Thanks so much for subscribing! Yeah, these guys are super pricey these days. Personally, I would hold off until you have some more experience under you belt, as they tend to be rather finicky as slings. That said, if you've done your research and feel ready, then give them a try. The trick is good ventilation and not to overdue it with moisture. Good luck, and thanks again!
Thanks, Mike! Well, I set this one up like I would an avic. Substrate mostly dry with a water dish and good cross ventilation. I've only had this one for about 10 months or so, and I didn't raise it from a sling, so I don't want to give too much info yet!
I have a Yborapora diversipes I've had for about 6 months , thing makes me nervous because I see so many stories of Avic/ex-avics dying with no explanation but he/shes been doing fine
Great video and T! I had heard that putting a sling in a larger enclosure can actually increase their growth rate to some extent. Have you found this to be the case at all Tom?
Thank you so much, Dee! I have not found that myself. That said, keeping them in something too cramped could, I guess, stunt their growth? Interesting question there... :)
I have one of these.. Is yours also quite skiddish, fast and a great feeding response? Mine even charged at me once while i was taking pictures.. feisty little things 😅 Guess mine is about the same size.. Absolutely beautiful
That thing is absolutely stunning! Everytime I go to buy one when they're available, they sell out! 😂 Guess I'll stick with the 2 C Laeta and 2 Versicolor I have to rehouse in a bit. Trying out the small arboreal Zilla MicroHabitat rubber band enclosures, gotta drill some extra ventilation though! 👍
Hello Tom, Do you have a video showing exactly what to look for to identify when a T is in premolt with before and during examples of premolt? If not would you mind doing a video on it in the future?
Hey, Tom another question. I have a colony of assassin bugs but my roaches “colonies” are really small. You said you ordered crickets for your collection. Is it feasible to order crickets just every week until my roach colonies explode? Also where did you buy them from?
I would get boxes off of eBay and keep them for a month or so while I fed them all out. The only issue now is that the post office is so messed up, that I wouldn't trust them for shipping. That means you would have to go FedEx, which would cost a bundle. Sometimes pet stores will sell you boxes for bulk prices. I have a local one now that sells me 1000 for $25. Maybe you could ask around?
Always very informative videos dude. But ya, your knife sharpening game needs some work. It's therapeutic for me. I just turn on a podcast and mindlessly grind. Having a good stone as well will help. Anything Japanese is gonna yield you good results.
are pothos safe for spiders? i think they look really beautiful in a terrarium. they are very robust and easy to multiply. i have some but didnt use them in my enclosures, because i read that they are poisonous
Sorry for the late reply, Kasie! These guys can be a bit on the tricky side as they are a bit less tolerant of husbandry mistakes. Just a heads up. That said, if you provide them with good care, you'll do fine.
Hi, Candy! So, it really depends on what you consider "room temperature" to be. It would do fine in high 60s or above, but I wouldn't keep it much cooler than that for any period of time.
Hello Tom, I have read that these can be defensive and skittish, would you say that's true, I have raised Caribena Versicolor from sling to juvenile, are they much the same temperament ? Kindest regards, Joanne 🐺

@@TomsBigSpiders oh it's unfortunate when you wish to get female but instead getting male, do you know someone with a female at least? Is it also true that these species are one of the most defensive pinktoes available? I think every spiders can have defensive individuals even from genus that's known to be pretty calm but y.diversipes seems to be accepted as generally defensive species meaning it's their normal temperament usually but is there any truths to that? I also got mold on cork bark even with pretty good ventilation do you have any methods that 100% prevents mold? By the way I also would like to thank you for the catch cup method for rehousing that's 100% escape proof it's something I learned from you :)

I mean, if she's eating well, it's not that big of a deal. I wouldn't worry yet. She just might be slow to settle in or hasn't found a spot she likes out of the coverage that you have provided.
Hey! Can someone pls help me out? I'm about to get a chaco golden knee t. sling(1 inch). Can I use a water dish as people say that they will drown in it?🙏🏻
You can use a small water dish at that size. A healthy sling will not drown in a water dish. I like to use the caps from bottle water bottles. Hope that helps!

Thank you, Stephanie!
Just put an order in for 2. Wish me look.👍
Good luck, Tom!
I subbed bcoz I see slipknot and cannibal corpse and we're both metalheads.
Heck, yeah! We're seeing Slipknot again next month. Can't wait. Thanks!
So females of this one really do exist! I'm 4 for 4 with males :-( Beautiful spider!
We shall see. I still haven't sexed that molt. :)
Thanks, now I have another on my "must have" list!🤣
Hahahahaha Sorry, Bobbi!
@@TomsBigSpiders I don't think you are...😂
We have yet to aquaire one of these but want one so badly
Hopefully, you can find one soon! I didn't realize how difficult they were to come by.
My local pet store sells them. I only have space for a single T so I get 6-9 crickets at a time.
Always very informative videos dude. But ya, your knife sharpening game needs some work. It's therapeutic for me. I just turn on a podcast and mindlessly grind. Having a good stone as well will help. Anything Japanese is gonna yield you good results.
My oldest son usually sharpens them for me. haha
are pothos safe for spiders?
i think they look really beautiful in a terrarium.
they are very robust and easy to multiply.
i have some but didnt use them in my enclosures, because i read that they are poisonous
I haven't had any issues with them, but I read that, too. I'm keeping a close eye on the ones that have them, and so far I've seen no ill effects.
Are these okay spiders for beginners or would you say they need more intermediate to advanced care?
Sorry for the late reply, Kasie! These guys can be a bit on the tricky side as they are a bit less tolerant of husbandry mistakes. Just a heads up. That said, if you provide them with good care, you'll do fine.
Can you keep her at room temperature ???
Thanks Candy
Hey, John! Yes, they tend to be a little more high strung than C. versicolor or A. avicularia.
@@TomsBigSpiders thank you Tom, I have one on the way 🙃 regards Joanne 🐺
Cannibal corpse hoodie and a Slipknot tee, can you get any cooler?
Hey, Mark! Hahaha Thank so much, bud. I have to rep the old bands. haha
@@TomsBigSpiders Took my son to see slipknot before covid. Best show ever. I've seen Cannibal Corpse a dozen times, they're from my home town of Buffalo.
Is this another kind of Pink Toe tarantula?
Hi, Chad! As a matter of fact, it is. It used to be Avicularia diversipes.
Great video Tom, Rob is an excellent guy. Recently I started a series I am working on called Tarantula tales with different youtubers. It was inspired by Rob and how he got into the hobby. Would be an honour if you could check it out, possibly get invovlved in an episode in the future.
Al
I will add one of these until the weather rises
Awesome, Mehmet!
Amazing video and amazing species! were you able to find out the gender yet? :)
Hey, Suleyman! Yup...it was a boy. haha After rehousing, he went into premolt and came out a month later as a mature male.
My ybyrapora diversipes is 9cm. It's been a month since I changed her house, and I've put in enough structures, but there's no web. She eats well. What should I do? 😭
What a pretty T.
Thank you, Matthew!
They could give me one, LOL 😂😆
"Or, you could just give Melody one!" I'll say that next time! hahaha :)
Hey Tom. I sent you an email and a FB message, as well as this comment. I’m either an over-achiever or super annoying. Probably the latter. I’m moving a bunch of juveniles and slings. If you are interested in a list for purchase, let me know. Great video by the way! Love this species but I heard they have super nasty hairs so I have avoided them. Has this been your experience?
Hey, bud! Can you shoot me a list of the ones that you have for sale? I'd be happy to take a look. I'll go dig through my email in a moment to see if I can find your email! Sorry!
@@TomsBigSpiders - email sent.
Lucky dog was going to buy one but too scared of it dying on me
Awwww. Thanks, Marie! So far, this one seems to be doing well.
I find these to prefer smaller prey.
Great tip!
What's the exact humidity you keep her at? Just kidding 🤣
Wiseass. Bahahahahahahahaha!!! Seriously, that just made me laugh.

@@oskytango :)
Huh. I've heard of this one, but never see it for sale. It must be difficult to export, difficult to breed, or both. Pretty!
It was originally Avicularia diversipes, so that might sound more familiar. And I wonder myself why they are so scarce. Thanks, bud!
Had mine for over a year and I never see it lmao
Hey, Lukas! Yeah, I catch this one out when the lights first go out in the morning.
@@TomsBigSpiders Mines super sensitive to sound. I can be barely talking and she'll Bolt out of her web and try and get at the lid but she grew out of that and now only comes out at night or first thing in the morning. Beautiful though! If they aren't coming out all the time ya know you did something right 🤣
someone send Tom a Thailand Black its time Tom sorry lol.
Hahahaha. I'm working on it!
I'll shoot you a pic in messenger of mine. I have no idea as it shreds it's molt. Hoping the picture shows colors enough to say male or female.
Hello, Richard! Where did you send the pic to?
@@TomsBigSpiders crap. Life happened. We're friends on Facebook. I'll send it now.
