We travel to Koh Phi Phi island, and then go on a longtail boat to the beautiful and famous beach of Maya Bay which was in the film 'The Beach', this stunning beach has only just reopened in 2022 and is so empty compared to normal times! This has to be the most beautiful beach in Thailand in my opinion.

Me and the wife visited Thailand regularly in 2004 with our 1 Yr old son and the Thai people were so kind and friendly if you get a chance to travel and your legs will carry you don't ever put it off, love your vlogs and enjoy your many years of travelling together.

Maya Bay is a stunningly beautiful bay that's sheltered by 100-metre high cliffs on 3 sides. You can enjoy several beaches here.

It's really great time to visit Maya Bay during the period. Not crowded with people. I was there several years ago before the Covid19 pandemic and found a ton of visitors were there. Now, there is a lot of time and space enjoying beautiful places and experiencing gorgeous foods. Hopefully, you both had a really memorable trip in Thailand. Love your video.

true and also enforce cleanup or something. This beauty must be preserved. It's quite breathtaking. Seeing this in person cannot do justice on what the camera shows. Being at the base of these monstrous riocks you are just transported to another world. I can't really explain it lol

Hey guys, love the video, i beleive the new way to access and visit Maya Bay will be beneficial also, i went in there in 2017 and Maya bay was just hell, packed with speedboats fighting to park and tourists everywhere !!! was far away from paradise beach expectation !!! hopefully the entrance of the beach will stay the way it is right now and will only allow a certain amount of tourist to access it at the time !!! looking forward to get back there next year 😊 thanks for the lovely images !!!

Hi Joel, i have a question, i am planning to do backpacking through southeast Asia for 6 months, my starting point is Bali and probably staying there for a month. i am getting there on May 4th 2022. after Bali i am thinking to stay in Singapore for few days to a week. And i have no idea where to go from Singapore. i want to end my destination in Thailand. so Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos these are the places i also want to stop. Any ideas on how to do this in correct order? and any specific tips? Thank you
I was at ko phi phi a few years ago, there is a walk that you can do up the hill to the view point. Also we hired a long tail boat and went to visit monkey beach.

Hi Joel , Normally we have to pay the island entrance fee. 20 Bath fee maybe island entrance fee.

Do you think it is better to visit Maya beach in the morning or in the afternoon?
For a 2 month backpacking trip how much am I looking to spend on pre-trip expenses. Such as backpack, clothing, insurance, visas etc? Love the content Joel!
Well depends what countries you going to for visas! 1 month in Thailand is free! Maybe a backpack cost you about £100, do you already have summer clothes you probably won’t need any extras!

I went there with a friend from Singapore last week. As a Thai, somehow I don’t think it’s worth for paying 400 Baht for the entrance fee. You can’t even swim there. Just a short beach where people line up to take photos.

It's not even close to the most beautiful beach in Thailand. And you can't swim - it's just a paddling pool for tourists. We were on a boat nearby and had paid the 400 baht already for diving, so we stopped in for a look. It's nice, but all pretty tacky now, and there are still other people around. You can find nicer beaches elsewhere and have them to yourself 🙄
