Ian Gillan - vocals Ritchie Blackmore - lead guitar Roger Glover - bass The late great Jon Lord on the cutdown Hammond C3 organ fed thru a Marshall amp Ian Paice - drums
I forgot to mention that the drummer, Ian Paice, is still influencing other drummers today including Akane Hirose from Band-Maid. Check out the Band-Maid live videos from Yokohama Arena sometime.
Ian Paice, drummer, known as "The Chief" and "Thunderfoot". Left handed, self taught, has had a stroke and part of one lung removed, played at every Deep Purple concert and on every Deep Purple recording. Deep Purple's drug of choice, alcohol; named the world's loudest band in 1972 by Guinness Book of World Records, and is touring this summer in the U.S. 🎵🎶🎵
Listen to HIGHWAY STAR, next but don't drive. Also they just release there 23 studio LP and Ian Pace is still smashing drums at 70ish. The LP is called =1. Portable Door is one of there singles. The singer is 78. Not bad at this age, lol
I already listened to it on the channel if you're interested. I've heard about the album, not sure if I'll record my reaction but I'll check it out for sure, thanks for watching
@@SattzFF I was so happy to hear you are so into the prog, are you familiar with Steven Wilson and also his band Porcupine Tree. I recommend "The Blackest Eyes". Don't sleep on Gilmours solo stuff, while some is old ladyish, some is fire. Especially live versions. Recommend "There's No Way Out Of Here", "Murder" some superior guitar work, "In Any Tongue
I heard about that band but I never tried it so maybe I'll do a reaction to it in the future. About Gilmour, I'm 100% doing his solo albums and stuff, same with Nick and Rick, except Roger as I listened to everything @@glennbrock6560
You might want to check out live version of The Mule. Ian Paice, the drummer, has a killer solo I think you will enjoy. Also, another great song by DP is Flight of the Rat.
In my view this song was from the perspective of the PEACE spirit as it protested wars. 3 sets of 3 screams as PEACE CRIED OUT to stop the killing in War World 1, 2 And Vietnam. The last set of screams was PEACE giving up on humanity and blew its brains out against the wall. Humanity didn't listen
After you check out more Deep Purple, which you should follow the lead guitarist who left Deep Purple to form the band called Rainbow with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. The song to check out is called "Stargazer", such an epic song.
You have seen a piece of geniality played live. You have to think, this was 1970, no computers, no high tech effects, no autotunes, no nothing, this is real musicians playing real music, and still today it sounds so good, powerful and fresh live music. And DEEP PURPLE are the best of the best on stage, best vocalist IAN GILLAN (far better than Robert Plant live), best keyboard Maestro JON LORD is a classical symphonic composer, you must review his CONCERTO FOR GROUP AND ORCHESTRA played by DEEP PURPLE with the ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA (1969) best drummer IAN PAICE, best bass player ROGER GLOVER, and of course best guitar player RITCHIE BLACKMORE. They were no high school pals, nor neighbors, nothing like that, they were no friends before they played together, they looked for each other. The band was formed in 1968, by Maestro Jon Lord and guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, and they demand from the other members to play better each time on stage, this is a live band, they feel very uncomforttable in the studio, so they practice, rehearse and rehearse to improvise like you have seen; each night the same song sounds different, like the finest jazz combo, but hard rock instead. They were and still are virtuosos, awesome musicians. IAN PAICE, the drummer, practice his instrument, about 6 to 8 hour a day to be the best of the best. He is one of the greatest rock drummers of all time, you must research about him. Their live act was defined as everyone is going to beat the others, they say "I will play better than you", "Tonight I'm going to shine over you", is was actually like a friendly battle between the guitar and the organ, and the singer, and the bass, and the drums, they all wanted to shine, but they did it together, they played for the music, always listening the others, so the result was a brilliant live act and you don't know who to admire the most, because they all were great.. This is the best HARD ROCK BAND, in fact they invented "Hard Rock" More details about the band, this was the second line-up, known as DEEP PURPLE MARK II, started in 1969 and lasted until 1973, when MARK III appears (they changed the singer and bass player) I highly recommend you to check HIGHWAY STAR (live from MADE IN JAPAN album 1972) also LAZY from the same album, and SPACE TRUCKING again from that same live album. And then BURN from their studio album (1974), and YOU FOOL NO ONE from their live album MADE IN EUROPE (1975). Just to start the purple voyage, is a long voyage, because the band is still on tour with GILLAN on vocals, GLOVER on bass and PAICE on drums, along with DON AIREY on keyboards, and SIMON MC BRIDE on guitar. Blackmore decided to quit the band at the end of 1993, during the tour for THE BATTLE RAGES ON (their 25th anniversary album) because of intern conflicts, was replaced temporarily by JOE SATRIANI, and later by STEVE MORSE. Maestro JON LORD died in 2012 of cancer. Tha band has launched their 23rd studio album on this same month, yes, august 2024, and right now is number one in many european countries. Album is titled " = 1 " One last comment, the audience was requested to stay quiet during the music playing, because the microphones were so sensitive in that time, that may cause a trouble. As you have listened, the recorded sound is brilliant, as it is the video too. Thank you for your reaction.
Escuchaste una obra maestra!! Deep Purple es considerado uno de los padres del Metal, junto a Black Sabbath y Led Zeppelin. Se les llamó también la "Sagrada Trinidad Impía". 15:1815:18
Deep Purple, Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath created the original Heavy Metal from heavy and hard English rock. Tommy Iomi used his improvised finger splint for his unique guitar tone, while Ritchie Blackmore and Jimmy Page both added classical music ( mostly Bach ) to the rock. Shredding is mostly Bach for Clavichord and Harpsichord played on guitar, and is a common feature of Classical guitar.
Thanks for watching!

There were no weak links in this MK II version of Deep Purple. Incredible!
The crowd was told to remain quiet because they were recording the song.

Good choice and excellent reaction . Thank you…
Drummer is Ian Paice, a great.
He's a pretty good drummer, thanks for the info!
The great Ian Paice on drums , and hardly anyone mentions his name talking about drummers , but I thought he was fantastic 40 years ago !
He's pretty good indeed

Great reaction, dude. Love your energy and perspective. I have hope for the future.

I can see that too, it's honestly one of the most beautiful yet dark songs I've ever heard, really good

I heard of Rainbow and Dio, probably the best to replace Ozzy after he left Black Sabbath, I never listened to Stargazer so thanks for the suggestion

Try telling a young Heavy Metal guitarist that he is playing Bach or Vivaldi.... and very badly. lol
