10 months ago I bought a 30 watt Raycus. last week, I paid 5000 for a 100 watt JPT source to replace the 30 watt. Should be delivered today. Also had to get a 48 volt power supply. the 30 watt runs on a 24 volt.

I have a question I can't seem to find a succinct answer to: Is the primary advantage of a higher wattage the cutting speed? I had been looking at a JPT 60w MOPA, but I don't think I'll be using color engraving too much and was debating getting a 100w Q-switch instead with the savings.

@@c.j.1089 After having the 100 Watt JPT for a bit. I would go for the 60watt MOPA over 100watt Q. It is for more than color. Deep engrave vs ablation vs polishing using the frequency. You never know what jobs will come your way and you will be ready for vs wishing you had it. I run my fiber about 30% power most time. 60watt will work great.

A fibre laser is for metal a CO2 laser is for wood, but both will work on plastic
