Tanya is awesome! I buy most my Ts from her. I just got married a few days ago and had placed a large order a few weeks back ( I bought a C hoggi and Ami sp. Panama as well) and she threw in a pair of H pulchripes as a wedding gift. Best dealer on the planet in my opinion...best customer service as well. I cant say enough about Fear Not...highly recommended!
Hi, Richard! She is absolutely amazing to buy from. So knowledgeable and approachable and a true hobbyist first and foremost (not like some out there that are just in it for the money). Man, what a fantastic wedding gift and an amazing thing to do! WOW. Yup, she's the best. And congratulations on your marriage! That's fantastic! :)
Nice selections. I had an "in stock" email sent to me about her C. Hoggi slings. Almost bought one of those out from under you! Lol ended up picking up a big female H. Mac from her instead, and shes doing great.
Since I got back in to the hobby in April this year all my purchases have been from Fear Not Tarantulas! Every order has been a pleasure every T has arrived alive with perfect packing! Grate video tom!
Thank you so much, Christian! I don't think that it will ever blow up like some of the others, but I'm totally okay with that. At least I can somewhat keep up with my comments! haha
rehoused all my 5 balfouri slings yesterday all 5 are still alive was all cuddled up in a deep burrow they made, one gave me attitude with a threat haha! glad they are all alive and well :D
Congrats on the successful rehouse! Yeah, they actually seem to seek out each others' company. It's so cool! Hahaha! Sounds like you have a sassy one. :)
haha sassy for sure, they are rehoused till juveniles now, they are super fast right now ranging from 3-5cm one was half the size of the others expected em to get eaten but it pulled through :D yeah they definitely act like a family, the juvi rehouse should be fun they are only going to get more sassy and faster haha! not gonna lie they may be beautiful spiders but they can be quite intimidating :P
Great addition you got there Tom! I went to the East Coast Reptile super expo and picked up a few beauties myself Harpactira Namaquensis Cyclosternum sp. Antiquoia Proshapalopus Amazonicus Augacephalus Breyeri Chilobrachys sp. "Electric Blue" Phormictopus Auratus "Cuban Broze"
What size are the first two containers? I bought 3 ounce the slings coming next week. I think two are 3/4” and the third is 1-1/2. I’m thinking maybe I should get the bigger size!
Well! I just set up my first three. At one point I almost stopped breathing. I have one that’s 1/2” and it’s in the 16 ounce container. Hope that’s ok. Thanks, Tom!
I'm insanely excited right now! I bought my son a Tarantula, it gets here in two days! Who am I kidding I bought it for me too lol I should've done this YEEEEEAAAAARS ago. Ive loved spiders since I was a kid and I'm finally getting my (our) first Tarantula at almost 30 lol my son shares my love of spiders with me. I thought him how to feed the spiders outside when he was little and that's his favorite thing to do. He's 11 now. I can't freakin WAIT to see the look on his face!! Hahahaha
Im getting a h cafreriana next month very limited number of slings over here in U.K very excited to get one also got my t blondi and haplopelma SP Bach ma coming next week I think you will like the Bach mas very much tom !! Love from England !!!
Congrats...wow! You have some amazing species coming! :) I definitely have to get a sp. Bach ma (and a blondi, for that matter. :)). Thanks again, bud!
Great to see some other species than the "regular" ones. Can we expect a husbandry video soon? You are the only one who's not boring to listen to, when doing a husbandry video... (probably a teachers experience :-)..) Preferably the A moderatum..Always a pleasure to watch your videos! Thumbs up.
I LOVE ordering obscure species. It's just so much fun to watch them grow up (plus, they make for good husbandry videos!). Yes, you sure can! That's my plan with these guys. :) And thanks so much! I feel like I talk to much at times, but I just can't stand dead silence. haha :)
Tom Moran Absolutely not! Keep your videos just the way they are. Don't change 'm up! If I want to know something particular about a T, I always go to your channel, because for me its the most informative channel without any bs ( excuse the language). ;-)
When there is a hole on the back end, I've gently prodded them out with a brush. Those tubes are very soft and fragile, though, and I don't like gripping them for long as I'm always afraid that I'll squeeze too hard and crush the T. I can be be extra delicate when I can unroll them. :)
Great batch! I have yet to get any asian species myself. Have you ever been able to go to their shop in Va Beach? I'm 90 minutes away and will make a trip here shortly, as well as catch their booth at my reptile expo here in Richmond. Your reviews are spot on... excellent folks!
Unfortunately, no. I'm up in Connecticut, and we almost never travel. Someday I hope to! If I was 90 minutes away, I'd definitely take a field trip. :) Thanks again!
I’m actually pretty well terrified of spiders but have been watching a lot of yours and the dark dens videos and decided today to make an order from Jamie’s tarantulas for a pumpkin patch sling was curious if you had any beginner tips and if you’ve ever ordered from her I checked reviews and seen all positive ones
Hi, Justin! First off, I LOVE that my videos might have helped bring you into the hobby. That's fantastic! I actually bought my first tarantula in the 90s to get over my arachnophobia. If you bought a pumpkin patch sling from Jamie, it might have been one of mine! I recently traded her for 100 of them. :) I've been buying from Jamie for years; she's awesome. You have nothing to worry about. I actually interviewed her last year for my blog: tomsbigspiders.com/2016/11/25/an-interview-with-jamie-from-jamies-tarantulas-including-a-sneak-peek-at-her-black-friday-sale/ Here is husbandry video on the Hapalopus sp. Pumpkin patches. ua-cam.com/video/nAlJVv01Noc/v-deo.html Here is my article on them: tomsbigspiders.com/2014/08/31/hapalopus-sp-columbia-the-pumpkin-patch/ I currently keep my slings in 2 oz deli cups with tiny holes poked around the sides (I used a safety pin). I keep part of the substrate moist, and give them a tiny piece of cork bark to hide under. Some like to web up and some like to burrow. Let me know if you have any other questions. You can also shoot me an email at tomsbigspiders@outlook.com
Tom MoranI’ve already watched the video for the husbandry you’ve made for them lol haven’t read the article yet though so I’ll give that a look over I find it funny that I might have ended up with my first one from you inderictly he/she was part of a Halloween special but I got the deal that came with the sling enclosed and all the substrate and cork bark so I got all the goodies other than the feeders in one trip I have local store I’ll go thru for those for now
Great haul! Some great and lesser known species you got there (or maybe I have just overlooked these until now?). I actually had to google most of these names, which has led to the problem that I want at least half of them now. The addiction just never stops, does it?
Thanks so much, bud! I hadn't heard of most of them before, so I spent a couple weeks researching them. haha. I love getting obscure ones every once and a while. I'm a hopeless addict. Hahaha. I just keep telling myself that I didn't buy any all summer, so this is my reward. haha
awesome cool pick up! wish I lived in the states, sure tarantula's are a bit cheaper here in the Netherlands but there is only 3 people I trust enough to order my tarantula's from
Thanks so much! Yeah, the prices for a lot of them over there seem to be quite reasonable. I get jealous sometimes! haha We DO have a lot of great places to order from. :)
Ohh Harpactiras...nice! And def some havent heard of and cant wait to hear more when you cover them. Bonus moult as well :) p.s if you want small and one that seems to stay small for ever get an A Marksi. I have trouble spotting it at the moment. Hopefully moult any day soon.
They are all so cute. They are beautiful too. One molted while shipping. That is a hardy species. Hope they are all females and they grow up as beautiful as they began.
Thanks so much, Joyce! Fingers crossed that I get some girls out of this shipment. I usually have pretty good luck getting the ladies, although I've just had three males molt out lately. haha
So jealous! I've seen various species of Harpactira crop up lately, including one of the ones you inboxed today. Got a local reptile show today though, so not THAT jealous. Can I ask-- how do you manage to care for the huge number of slings from the breeding? Many of my growing specimen are getting to breeding age, and I actually have my A. geniculata male heading off for a breeding loan sometime in the next handful of months. I'm extremely excited as I've always intended to breed my animals, but have yet to decipher the best ways of caring for sudden surges of 500+ spiderlings. Do you have any advice to offer or perhaps any literature you've found helpful?
Awwww...thanks so much, Chelsea! And now I'M jealous, as we never have expos around here! haha I just had a sac of around 400 Hapalopus sp. Colombia large slings, and to be truthful, it was a lot of work. I had the majority in 2-oz deli cups which I kept in 3 larger Sterilite containers stacked in four layers of 20. They were so small at first I had to feed them cut up meal worms. And, because I was keeping them moist and they didn't eat all of the pieces I gave them, I would have to open them all up and take out the excess a day or two later. I was feeding them 2-3 times a week (I would clean out old food and give them a squirt of water and new food), and it would take about 3 hours to feed them all (after I got a system down). It got a bit stressful at first, as it was taking a LOT of time, and I already had close to 200 animals besides them that I was taking care of. Part of the issue these were such a pain was that they were so small. A large sling wouldn't be as difficult to find food for and to feed. A couple things to remember is that they don't eat until they hit 2nd instar, and even then it takes them a few weeks to take food. It's usually at that point that you want to separate them. Try to keep the enclosure in something larger so that you can move a bunch at once. Some folks use those sterilite plastic cabinets with drawers. If you have someone that can help you for feedings, that would make it MUCH easier! Once you get a system down, it's better, but it's VERY time consuming. I hope that helps!
I love Tanya's site; I just got my first Old World from her (H. pulchripes), and all the animals I've bought from her are healthy and thriving. Love as always seeing your vids; got a request. Would you maybe include in a video your thoughts on hybrid breeding? Maybe if enough people slam it, awareness of how damaging it is to the hobby will rise. And I'm still waiting for your next faves vid. ;)

Great video the tiny slings are what I've currently got and have also just started my own channel and uploaded my first vid so if you have the time to watch any advice on improving would always be welcomed
Great catch, bud! I realized my screw up last night when I was feeding and stumbled upon the empty arboreal enclosure I had prepared for it. haha. That's what happens when you try to rehouse 12 spiders on a Thursday evening! Of course, it already burrowed, so I tweaked out its enclosure a bit to give it some height. As soon as it molt, I'll switch it to 32 oz. Good looking out...thanks!!!
Tom Moran happens to the best of us m8 no worries and as you say they burrow straight away anyway, I have P. sp. carpenteri that I've had from a sling and it's still burrowed at 4" dls lol. Keep up the great work, I await your videos eagerly!
You should have seen me staring at the empty container trying to figure out why it was empty. hahaha That's the only problem with getting shipments of spiders in; you often end up doing the unpacking and rehouses when you're ready to go to bed. haha Thanks again, bud!
Hi, Micheal! The Harparctira are all Old World species, as is the C. hoggi and the P. sp. rufus. I wanted to try out some new ones that you don't see quite often! :)
She is amazing. VERY friendly, great communication and service, and she actually cares about the animals. And her selection lately has been fantastic. :)
you have too. I went to their booth at a reptile show since they were in my state, and I got an A. Geniculata for $35. the prices are great, and she actually cares about the tarantulas. they arent just money makers to her.
How did you care for your Catumiri Parvum? Do they have the same care as Catumiri Argentinense? Did yours turn out to be male or female or a mix? Do you still have them? Do you have or have had C. Argentinense? Your C. Parvum is a juvenile.
They can breath just fine during shipping! :) They don't use up as much oxygen as we do for respiration. I've received at least 50 boxes of spiders in the mail over the years, and I've never had a single death due to suffocation, even with ones that took a few days to get here. :)
I didn't take it that way at all! It blows my mind sometimes. :) As Michael stated, there are also holes in the shipping vials. I was totally freaked out the first time I ordered them through the mail, but I've had no issues. :)
Tanya is awesome! I buy most my Ts from her. I just got married a few days ago and had placed a large order a few weeks back ( I bought a C hoggi and Ami sp. Tom just for the record, you could be rehousing 100 slings and I’d be hooked! Love you vids xxx
Some beautiful new additions to your collections.
Thanks so much, Kathie!
beautiful slings Tom.
Thanks so much, Tim!
Since I got back in to the hobby in April this year all my purchases have been from Fear Not Tarantulas! Every order has been a pleasure every T has arrived alive with perfect packing! Grate video tom!
That is awesome! Yup, they are absolutely spectacular! I always check Tanya's site first when I'm looking for something. :)
I actually bought my first from her earlier this month a C. Cyaneopubescens
Alot of new ts. cant wait to see them grow and show their colors :)
Thanks, Efer...me, too! :)
This channel needs more subs man.
You work hard and I appreciate it brutha
Take care Tom.

I love unboxing videos.
See, I almost didn't do this one as I didn't know if they bored people. haha. Thank you!
Tom Moran Unboxing videos are a popular genre of videos in their own right :)
Im getting a h cafreriana next month very limited number of slings over here in U.K very excited to get one also got my t blondi and haplopelma SP Bach ma coming next week I think you will like the Bach mas very much tom !! Love from England !!!

Man, I can only imagine! :)
Tom Moran 😉😉
My first tarantula GBB sling 3.5 cm legspan is arriving tomorrow !
Congratulations! They are an amazing species. :)
I've had mine for a couple weeks now super awesome

Thanks so much! I think the need to compulsively talk and explain comes with my teaching background, so I don't see it ever changing. haha
Super fantastic additions. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks so much, bud!
Sweet order Tom!
Thanks, bud! :)
Have you tried gently pressing the back of the paper tube to get it out rather than unrolling it. It might make things easier.
When there is a hole on the back end, I've gently prodded them out with a brush. Those tubes are very soft and fragile, though, and I don't like gripping them for long as I'm always afraid that I'll squeeze too hard and crush the T. I can be be extra delicate when I can unroll them. :)

It's cool your wife is so on board I personally get nervous trying to rehouse with my husband and toddler around lol
Hello! Hahaha There's be a couple times where she got startled and distracted me for a second, but she's been awesome. hahah
awesome cool pick up! wish I lived in the states, sure tarantula's are a bit cheaper here in the Netherlands but there is only 3 people I trust enough to order my tarantula's from

Fantastic new addi(c)tions :D
Bahahahaha! Thanks!
i quit going to the movies because of your channel never stop bro
Bahahaha! Thanks so much, bud!
Ohh Harpactiras...nice! And def some havent heard of and cant wait to hear more when you cover them. Bonus moult as well :)
p.s if you want small and one that seems to stay small for ever get an A Marksi. I have trouble spotting it at the moment. Hopefully moult any day soon.
Yeah, I'm really stoked about these. They are such cool little guys!
And I will definitely check out the A. marksi! Sounds right up my alley. Thanks!
Ever thought about a Harpactira communal?
They are all so cute. They are beautiful too. One molted while shipping. That is a hardy species. Hope they are all females and they grow up as beautiful as they began.

Thanks Tom, it does! I feel a tad bit more prepared than I did. Good luck with your little ones!
I bought 3 feather leg baboons from them! At the narbc tinley park show. It was 2 mature females and 1 almost mature male❤❤
Sounds like someone has a breeding project in mind? :)
And I'm still waiting for your next faves vid. ;)
Tanya is the best! Just an awesome person and great vendor.
I'm working on a video version of my Hybrid article now. It's a bit tricky as the article is so long. haha But, yes...I'm on it! :)
And I just posted the new favorites video. :) Thanks again!
Do you have any Orbweavers or do you keep mostly to tarantulas?
I'm kind of asking because I wish to buy one and custom its enclosure so any advice is super welcome. :)
(By the way, it will be my first insect type pet ever so I don't really know what I'm doing)
Unfortunately, not yet, although it's probably only a matter of time. :) I have mostly tarantulas and scorpions with some odd bugs here and there. :)
Your students would have their minds blown by a big jumping spider. They're so much easier to handle than any T as well. My girls get ours out to wander around almost every day.
Hey do you know if they ship to Indiana?
Oh, I'm sure that they do!
Thanks!
Great video the tiny slings are what I've currently got and have also just started my own channel and uploaded my first vid so if you have the time to watch any advice on improving would always be welcomed
awesome little guys
Thanks so much! Can't wait to grow them up. :)
Is fear not tarantulas located in the US?
Hi, Nikki! Yes it is!
I was worried about leaving the tube because I just got my first tarantula and was worried it would be bad for it.
Nope, just leave it in there. It won't harm anything. :)
Great video as always m8, just one pointer if I may, the P. sp. rufus is arboreal! Mind you like most arboreal sp it will probably burrow like mad lol
Old world species or new world? You got new one's I've never heard of Tom
Hi, Micheal! The Harparctira are all Old World species, as is the C. hoggi and the P. sp. rufus. I wanted to try out some new ones that you don't see quite often! :)
Tom Moran.. new toys
new adventures huh buddy lol
I'm surprised they shipped out the one that was molting they seem to take them down when they're about to molt
Sometimes, it's difficult to tell. They usually try to hold ones back that are obviously getting ready to molt, but it can happen.
Sometimes the stress of shipping will cause them to molt early to I've heard.
Awe your not going to do all of them boo cute new slings
Hahahaha. I was SO tired! hahaha. Thanks so much!
I'll have to order from her! Awesome t's by the way
She is amazing. VERY friendly, great communication and service, and she actually cares about the animals. And her selection lately has been fantastic. :)
Tom Moran yep I'm definitely buying from her!!! Thanks:) also how much is shiping
you have too.
Hey, Elizabeth! Here's a video I did with mine. ua-cam.com/video/QolzoYu03EE/v-deo.html
Great Ts mate, I wish I could find better species in UK as its same old all the time
Thanks, bud! I'm just seeing these species up for sale over here. Usually, you guys get the good ones first. :)
Yes, still Binge-Watching
Hahaha Thanks, Tina!
is rufus a barking spider? "release the hounds!" ha, ha (seriously though, nice looking T)
Hahahahahaha! Thanks!
P.S. you have some really nice ink on your arm. can you show all of it? where did you get it done?
Do the slings not need to be able to breathe in transit!
They can breath just fine during shipping! :) They don't use up as much oxygen as we do for respiration. I've received at least 50 boxes of spiders in the mail over the years, and I've never had a single death due to suffocation, even with ones that took a few days to get here. :)
Tom Moran thanks for the info... I'm completely uneducated on this so was not criticising or trying to insinuate any mistreatment.
Tanya usually puts a few vent holes in the lids, they are just to small to see in the vids. I order from her as well. She's awesome!
I didn't take it that way at all! It blows my mind sometimes. :) As Michael stated, there are also holes in the shipping vials. I was totally freaked out the first time I ordered them through the mail, but I've had no issues. :)
Dizzy slings there.
Ha!
That's some expensive slings! :O
Yeah, luckily I was able to work out a great trade. :)
