- In this video you’ll see “How to remove the door panel on a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee”.
The tools you will need for your Jeep Grand Cherokee door panel removal-
7mm socket
10mm socket
Pick hook tool
Wedge / pry tool
Removing the door panel on your Grand Cherokee is very straightforward.
Use the pick hook to remove the small trim behind the interior handle, there you will see two fasteners. Remove the 10mm bolt, but leave the Phillips screw as it is for the handle and does not secure the panel to the door.
The next fastener is beneath a small cover located in the grip pocket you would hold when closing the door. It is a hinged trim and will not be removed completely. There you will find the 7mm fastener.
At this point you are able to take your wedge/pry tool at the bottom of the panel to begin releasing the push clips that are holding the panel in place. Work your way up the sides, releasing the clips as you go.

1- you need to focus on the top 5 clips. Once you get those in put the 10 MM bolt in loosely to hold it. The Grand Cherokee Summit door panel is quite heavy and the tweeter speaker connector will detach easily leaving the retaining clip broken. Get someone to help you hold the door panel as it can get quite heavy as you are trying to align top clips. Once top clips are in place check tweeter connection then slowly position each clip before applying pressure to seat them!
Well done. That’s great detail of the install. It’s been a while since I’ve worked on one so I don’t remember how difficult it went back on.

I have this exact same model and my speaker cover is rattling with bass a little bit. What would you recommend doing for that if I take the panel off?
Hey. I’d be curious if the speaker cover fits snug on the panel and is vibrating against door, or has some minor slack in its attachment to the panel.
Maybe something like felt tape that could act as an insulator on the back side of the panel around the cover?

I do not have a specific video to share for mirror replacement. After removing trim panel, only a few hardware needs to be removed and electrical connector to replace the mirror.
any difficulty doing the drivers side? I have a 2021 that I just took delivery of and the dealer will need to replace the drivers side door panel which has every electronic possible it seems LOL.
Hey! In most applications the panels on both driver and passenger sides are removed with the same process, only difference being additional plug in connectors to disconnect on the drivers side. The electronics will stay fastened to the panel and simply unplug from the wire harness on the door itself.
