Stunningly beautiful! The most underrated voice of all time! Mark was so much more than he ever got credit for!! He could do so much with that beautiful voice!!!
🎯Bingo. & yet respected by all the the most respected musicians. Goes to show how much the mainstream press & record company promotions know. I've been lucky enough to see Mark perform on two separate occasions, at small clubs in Auckland, NZ. I'm not ashamed to say, I had my one time ever, obsessed-fan moment, before the first show he was playing in Auckland. I worked out that because he would be playing Christchurch on a certain day it meant he could only be flying up to the North Island on this specific date & still be able to do the Auckland show & that it could only be on a domestic flight. So I actually went out to the airport, feeling like a bit of a dick, & hung around for about four hours until I saw him & the other musicians & support crew arrive & begin exiting to a couple of curbside vehicles, so I figured now or never & why did I wait four hours if not to welcome him & pass on a couple of small & minor gifts, a greenstone ring & a small wooden box, lined with Paua shell, both specific & significant in NZ maori culture. He was seated in the minivan shuttle when I excused myself & said hello, mentioned the gifts, passed the bag & we shook hands while I briefly described the two items & that I was going to that night's show. Man, his gaze was intense, if you had any bullsh*t in what you were going to tell him, you would have just withered under that stare that he fixed on you. He would do the same thing to individuals when he was performing, at least it looked that way, his eyes would fix on an individual for a few minor seconds longer than seemed comfortable, intense & intimidating & I gathered, from many years of summing up the person he was interacting with.. So much so that I never remembered the 3 or so CD's I was hoping he might sign the inside cards of. I thanked him for the moment of his time & got out of his space & remembered the CD's when the van was diminishing from view. & I didn't care in the least, I was simply stoked to meet the man who had created some of my favourite albums of all time. RIP Mark.
Sometimes i imagine that i lived with those guys Mark, Layne and Kurt cause I was and I'm an addict as well , they kind of make me nostalgic for things i never done .
I think for a certain generation of us, it was the humanity & human frailties they acknowledged in their own journeys that appealed so much about the Seattle scene specifically. I do know I still own Temple of the Dog on CD, Vinyl & Tape & that after listening to that album thousands of times I could listen to it thousands more without any boredom whatsoever, the same with mother Love Bone's album, so many albums from all of those amazing bands & certainly all of Marks work. Morning Glory Wine my friend, good people don't drink it, but some of us have to discover the taste & find out it tastes us in return. Strange Religion. ✌️🇳🇿

The gospel according to Mark Lanegan, huh? Lol
Fantastic song, great voice, but the fiddler overplays
Is that maybe in the sound mix. It seems that it is a specific element to this song though I understand where your coming from.
