future Shrek films (if there's going to be more after Shrek 5) need to start acknowledging the fact that Arthur is the current king of Far, Far Away. It's like this: you can no longer make a Shrek movie without mentioning FFA and who's running it. This kingdom has been introduced to us audiences since 2004. And it has been part of almost every Shrek media/movie there is (Shrek 2, Far, Far Away Idol, Shrek 3, Shrek 4, Shrek Thriller, and Puss in Boots 2). It's obvious that we're going back to FFA in Shrek 5 since we got that small tease of it at the end of Puss in Boots 2. I also think that it's about damn time we see how Arthur is running the kingdom.
