It's if Markus is either dead or was rejected by Jericho (North, Josh and Simon -- if he's still alive of course --) And then if Connor turns Deviant while confronting either Markus (if he is still alive and die while trying to get to the detonator) or North, Connor will then be the one to go blow up Jericho. On his way Connor finds Josh and holds him in his arms while he is dying. Connor feels guilty because he is the one who pretty much led the Humans to Jericho and thus cry.
Im glad I fought Leo back and didnt witness Carl dying slowly on the ground with my own eyes. If ever I did. Id probably regret not fighting back and whenever theres a decision whether to kill or not. Id always choose kill and not let anyone of my people die anymore. Witnessing Carl dying would be my first step towards killing and avenging those who lived in the shadows yet got set on fire
