I was getting tempted to stop using drill kicks altogether! Now that i know what I'm looking for eith using it effectively and WHY you'd want to use it, I'll get to work on learning it.
Great start to this series Narath - I'm looking forward to seeing more. It's probably too hard to catalog all of them, but I'd love to see some common places in an opponent's block string where it's a good time to bring out drill. I've seen you and others catch Cammy's and Deejay's with this.
Cammy can be difficult to do this against since they'll often reset pressure with divekick instead of a button into DR. Deejay I find myself tagging his cr.mk a lot with Drill.
Thanks for the info, definitely need to use drill more as Sim. My biggest issue is if I spam heavy/medium punch/kick as Sim, Drive Impact can hit you from miles away. Do you have any tips on zoning without getting rekt by DI?
Are there situations where you would use mummy instead of drill? Was just on the receiving end of some wake up command grab beatdowns and realized Drill, Mummy or level 3 were the only options. Payoff for drill seems to be worse than neutral jump with other characters.
At the higher level it's difficult to use Mummy cuz they'll know how to chase down Mummy to teleport away and Mummy to teleport in is really risky. I'll do it once in awhile to see how they react or use it alongside Ex Arch Also yeah often times ya won't get a combo for punish countering a throw with Drill, though HK drill gives you the best odds of getting a conversion afterwards

You have to use it (drill) as a mix up when jump teleporting
