    For those of you wondering, MSG is a flavor enhancer that is commonly used in Asian cuisine. It also makes the rice taste more savory. This is because it stimulates the taste receptors on the tongue. It also makes the rice taste more like restaurant-style fried rice because Chinese restaurants use MSG in their fried rice to give it its signature flavor.

    Looks awesome as always. Would you please consider making a rectangular burger about the size of a pack of slider buns? You could maybe flip it with a pizza peel, put many slices of cheese on & put the whole thing on the slider buns. 🥘♥️

      Troy explained that real well. It give an umami flavor as Troy noted, the taste receptors are stimulated with it and it gives food a flavor that separates it from others. Some say they have reactions to it, but it's been looked at and deemed okay. MSG is a natural products not chemically made.

  • @brucesofge
    @brucesofge 3 місяці тому

    No these tips will mot make top tier fried rice. Adding the frozen peas at the end will as you did will result in undercooked peas. I followed your instructions and ruined the fried rice. Your taste test should have been honest and said "Oops - I should have cooked the peas with the other vegetables".

    • @thehungryhussey
      @thehungryhussey  3 місяці тому +1

      The peas are to be aldente and crisp. If you cook them longer, they’ll be mush. My taste test was fine. Dang son, did you throw the peas in and immediately start chowing down? Gotta use some sense here, the steam from the rice will cook the peas.
