You put a smile on my face just thinking about seed starting, when I am looking out at snow. Normally wouldn’t comment, but since you only posted two minutes ago, I felt I should chime in. Thanks for helping us look ahead to spring. Happy Holidays!

I have to tell you. I'm doing a little presentation in mid-January and I wanted to bring some starts to show. So I've actually already stated, I have about 20 plants going right now!

Great idea! Yes, they already know I'm weird, for sure! I sure did go digging through the garbage for not only Solo cups, but 2 liter pop bottles!😂 Oh well!

I'm going to start my onions early Jan. I haven't had great production the past 2 years, hope the earlier start will do the trick. Z6NY

We are a similar zone and that's when we start ours. Last year mine when in on January 15th. Our last frost lands between May 1st and May 15th.

It may be over kill, but I always do the bleach solution. I don’t want to look back and say coulda, shoulda, woulda.

I did for a long time, but I live in a very dry climate and I've never really had a problem with diseases so for the last few years I've just gone with the vinegar.

Regarding the bleach disinfecting solution....How many dirty trays/containers can I dunk in? I do not mean all at once but how many dunks can I do before the disinfectant does not work anymore. If such a thing even exists. Thank you.

I've always just mixed up one batch and then just done all of my containers. and I have a lot of containers. Always seemed to work. But recently I've switched to the vinegar since I normally don't have a lot of disease issues.

      @@StoneyAcresGardening Thank you.
The 50% vinegar and 50% water mixture I happen to use when dusting (I just spray some on the cloth) and it seems to work well for dusting too

I have a couple of favorites, Most (like 80%) of my seeds come from True Leaf Market. But I also get seeds from Honest Seed Company and I sometimes use Johnny Sees and Territorial Seed Co
