    I've watched episodes 1-6 of Pachinko and it's been a roller coaster of emotions. Being Korean American watching I couldn't help imagining my grandmother ( who is a healthy 94 yrs old) similarly tell me stories....its been eye opening and empowering.

    • @2hearts1seoul
      @2hearts1seoul  2 роки тому +7

      Definitely a roller coaster, but so beautifully done. And wowww, I wonder what your grandmother would think of it 🇰🇷❤️

      Rollercoaster of emotions is spot on. When Sunja says goodbye to her mother my heart actually ached, and it made me want to hug my Korean mother and not let go.

      Pachinko showed very little bit about what japanese did to Korean. You can't imagine how much Japan was horrible to Korean.
      They're much worst than nazi did to Jewish.
      They didn't even apologize to Korean victims.
      Even insulted them.
      And they're acting like a victims to USA n whole around world.
      USA should open the file to the public media about what Japan 731 camp's did horrible tested to Korean n other countries people. It's much horrible than holocaust.

    That moment you captured of Beemo asleep on his back with his stomach totally exposed as he doesn't have a care in the world is the picture of a happy and secure kitty! Beemo does look to have lost a little weight - he looks in great shape.

    Wow, Sarah, the shot of you sitting on the hill with the cherry blossoms falling around looked like it was straight out of a movie! Growing up in DC, I used to go cherry blossom viewing every year, but I've never seen such a gorgeous "snowfall" of petals like that before! I hope you guys enjoyed them enough before they were gone.

    • @2hearts1seoul

      Yes! The falling cherry blossoms scenes were lovely; so glad you were able to capture those moments. Plus the inclusion of the curious man 😆. Really enjoyable vlog.
      I too read & enjoyed "Pachinko" but won't be subscribing to another streaming channel to watch the adaptation. I like Youn Yuh-jung (her mom roles in KDramas, reality shows & "Sense8", "Dear My Friends"). I hope the series does well.

    출근길에 항상 판교를 거쳐 출근을 해요 지하철로만 거의 이동을해서 밖의모습은 거의 못봤네요
    지금은 아마 다떨어졌겠지만 영상으로나마 벚꽃을 다시 눈에담아보니 좋네요☺️
    저희동네는 벚꽃보단 개나리가 더많이폈다는..(촌동네ㅋㅋ)

    내일부터 모든 방역수칙이완화가되요
    거리두기 시간제한 인원제한등등 좀더 자율화되가고있는만큼 더세심히 사람들 나름대로 손씻기, 손소독제, 마스크쓰기등등 잘지켜나간다면 상황이더완화될수있지않을까 희망을 가져봅니다 일상이 되돌아오길요

    Loved the video. Kyuho is so focused when he was driving. And that man in the park checking out your camera (or was it your cell phone?) LOL. I'm glad you left that in as it really gave me a laugh. At least in Korea, you still had your equipment. Here in New York, that would have turned into stolen equipment.
    I haven't watched Pachinko. I read an overview and felt it would be a very sad story. I try for uplifting stories because the news is filled with sad things. The only thing I would have enjoyed is watching Lee Minho. OMG, he's as handsome as ever.

      It’s beautifully done, but definitely quite heavy at times, to say the least.

    • @GeorgieCaribu
      @GeorgieCaribu 2 роки тому

      Well, though Japanese imperialism is a major part of the story, the central family, & it’s intertwining branches, is the bigger part. Also, because they’re stretching out the story across 4 seasons (allegedly), the probably hardest to watch pieces wont be in this season. That being said, there is still A LOT of… -I don’t quite know the right words - and I would imagine that it may hit even harder for a Korean audience.

    LOVE Pachinko the book AND show. Read the book exactly a year ago, and I love that in the show they’ve fleshed out the stories and moments that Min Jin Lee expertly & succinctly, but still beautifully, delivered in mere sentences. We are in for A LOT more of that, as it’s supposed to be a 4 season series, at 8 episodes a piece. I think the actress that plays young Sunja and the actor that plays Solomon are really giving masterful performances, and also of course, our Oscar winner halmeoni, Youn Yuh-jung.
    My only “complaint” is that they’re asking me to believe that “Isak” is not handsome af, and not as much of a catch as “Hansu” 🤣😅. Episode 6 made me cry like 3 times, older Sunja in the hospital with Hana and Solomon, and the split scene of Isak and Yoseb, while young Sunja gave birth to Noa. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED Talk 😁

    The cherry blossoms are so beautiful! 😍 It's a shame they don't last very long :(. Ours just bloomed here and now they're basically over. We're going to have another freeze tonight too so I'm sure that'll get any that were left :(.
    I hope you guys have a great week!

      @2hearts1seoul  2 роки тому

      If you’ve got problems allergies, the silk pillowcases help a LOT. I’ve got a dust mite allergy and sometimes wake up with a random red itchy bump on my face or neck. Hasn’t happened at all since switching to silk!

    All the cherry blossom dreams compressed into one video for sure - it looks gorgeous.
    And those acupressure stones (especially the pointier ones) at 4:01 are excruciatingly painful to walk on barefoot and the work of the Devil (ask me how I know).
    I swear they could have been used as a torture device in the Spanish Inquisition LOL
    Are you liking the Dyson Airwrap, Sarah? Your hair is looking super shiny and healthy (although that could be the Lilysilk pillowcases and scrunchies too!)
    Would you consider doing a mini Airwrap review?

    8:49, 10:19 , 10:20 where my favourite screen times to look at !! Totally Ghibli vibes. ✨😭💗
    When you were reading while the petals were falling reminded me of the scene in Arrietty where he lies in his garden.
    Silk scrunchies are a savior, it gives my hair a soft curl look always. Good investment 🌟
    I had also saved this show in my list, we have a similar taste. I really like your book recommendations, please do more of them.
    Ps. Red would look nice on you.

      That garden in Arriety is my ultimate Ghibli fantasy 😍
      Silk scrunchies have helped my hair SO much too! It makes me cringe that I was using rubber elastics all those years while sleeping 😩
      I plan to do some book recommendations again soon! :)

    사실 경상도 출신 입장에서는 익숙한 사투리라서 알아듣는데 별 문제 없었는데 다른 지역분들은 어려울 수도 있겠더라구요. 한국어 자막조차도 사투리 그대로 써놓는바람에. 자막은 표준어로 했어야 할 거 같은데

    At the 4:35 mark, 🤣🤣If you left your camera feet away to film in the U.S it will be stolen in seconds. I don't know many other countries besides Japan where you're safe to leave your belongings and be wouldn't be stolen. So sad to see all the Cherry blossoms falling, I wished they lasted longer. 🌸
