My Gumdrop has thrived under my care using your husbandry guide and even friends that aren't fond of spiders are amazed by her colors and the changes she's had with each molt. Thanks for making this video, I will be sharing with folks so I don't have to go and google "colorful tarantulas" by color to show them just how stunning these creatures can be.
I know exactly what documentary you're talking about. That was where I first saw them. :) The are such unique and beautiful tarantulas. Thanks so much!
Excellent video, some really great choices in there. I honestly don't believe there's such a thing as an ugly tarantula, but I know there's a lot of people out there who'll disagree. Most of my friends aren't tarantula people, but you're right, they all agree that the colours on my spiders are beautiful. My personal favourite at the moment in my collection is my 2 inch Ybyrapora Diversipes, it's like an eight legged rainbow, so pretty
Hi, Robert! I agree completely, but folks not into the hobby can take some convincing. I NEED to get that species. It definitely would have been included. They are stunning. :)
Received a 4-inch P. sp. green femur female two days back, gotta thank you for spreading the word on these beautiful tarantulas! The greens are just about there. Spent HOURS (10?) in the pill jar it came in and eventually I decided to encourage her a bit with a poking stick. Poor poking stick, let's just say that. :P Otherwise quite laid back.
Caribena versicolor is one of my absolute favorites! Unfortunately it also happens to be the one tarantula I've had die on me, pretty sure she slipped, fell on the side of her water dish, and couldn't climb out because she was injured. I know it wasn't due to bad conditions cause I've had no issues with how i keep my Avicularia avicularia slings and also that versicolor had had at least 3 healthy molts in that enclosure. Drained the water from the dish and let her be for a couple days but she was motionless. She had been healthy and active up until that night when I found her in her water dish. Oh well. Had to happen eventually that I'd lose one. That was awhile ago. I think that may have actually been one of yours too! Because I bought it from fear not at tinley in march 2018! Beautiful species. Wish mine was still kickin, but the sacmate my friend has is still thriving! Anyways, great video! I love helping friends and family learn to appreciate the beauty of tarantulas! I've managed to even convince my parents that my G. pulchripes is pretty! They're not going to be joining the hobby anytime soon but I've definitely helped them see the beauty of these amazing animals!
Hi, Vicki! Awwwww...I'm so sorry to hear that. UGH. That's such a shame. :( I lost one of the C. versicolor slings that I produced earlier this year after a bad molt, and I'm still bummed about it. Sometimes, it's just out of our control. :( And thank you so much! And the G. pulchripes is one of my favorite species...I have four of them. haha That's awesome. Thanks again!
i know I'm righting this to late. but definitely should have put a T. seladonia. I no its probably not one that you own. but still one of the most beautiful tarantulas in the world.
Hi, Stephanie! Yup, they sure are pretty. Unfortunately, I don't have one and they are currently illegal to sell in the US, so I don't want to put a spider on there that is not available.
Makes me want more spiders, have one that needs a boyfriend. You know honestly they are pretty much Pokemon once you get started. Thank you for another great video Tom!
Nice work bro, and of course amazing specimens! Lol I was recently just talking to some people about the stereotypical "all just giant brown/black hairy spiders" concept, and even often do the same pulling out some pictures like you just showed! People may choose to not be of interest when it comes to the hobby sure, but I can't count how many times I've heard that common misconception pertaining tarantulas, and then you watch as they mentally get their legs pulled from under them as they see a golden blue leg baboon, gooty sapphire (or any of the Poecilotheria really), and the GBB of course lol! This at least helps gain more valid insight towards the hobby, and potentially helping more people be interested wich helps the hobby as well. I typically end up saying "I do have a species that is just all dark brown/black and hairy though......but it's hairs are a very daunting defense mechanism you don't want to mess with, and while mine is still at the sling/juvenile size, here's a picture of it fully grown" and show them the theraphosa stirmi mature female with a person next to it for size comparison! Lol I had one person ask me if I intend to put a leash on it and take it for a walk? Lol I thought that was an interesting idea, and very funny picturing that! "Good afternoon, can we have a booth, and preferably in a dim lit area in regards to my service animal?.......hello? Where did the hostess go?". Besides that amusing situation, thinking of trying to put a harness on a fully grown theraphosa doesn't sound much like a fun time!
YES! I love seeing the looks on their faces when I show them some of the colorful ones. "Wait, they come in PURPLE??" haha Many will actually soften their anti tarantula stance and ask more questions after that. Hahaha. Man, a tarantula support animal would be amazing. I might have to look into that... haha Thanks again!
@@TomsBigSpiders lol I agree. As far As the senses go the tarantula has a leg up (haha) on what dogs are capable of......might solve the whole "don't pet the support animals" thing as well. I actually picture Tim Allen from "jungle 2 jungle" with the kids pet goliath tarantula "matika". Lol I'll admit that, home alone, arachnophobia, and 8 legged freaks are strong driving forces for initially being interested in tarantulas! It's also important to watch for the things online that have been photoshopped, edited, and mislabled I've seen in regards to the color aspects with people new to the subject. I saw a xenesis photoshopped over in purple (the violet colored substrate made that very obvious) and is was labeled as a brazilian blue lol. But I agree about trying to get passed the barrier when people have a bias stance against taking in information pertaining to certain subjects for varying reasons. And even more so agree that the look on people's faces when they not only get to see the full spectrum of the color scene, but find alot of the stereotypically miscommunicated information is seen for the actual information is quite prominent! A good example of that is the venom/bite aspect. Yes if they decide to turn and bite they may be able to do some damage depending on the situation, but having it in their minds they are big bad kill in one bite venomous monsters couldn't be any farther from the truth! Lol I just the other day had to repeat to someone several times what a "dry bite" was, and they seemed to believe somehow that a tarantula (or any spider for that matter) couldn't NOT bite without doing that no matter how much I tried to explain the venom is mainly for eating, not as much self defence in most cases, let alone go on the attack. That led into explaining that the only attacking they do is in the interest of eating prey, and besides sustenance it's self defence only if simply avoiding the situation isn't possible wich is almost always what they move towards 1st! But if cornered in a situation where it's kill or be killed then perhaps people would see a mean streek, but however in those circumstances it will be provoked to be that way, and the opposing force deserves whatever injuries/loss that is incrued! Lol in those circumstances someone would be hard pressed to honestly state they would do any different really! Or any living thing that can actively defend themselves for that matter!
Heteroscodra maculata is one of my favs as well. I have not seen a video of Haploclastus devamatha before. I did see it when shopping before and thought it looked nice but the price turned me away. Seeing it here makes me want to get one someday. Definately on the list.
That's my wife's favorite. haha (the H. mac). As for the H. devamatha, the prices are finally starting to come down a bit. Here is a video featuring one of mine. ua-cam.com/video/1lmfUbWlDto/v-deo.html
You are one of the few collectors that have so many different colored T's. Some say they have colors but they are all different shades of brown, tan and black. You have a fantastic collection. I love all of your T's.
@@TomsBigSpiders That's what I mean. Some think their T's have color when they are not solid brown. But your T's ARE colorful. You have so many kinds. I sub to Tarantulapedia too and there are some newly discovered breeds of T. Very beautiful, but it will be years if ever that these newbies will be in the hands of collectors.
I love your thumbnail reminds me of blackest night from dc comics! Hope all is well with you, liquidated my collection a couple years back because life got in the way and getting back into the swing of things now all is settled! Hope the best for you an yours in todays world
Please make more! The exposures are not only helping me ease my fears of tarantulas, they're also helping me become more open-minded and increasing my interest to bring them home!
I recently found your channel and got my first tran (honduran curly haired) after watching your 1st starter recommendation. That said, I lovelovelove this particular video. i've watched it multiple times. Love the variety of colors and patterns. Thanks for doing these videos. Planning a gbb next.
So sorry for the delay in responding! Thank you so much! This was a lot of fun to put together. I use this video to try to convert people who think that tarantulas are ugly. :)
@@TomsBigSpiders my phobic mom told me yesterday in a thought pondering voice "I've never seen a blue spider." after I posted pics on fb of my C. versicolor sling, Tribble.
Wonderful video! I loved all the species you featured - beautiful rainbow spiders. Maybe you could do a black and white video, with the P. regalis and H. Mac? That would be awesome too. Great video!
Hey, guys! Thank so much! I was originally going to have H. mac, P. regalis, and G. pulchra on the end (White and black), but I couldn't find good footage of all three. Billie and I were JUST discussing the doing a black and white version next. I agree completely! :)
I've never seen the lava spider before. It's gorgeous! 😍 Where exactly is the Caribena from? Love all the colorful ones but I still prefer my jet black Grammostola Pulchra 🖤
I love that little girl. There's just nothing quite like that species. The C. versicolor are found on some of the Caribbean Island of Martinique. The G. pulchra was supposed to be on this, but I ended up cutting the black and white tarantulas off. I may have to do another vid for them. Thanks, Leslie!
Far as I know there are no c versi elsewhere than martinique. But there are even 2 different kinds on that island, in the north an arboreal species, on the south a terrestrial. Don't know if they are genetically different or just their behavior. The ones in the hobby are all arboreals, if you ever find a keeper who has a terrestrial, please bloody his nose for poaching an endangerd species.
Always binge-watch you, the Ts, Farting, Clicking Dogs, and Billie, on my Roku on the Flat Screen then I go back on my computer to Thumbs up and sometimes comment. Just so you know. So interesting, Always Entertaining. I Love Love Love your channel.
Ha! We just put some of the videos up on the Roku the other night! My monitor is only 720p, so I've never seen them in full HD. haha Thank you so much!
Once again Tom just a fabulous video. I have a few of the species you highlighted. They're all just stunning and the colors that some tarantulas have are just vibrant and beautiful. Every molt I get so excited because I know that one of my babies has grown. I'm so nervous for the first pairing of my Pterinopelma sazimai and Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens. I hope everything goes well And take care Tom. I'll see you in your next episode.
I'm so sorry for the delay in replying! Thank you so much! Good luck on your pairings! Watch your male with the GBB...the ladies are notoriously munchy with them. :)
@@TomsBigSpiders well your absolutely right because my friend who had the Male lost him because of his female. He wasn't fast enough to save him. I really appreciate your support and replying Tom.
@@TomsBigSpiders if you don't mind I'm sending you a message on Facebook. I have a couple of questions but I would like to ask you there. Plus send you a photo of my Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens female named "Azure ".
This is what my tarantula rainbow would be: Red- Grammostola rosea or Selenocosmiinae sp. Bloody Red "North Luzon" which is actually going to be scientifically described soon. Definitely check that species out if you havent seen it before. Orange- Pterinochilus murinus or Orphnaecus philippinus Yellow- Encyocratella olivacea, Cyriopagopus schmidti or Orthnithoctoninae sp. "Ho chi Minh" DCF. Green- Poecilotheria rufilata Blue- Omothymus violaceopes Purple- Phormictopus sp. "Dominican purple" or Avicularia purpurea
Just picked up a Mexican red rump for 39.99. I was originally going to get a green bottle blue but they sell out almost exclusively. They also have Brazilian black but they're 130 bucks and will no longer import.
Beautiful showcase! I love the colors on these T's, though i know some other spiders are still beautiful even if they aren't as colorful (looking at you g pulchra!)
The G. pulchra was going to be on this list originally, but I cut black and white (I was going to use H. mac) off of it. I agree completely. Maybe in another video! :) Thanks !
@@TomsBigSpiders you are extremely good at caring for those beautiful animals. My daughter and I watched your vids yesterday forever, feel like i know you. Ive had a Rose hair, a stripe knee, and one i found walking across the street. Keep em coming
i found your videos while researching which to buy for my son. i did not know, spiders could be communal? i thought unless breeding (which we wont be) that they were solitary
Hello, there! Only certain species can be kept communally. The vast majority are solitary and cannibalistic. The species that does the best in this environment is the Monocentropus balfouri.
Have just popped over to your channel from The Dark Den. As someone who still has a 'discomfort' around the Giant House spiders you see in the UK at this time of year, I love watching videos of people passionate about tarantulas. What you all do makes a difference, so will happily subscribe to you too.
Thank you so much, Sam! I truly appreciate it! I actually was terrified of spiders, and I got my first tarantula 23 years ago partially to help me get over that fear. :)
Thank you so much, I live in Hawaii so even though I see plenty of rainbows, I doubt tarantulas are even aloud here. I only owned one when I was younger, a beautiful rose hair who molted 3 xs while I had her. Sadly I couldn't handle the uneaten crickets & I donated her to a school. Too bad I didn't have all the info 30 years ago or you tube!!! So thanks so much for sharing these videos!!!
Hi, Jamie! Oh...that's a good question! They might not allow them there as they could become invasive species. Awwww...at least she went to a good home. Thank you so much!
You’re welcome! You have beautiful Ts! I had no idea you could keep p. Metallicas communally like that... makes for a beautiful scene! Do you ever have issues with them and what is the male/female ratio and do they breed freely or do you have a system to dissuade them from that? Sorry I know that is a lot of questions but I love the idea of communal enclosures when you can.. The balfouri is the only species I have seen live communally before so I am very intrigued....thanks for sharing your beautiful spiders!
very nice compilation! great idea actually Tom! I bought D Diamentinensis again a BTS too pretty not to have it in collection. Definitely going for Phormictopus next
Awesome video as usual Tom. Thank you for this. I just picked up a C. Versicolor sling and it's become my favorite by far. Don't mean to hijack this video, but I really also want to ask you to do a video and/or blog post on all the brouhaha surrounding Birupes simoroxigorum. There are a lot of heated opinions out there (mine included), and I think your tempered and even-keeled perspective on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks so much, Brian (and so sorry for the delay in replying!). I've been thinking about covering the B. simoroxigorum. It's definitely a VERY important topic to the hobby, and as you say, folks are VERY passionate on both sides.
My favourite is my h gigas. She's very beautiful but incredibly shy, I only see her when she's having a swim in her pool. She's also brown and enormous 😂
@TomsBigSpiders they're very misunderstood, I've never had any hint of aggression from mine. The feeding response is amazing and I sometimes think that what people think is aggression is maybe they can't see very well and just think everything is a snack!
Australia is mostly like 50 shades of brown but there are some out there not seen by the peasants yet LOL jokes but I have heard things on the grapevine. But we do have some really nice shades of browns with blacks and reds and silvers and it's what we have. They are still awesome. They make up for their lack of bling with a big attitude.
@@TomsBigSpiders Even between states here is strict, sending to and from WA and even NT is hard I think Tasmania there are a lot of protections we can't send a lot of mainland wildlife to TAS and vica verca.
Great vid as always Tom! I was quite surprised that you didn’t include O. phillippinus. And where is Ephebopus murinus??? Probably the most beautiful T in my collection, or second to C. lividus.
Hi, Ted! It's funny, as I just recorded my podcast and mentioned how some folks were offended or surprised that I didn't include a species they like. The idea was to do rainbow colors. As it was getting a bit long, I left off black and white. For the O. philippinus, I didn't like the footage I had, and when I attempted to get a better shot, she hid. My E. murinus spends most of his time hiding, and it didn't fit the ROYGBIV colors I was going for.
Tom Moran Ahh, I see. My E. murinus used to spend all of her time in her burrow. I got tired of looking at a hole, so I housed her into a terrestrial setup, and she’s webbed up the enclosure and now spends most of her time out in the open :)
Fabulous idea and work. You can totally see your a teacher and I love it. Thank you so much for this video because I always want to show ppl who are afraid the beautiful Ts and now I have it at my fingertips because of you. Thank you🙌🏻😍🕷🕸💜
Great video! At the 5 minute mark what kind of substrate is that I like the look of it better than just the browns from tree bark, coconut husk and wood chips
I would love to see more like this! Maybe with just a bit more info on the basic things to know about each... i am new to these creatures and am searching for the perfect one for me. Again, excellent work! Thank you.
Hi, Jillian! I will definitely do more in the future. I didn't go nuts on the info with this one because it was more a "fun" one, but I could definitely do a more informative one. :)

Hi Tom absolutely loved this video. Must of taken you a while to film and put the colours together. My favourite was the H.pulchripes, so pretty. Thanks for sharing this with us 😁👍
Sorry for the delay, Anna! Yeah, this one took a bit! haha. I couldn't get good footage of some of them. Thanks so much! (The H. pulchripes is one of my top 3 favorite species. :))
Great vid Tom loved it. You need a Haplocosmia himalayana in your collection with purple legs, sandy colour banding absolutely stunning, chocolate brown abdomen, sandy golden carapace an real beauty.
@@TomsBigSpiders that'd be great, man! I'm starting to see how some of these dwarf species really get overlooked because they don't get huge. It seem like a lot of them make up for it with big personalities.
So many colors, still surprised how many of the burrowing spiders or trap doorish like the T. Seladonia have beautiful colors and patterns, it doesn’t seem like very practical camouflage
Tom I have a question and I always since I started keeping T’S ask you as you give me so much info and you videos taught me everything I know! I have two OBTs now in September they will be a year since I received them and they both were 1/4 inch slings so small anyway man they grew like wildfire and both molted a day apart from each other and both are males but now have hooks so I take it they are mature all my other T’S that are adult are female I was lucky my point is now that they are mature should I feed them differently as I normally feed 2 times a week my slings and once a week for my adults I feed guy loaded crickets and also about how long will they live now that are mature? I heard so many different things but I really want to ask you! Thanks Tom
@@nicoledonohoe2808 Hi, Nicole. It's funny, as I just recorded a podcast, and I was talking about how slowly my OBT grew. What temps do you keep yours at? I'm just curious, as this seems to be a species that can have widely different growth rates depending on the temperatures it's kept at. If you want to keep the males around for a while, keep them in a cooler location. This will help to extend their lives a bit. Also, you can continue feeding them once a week. Males tend to spend more energy wandering around in search of a mate, and they tend to get skinny quickly. You'll want to keep them well fed. As far as how much time they have left, I've had mature baboon males that keep eating last a year or more. I've had others that don't last as long. If you keep them a bit cooler (perhaps in a cooler room or on a lower shelf) and keep them well fed, a year shouldn't be too far fetched. :)
Thanks so much for the info as always mine are kept in my son Ryan’s room as it’s warm he has a a wall that’s shelves so we decided to keep all the T’S in his room as it’s warm so they are I want to say 75 degrees I live in NJ Cape May and Even now with the summer it’s really warm as Ryan hardly ever uses his air we were afraid of it being to cool with the air conditioner! I will now that I know bring all the T’S out in the living room!! We always thought the warmest place was best that’s why I asked you what is best ! last night both our male OBTs where transferred into there finally enclosures ofcourse I did it with the cardboard and the catch cup attached with the holes so we can use the paint brush to move them along and I must say it went well and I was shocked not threat posture lol because ours are nasty little buggers you move the enclosure and they are acting up The one is absolutely psycho lol I will say this the one was so crazy when I used the brush to very gently coasted him im he jump so quick To the other side an ran around the enclosures super fast my jaw dropped how quick lol but I let him calm down and tried again and he ran right up so all in all two OBT rehouses when pretty well !! Thanks again for all your help 🕷🖤
I loved this video! So many gorgeous spiders! I think this would be perfect to show people who think tarantulas are ugly. I dpn't see how, after seeing the video, anyone could use ugly to describe them.
Thank you so much. I can definitely do another one in the future. :) And great point! I only have the gold version right now, and none of them would come out to get filmed. haha
The title made me think that it would be 20 minutes of an A. Versicolor running around an enclosure. That spider alone is a walking rainbow.

This is a FANTASTIC video. Thank you SO much for putting it out for us !!!
Thank YOU for commenting, Mary!
Tom, if you allow me....you should make a poster with that image of the rainbow tarantulas. Amazing image....for the rest....as always a good video :D
Thank so much, Nuno! That image is actually from a poster I made and sold a couple years ago! :)
ALL of them are GORGEOUS!! They look like expensive jewelry. So so pretty.
Thank you so much, Judy! They really do! :)
Whoa Tom! That was an absolutely stunning video. thanks for sharing and a great idea! Justin
Thank you so much, Justin! :)
Too bad I couldn’t like this video more then once! Or too bad there is not a ❤️ button to press. Great content again Tom! You’re killing it right now
I just spent the whole video gushing over them all!
Awwww...thanks! :)
You are one of the few collectors that have so many different colored T's. Some say they have colors but they are all different shades of brown, tan and black. You have a fantastic collection. I love all of your T's.
Hi, Joyce! Don't get me wrong; I love the brown and earthy toned ones, too. However, there are just SO many pretty colors to choose from. haha
With the OBTs.. Never mess with a fiery red head... Bad tempers. X
Bahahaha. Very well put! :)
Everytime I hear you say "but" while looking at tarantulas, I think about the tarantula's abdomen
Hahaha
I love your thumbnail reminds me of blackest night from dc comics! Hope all is well with you, liquidated my collection a couple years back because life got in the way and getting back into the swing of things now all is settled! Hope the best for you an yours in todays world
I can totally see that! haha Thank you!
Just beautiful.
Thank you!
Wow! They really are beautiful! 🕷💜💜🕷
They sure are, Lisa! Thank you!
Please make more! The exposures are not only helping me ease my fears of tarantulas, they're also helping me become more open-minded and increasing my interest to bring them home!
That's awesome! As someone who used to be terrified of spiders, that means a lot. Thanks!
Awesome rainbow list
Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks so much! It was fun to do. :)
What a awesome list of beautiful spiders. As always keep up the awesome work.👍
Thanks so much, bud! This was a lot of fun to put together. :)
This is beautiful and informative! Thank you for putting this together!
Thanks so much, Pam!
Great video, Tom. Very informative. I'm trying to get my wife to let me keep one in the garage. We have an adult granddaughter who's an Arachnophobe.
Hello, Tom! Good luck with convincing her! Sometimes, it just takes time. :)
my fav tarantula youtuber
Man, thank you so much, Justin! :)
I think my favorite colorful tarantulas are the good old GBB and harpactira pulchripes
Can't argue with those!
Great video! I would love to see more videos like this one!
Thank you, Meyer! I'll definitely do another in the future!
Great video, Tom! super loved it
Thank you so much! :)
Top quality content, thanks Tom.
Thank you!
T’s are creepy beautiful scary gorgeous spooky and adorable! I go nuts over how cute their paws are!
Hi, Laurel! haha. Agreed!
They are all stunning. Great Video.
Thank you so much, Channy!
the variety of colours is just amazing thx for showing the full spectrum
Thanks so much! I was glad that I was able to pull it off. :)
I read that green is the rarest color on tarantulas. The green is stunning! Wonderful video, Tom. Thank you. Phormictopus are quite a genus. Love em.
Hey, Shanti! Yes, I've heard the same...which is odd considering that it would make for better camouflage than blue or orange. :) Thanks so much!
I love all of them
Hahaha Me, too! :)
Enjoyed this very much, great video
Thank you, Marla!
I hope everything goes well
And take care Tom.
@@ibnsarachnids9175 I was just discussing this with another keeper. One guy who was trying to breed them went through three males with one female! :(
@@TomsBigSpiders if you don't mind I'm sending you a message on Facebook. I have a couple of questions but I would like to ask you there. Plus send you a photo of my Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens female named "Azure ".
Great video Tom. Any chance of a video explaining the differences between a T Stirmi and T Blondi ?
Thanks again from the UK 🇬🇧
That's a great idea...thanks! Yes, I can definitely work on something. :)
This is what my tarantula rainbow would be:
Red- Grammostola rosea or Selenocosmiinae sp. Bloody Red "North Luzon" which is actually going to be scientifically described soon. Definitely check that species out if you havent seen it before.
Orange- Pterinochilus murinus or Orphnaecus philippinus
Yellow- Encyocratella olivacea, Cyriopagopus schmidti or Orthnithoctoninae sp. "Ho chi Minh" DCF.
Green- Poecilotheria rufilata
Blue- Omothymus violaceopes
Purple- Phormictopus sp. "Dominican purple" or Avicularia purpurea
Awesome list...can't argue with that!
Just picked up a Mexican red rump for 39.99. I was originally going to get a green bottle blue but they sell out almost exclusively.
They also have Brazilian black but they're 130 bucks and will no longer import.
Congrats, Chris! Man, those Brazilian blacks are so pricey!
:) Thanks !
Still waiting on the greyscale video Tom! ;) Love this one
I'm working on it! haha Some of these guys are so shy!
@@TomsBigSpiders True! that would be an awesome video haha.
Good video!!
Just added some to my wish list
Thank so much! :)
One rainbow I wouldn't want to taste.
Hahaha. Yup...no for me, too.
@@TomsBigSpiders you are extremely good at caring for those beautiful animals. My daughter and I watched your vids yesterday forever, feel like i know you. Ive had a Rose hair, a stripe knee, and one i found walking across the street. Keep em coming
Excellent video my friend.
Thank you so much!
i found your videos while researching which to buy for my son. i did not know, spiders could be communal? i thought unless breeding (which we wont be) that they were solitary
All I can say is WOW! So much beauty in 1 video.
Thank you, Helen!
Thank you Tom!
Thank YOU for commenting!
Awesome video. I've got a few on this list myself. Great picks, I'll definitely be using this video as a reference in the future. Great job Tom 🤘
Thanks so much! I was glad that I could finally put it together! :)
Great video and great shirt!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this amazing video Tom. In my eyes, ALL Tarantulas are beautiful 💞💗💞
Thanks so much, Claudi! :) I agree!
Yes they are!! 😍😍😍
Thanks, Zie! :)
Hey, bud! Thanks so much. They ARE just so darned pretty. And I obviously LOVE the Phormictopus species. haha
Beautiful
Thank you, Bobbie!
Outstanding stuff.
Thank you, William!
My favourite is my h gigas. She's very beautiful but incredibly shy, I only see her when she's having a swim in her pool. She's also brown and enormous 😂
I have two 11-year-old females that I absolutely adore. So big and beautiful!
Hahahahaha! I love Aussie Ts and I wish that we had more species available in the States (but good on Australia for protecting its wildlife).
@@TomsBigSpiders Even between states here is strict, sending to and from WA and even NT is hard I think Tasmania there are a lot of protections we can't send a lot of mainland wildlife to TAS and vica verca.
Stunning tarantulas Tom! Thanks for another wonderful video to unwind after a long day.
Thanks so much, Emily! :)
brilliant video. thanks so much. loved it.
Thanks so much, Justin!
Thank you so much, Tom! A very enjoyable video! So pretty.
Thank you! :)
Fabulous idea and work. You can totally see your a teacher and I love it. Thank you so much for this video because I always want to show ppl who are afraid the beautiful Ts and now I have it at my fingertips because of you. Thank you🙌🏻😍🕷🕸💜
And thank YOU for the very kind words! I really appreciate it! I've already used this a couple times already. haha
Great video! At the 5 minute mark what kind of substrate is that I like the look of it better than just the browns from tree bark, coconut husk and wood chips
That's topsoil mixed with a bit of vermiculite. I use either Scott's brand or Timberline. Thanks!
@@TomsBigSpiders and just those 2 alone will create that color? That's the look I'm going for.. thanks for the quick reply

Hey, Eric! I know, I thought the same thing. I'm going to hide all of the time and ambush things...so I might as well have stunning colors? haha

Great video Tom as always Hi Billy!
Thank you, Nicole! And she says "hi!". :)
We always thought the warmest place was best that’s why I asked you what is best ! last night both our male OBTs where transferred into there finally enclosures ofcourse I did it with the cardboard and the catch cup attached with the holes so we can use the paint brush to move them along and I must say it went well and I was shocked not threat posture lol because ours are nasty little buggers you move the enclosure and they are acting up
The one is absolutely psycho lol I will say this the one was so crazy when I used the brush to very gently coasted him im he jump so quick To the other side an ran around the enclosures super fast my jaw dropped how quick lol but I let him calm down and tried again and he ran right up so all in all two OBT rehouses when pretty well !! Thanks again for all your help 🕷🖤
I loved this video! So many gorgeous spiders! I think this would be perfect to show people who think tarantulas are ugly. I dpn't see how, after seeing the video, anyone could use ugly to describe them.
