I just turned 50 last week. I cannot explain, this like hoping into a time machine and having a foot in two separate worlds at the same time....love it!
Agreed. This was actually the second SP song I liked(after Rhinoceros), but being a poor college student I held off buying Gish for months since I didn't want to waste my money if there was only one good song on the album. Of course, Drown wasn't on that album like I thought, but luckily the whole album was amazing. ->Shane: I'm pretty sure Corgan, and Love were going out before she even met Kurt.
Not much people knows this but Chris Cornell helps on getting this song in on the movie. It was shocking to know that Cornell have interest in pumpkins music.
I'm so glad I was in my early 20s and capable of understanding wtf was going on with the Seattle Music Scene late 80s early 90s....I will always carry "the torch" because afterall.... God Loves Grunge!!! Est. 1966
First time I heard this song in 1991-2, I was high as a kite taking a piss at an amazing party and I thought "Who is this? I fucking love this! Damn this is sooo goood! LOL
I had someone tell me that they hate songs with long feedback parts. They said it's annoying. They were also upset that bands didn't sound exactly the same when they were playing live. Obviously this was a much much younger person than me who totally didn't grow up listening to Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr lol.
God, it was like 93 or 94 when I heard this. I was in LA at the time and moved to SC. It was a revelation. Best part was that I was ahead of the curve. I knew it was coming. God bless the Grunge.
SO fucking jealous you were alive and old enough to appreciate the 90's. I was born in 93 and I wish I had experience the 90's as a young adult. Wouldn't care if I'd be old now. Singles was a great movie, and I am am envious when my boyfriend talks about his days having fun in the 90's... the days before 9/11. They'll never be back.
I was born in 80 & even though I grew up listening to AIC, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction etc... i was too young to go to shows and experience them live. Although the music was an escape from my f'd up childhood & lack of parental guidance.
Atomic Girl the first time I heard this song was live in 90-91. The girl in the record store played Gish for me and I I bought tickets immediately. Saw them twice again in 93 and twice in 95. It was an amazing time for concerts and music. I was fortunate enough to see all of these great bands Nirvana, Sound Garden, Alice In Chains and a ton more spent the first half of the decade going to every show that hit my state.
After about a year after this soundtrack came out Houston started playing this on the radio and I was freaking out...but the song faded out right when the lyrics ended...and I called the station and cussed out the dj. This song was/is sacred to me.

That feed back is crazy good at the end. Im into more advanced music today but pumpkins i grew up listening to and they always had a good technique side to them. Jimmy Chamberlin was(is) so sick on drums.
