So, my friend and I did this tour with Simba Sea Tours today based on your recommendation! When we walked in to the breakfast room there this morning, this video was playing on a big screen TV! This tour was a fabulous recommendation! The snorkeling was phenomenal, and the whole area was just amazingly beautiful! It was really great to beat the crowds at Maya Bay! I have done Phi Phi Island tours from Phuket and Krabi - it is a bit quicker from Krabi though.
I've stayed in Phi Phi Don Island on my 3rd of the 4th trips to Thailand.
To me, Maya Bay and Railey are the most stunning beaches in Thailand

Welp, we have regrets now. Those beaches looked incredible. Kinda hate that we didn't do any of the excursions from Phuket because there's some pretty insane day trips from there. Also, THAT DIVE FORM🔥Great video guys!!

Nice! One of the longest hottest days of my life was kayaking from Don to Lee and back. The coral has definitely bleached a lot in the last 10 years but not as bad as I would have expected

Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! Snorkeling is so much fun! Especially when you're so close to shore so you can speed in if big sharks come around! 🤣🤣And to see monkeys in their natural habitat... fukn awesomeness to me! 😍😍 The food looks absolutely delish too! So nice to see Maya Bay again! We did the Maya Bay Sleep Aboard in 2014 and heard it was shut down for years afterward due to pollution and trash. If you get a chance I would also recommend staying on Koh Phi Phi Don at the Paradise Pearl Resort. Great price and an amazing included breakfast overlooking beach where you can see Koh Phi Phi Le from the beach. They had a beachside massage tent when we were there.
Well Done! Agree 100% with your comments regarding excursion costs. Our experience throughout SE Asia being on both sides is much like you mentioned. Do your research and You only get what you pay for.

Was there for just an hour or so in March, 2016 as part of a speedboat tour of three islands. The sand was truly powder soft! It was extremely crowded though, and hardly any space to sit and tons of people in the sea which was full of boats arriving and leaving. I was told that February is even worse for overcrowding because that is when there is a special Chinese holiday and many very large groups of Chinese tourists visit at that time. Very beautiful place though, and I am glad that they are protecting the island a bit more these days. It was very hot in March...I think if I go back, January might be a good time..
January is the best time of year to visit and being that Maya Bay is protected there are less people. Beautiful place to visit for sure. ❤

Hi Guys! Thanks for another great video. The excursion was amazing and the locations were incredible beautiful. Obviously you used the GoPro and got some fantastic video. It looked like you were swimming in a massive aquarium. My question is do you ever use the kit lens or is everything shot with the Signa?

We just use the kit lens that comes on the GoPro when you buy it. We shot this entire video with the GoPro and media pod. This was the first time I used the GoPro underwater and there are other settings I could have used but more research is required on that. I think it came out pretty well. 🍻

Great vlog of Maya Bay and the Phi Phi islands. I haven't made it to them yet as I'm always in Bangkok and the vacinity and have also been north to Chiangmai region over the decades. I haven't been to the beach/water areas of Thailand, maybe due to having easy access to the beach/water here at home and also Hawaii.

@@BrianandCarrie Hopefully, I will get to the Thai beaches. I've had plenty of opportunity to go, but just never got around to it. I spend 3 weeks in Bangkok and surrounding areas and have a lot of running around to do there. LOL! Plus, I've been there so many times until it's more like home away from home. I'm not doing tourists things there.
I also hope to get to Vietnam. I've been traveling around the world solo and female almost annually, since the age of 17/18 in the 1970s. I'm in my mid-60s now. There aren't a lot of places left on my to-do list, but Vietnam is one of them. Keep up the great work! I like your vlogs as they're very real, like out and about whether the weather and other conditions are good or bad, but you just keep going. Thumbs up!

I did Maya Bay in 2018 and our power boat went right onto the beach with about the other 50+. It definitely took away from the beauty of the bay. I had heard that it was closed for a few years and it looks like it was worth it. Thanks for the information. I'll probably take your advice and do this same tour when I go back in early 2024.

Yes, you get about an hour in a half in Maya Bay. This particular excursion got us there early before it got crowded. By the time we left it was getting busy anyway and time to leave. Thank you for watching!

Maya Bay has some good aspects -- it's a very Instagramable location -- but also some serious drawbacks. Now, a restricted number of people can visit this beach at any one time, and it's a very small beach. No swimming. To go there, you probably stay on the bigger Ko Phi Phi island, which is oversaturated with tourists (think Spring Break in Florida), overpriced rooms, crowds of western tourists. If you're after a nice quiet pretty normal beach where you can swim, not overurun, do head to Thailand, but dig deeper than "The Beach" to find a good spot.

I'm from New Zealand and us kiwis have a perception about North Americans very limited travel and worldly experiences. Are we wrong? Simply honestly curious as I love your vlogs!! Hi, Tim. You are not wrong, of course, there are exceptions, but we are not one of them. Separately we have been to Hawaii, Mexico and Carrie went on a Mediterranean cruise a few years back. She and I went to Portugal together 4 years ago and that trip is what got us started down this path. Hey Brian and Carrie I don't know if my question was blocked in youtube or maybe I just forgot to post it. I was trying to find out, how hard or easy it is to find American medicines in the places you visit. I suffer from allergies. Is it easy to find allergy sprays in local pharmacies in these places ?
The pharmacies are very good here and there are many. We haven't had any problems getting what we need.

Hello I was watching your Schengen 90/180 days rule video its really confusing me this is stupid rule I have a question hope you can help me since you have experience because calling Europeans embassies or their so called consulate its waste of the time since they don't answer the phone Ive stayed from sept 1 till nov 21 (2022) and I left Schengen I want to return mid may and stay till mid June and then leave for 3 months and again return to Schengen spend 3monts in late summer fall winter can I do that I heard that as long as you leave 90 days you are fine but again some people say no its 180 days so please give me an idea even some consulates they have no idea about their stupid rules I am waiting for your answer thank you.
Hi, Robert. You will be fine if you don't stay longer than 90 days. Once you leave after 90 days you must stay out for another 90 days before re-entering. If you are in the Schengen zone for less, than 90 days you can re-enter at any point. You get 90 days in a 180-day period. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching our channel!!
