The real thing that made it scary wasn't that you weren't expecting voice acting. That island was made in the original Poptropica engine where they didn't have sound for almost anything. I think Ghost Story was one of the first islands to actually use a few audio files. So you're playing this completely silent game, and on the off chance that your sound is on, you suddenly get this voice out of absolutely nowhere. Pretty brilliant.

This game was part of my childhood. The superhero island, Charlie Brown island, and pirate ship were classics
OMG, I had all but forgotten this game. I remember rushing through my work in the computer lab at my elementary school so I could play it. I loved the shipwreck island and the superhero island.
YEAH DUDE SPEEDRUN MORE POPTROPICA. THE NOSTALGIA HITS SO HARD
Dude, I was in fourth grade when the first Poptropica island was released. There was no blimp or anything; you jumped down a hole to enter, and there was only one island. Then they released Shark Tooth, and it blew my mind. I'm amazed it still runs; they've changed the format and the way the map works so many times, and I'm sure there's a bunch of islands that aren't accessible anymore.
a throwback to the past, i miss old poptropica
i loved Poptropica as a kid. I would play it around Halloween and play the Mythology, Superhero, and Big Nate islands all the time.
A real hood classic right here, it was either this or Club Penguin
Poptropica taught me the basics of mercantilism, and by extension math. Specifically the old Skullduggery Island. I spent minutes figuring out how trade worked and how to buy low and sell high, concluding in a perfect clockwise route.
i wanna watch him do all the islands, the nostalgia hits so hard with this
This game taught me how to make a good gaming username as a kid, take an adjective and slap a noun in front of it
Accidently Clicked on this as i was scrolling and watched the whole thing, great video !
Please, more Poptropica my fellow Speezy.
