I just applied and got accepted for non union merit shop Industrial electrical contractor company out of Chicago suburb and starting wage apprentice is 17 after 4 years they said 37 is that good? Compared to union I mean. And how different are the wages?
Retired Local 11 Journeyman here and union is the only way to go, and this isn't propaganda. Good pensions and medical.

My local unions website says apprentice starts at 20 then gets 50 an hour after 5 year apprentice if that’s true that’s amazjng
I am seriously thinking of going union. I just passed my Jman test 4 days ago. I am just worried about having to travel if my local has no work

I'm with ibew local 40 and it's the best decision I've ever made. Extremely good benefits, good pay and plenty of Optional overtime

Best part time job i ever had, i can make 100/ 130 thousand per yr. Working 7/9 months. Ibew is the way to go
