In the original. Whenever Saving the game, James is just staring with the most blank stare ever. It just adds to the uncanny feeling of the PS2 creep factor
I haven't played long enough to know if it's the same but if i remember correctly in the original game saving was looked down upon and every time you did james would look different to express him losing his sanity
No, the original save screen is simply a 3D render of his face. Its not in-game. Its the same face every time since it was just an unmoving picture. Its also ok to save unless you are going for a high star rating at the result screen. Which does count your saves.
Later in the last save point (the one with 9 saves point) , James will look away , maybe because he embarrassed or disgusted by himself after he know the "truth"

when you are progressing the story, he actually looks to the other way instead of looking at you

"When you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you"
I like to think that he's looking at a mirror :P

He cant look himself in the eye after realizing what he has done
James is looking into our dimension. @_@
I don't know what the point of having James' face in the save box is.💀💀💀
@@thebigcj517 I've always thought it was the viewpoint from the dog ending
There's a pretty insightful analysis on it, you can look up "what do the save points in Silent Hill 2 mean" and you'll find it pretty fast
I like the one with Maria when you save and she says are you ok.
I'm saving, beeeotch
I was saving in the prison and got jumped by a monster
You save a ton, eih? I know what ending you're getting :p
