To get the seal seated perfect for the cover, get it started and then just stretch it out about 5 inches and then slide your finger over the top of it and it will go right into the groove. So much easier. Once installed, this thing makes the taco sound mean when you nail it. It took me about 45 minutes soup to nuts to get the job done and clean up. It was simple after watching the video. Today's mission, Pedal Commander. Thanks
Thank you. I followed your steps in the video and the only issue I had was with the seal in the same place as you. I applied a little lubricant to the seal in that area and it went right in.
Don't you need to disconnect battery first so it won't throw an error?? Pretty sure I read that on S&B website. No need for tune, but disconnecting battery tells truck, when you reconnect battery, there's a new air situation
Since I’ve gotten this intake I’ve been getting vibration. It’s like a vacuum vibration threw one of the rubber seals around the intake tube or it could possibly be from around the clear plastic cover
I know this soo cool but I will never and I mean never but a cold intake on my truck. I lurned the hardway. I put one on my 2007 chevy Silverado. Driving down the main street, and it just got finished raining. I went over a puddle of water no deeper then one inch crossing over the road. My truck shut off. I tried to crank the truck but all it did was made a bump sound. I called my friend that's a mechanic. He told me he had bad news. Going over the water suck water into my intake causing a hydro lock, busting all my engine rods. One went through my oil pan. Fortunately my insurance coverage took care of it. Never make that choice again
This intake can be configured like stock or ram air. The box is sealed so it wont suck in water anymore than the oem airbox. Now if you had an open air box design water can get into it of you hit a giant puddle that floods the engine bay
Technically, your ecu manages everything. Regardless changing your intake the numbers will all be the same unless you get your truck dyno and tuned. Your basically paying for a noise maker lol
ShinyStarDust Homes lol your funny. How about you bring your truck to a tuner and run it stock and then run it with this noise maker. Your still getting the same output buddy.
You don't know the difference between your and you're, just like you don't know what YOU'RE talking about. You can still see an increase in performance from an intake without a tune, a tune will just take more advantage of the increased air flow. Many vehicles make more power with nothing other than a cold air intake...some just see significantly more of an increase than others.

Did you only have the fender vent feeding air or did you also have the ram air vent that takes suction from the grill?
