Awesome video. I've never met aggressive Russians so far. In fact, they are super friendly.
I'am British and i have so much respect for the Russian people,so straight talking fun loving friendly people who have always made me feel welcome in there country.
Well, one thing we have discovered from these questions: Russians have a great sense of humour.
Where you from norma??
They do seem much more like us than even English speaking countries in Europe. They are a very common sense people. None of this communist idiocracy we see in most places who want the government to take care of people who don't want to work. Though Russian doctors not owning a house or car seems like a broken system.
@@needparalegal Doctors not owning a house/car? Leftover from communism.
@@needparalegal Russian system is super broken and super corrupted. Doctor does not have a house but government officials have houses, yahts, luxury cars, billions of dollars.
@@normamimosa5991 in USSR doctors were living much better then now.
So many lovely people Russia. I think the internet is helping to bring us closer and see through stereotypes.
К сожалению, в Инете много и дезинформации, продуцирующей враждебность, предубеждения и злонамеренно искаженное (чаще всего путем подтасовок) представление о России.
agree with you .internet is like miracle in this age .
Unless you are a Liberal. Liberals hate Russians. Though they loved Soviets.
Logically, I always wanted to meet Americans.
Well if you got stuck on stereotypes promulgated by the western media you are sad. I have been living in Russia since 2015 I came to see for myself why they get all the bad press, not believing what the media tells me. I have also lived in America it is a great country such a pity it is full of Americans.
I graduated with my Russian friend Yuri from Oxford, we both work as software engineers, to me he is the most loyal friend I have and a resourceful fucking genius.
Russians are standoffish until you get to know them. It's just the culture; kind of like how they don't end sentences with an upward inflection unless they're asking a question. It's just how they are. But, once you unlock that achievement, a Russian person is one of the most loyal friends you will ever have. They're warm, funny and intelligent.
In Russian trust and friendship has to be earned. The US it is more commonly freely given. After some study and thought, I prefer the Russian view. A quality vs quantity argument.
Wow, thanks a lot. It was such an amazing interview. I really want to watch such things more.
First comment! It's great to hear honest comments from real people on the street. It's nice to see an American and Russians having a good dialouge together. Awesome work. Спасибо большое.
i delivered pizza to a russian family living here in italy and they were all smiling at me and interviewing me asking me if i can speak russian, i said no, and i said wait, spaseva i said they all laughed and shook my hand they were all nice. first time i met russians i always carry a good vibe with russians.
Love the scenery as much as the interviews. What a beautifull city ! And people ofcourse.
I’ll pay a visit sometime soon :)
Lived in Russia, best people in the world
yeah aside from the raging homophobia
@@myia3193 well Myia it is their country and they may do there as they please, and another reason why I love Russia they have morals and standards unlike the woke western world full of politically correct assholes, like you. They are a very religious country and everything that has become the norm in the west is questioned in Russia, with good reason.
The other thing is, looking around and after having been to Russia. In asking the question about marrying to come to the states, how do you figure we live better than them when you take everything into account? Definitely a stereotype of the immediate post soviet period. True freedoms, culture, quality of food, type of people, politics. It’s been my experience that Russia is actually becoming a far better place to live than the US and improving every year. The same cannot be said for the myriad of growing problems we have in the states today.
Everything outside of the big cities in Russia is trash, it's filled with poverty and corruption. Literally it's a shithole.
Zeshani I have some experience with areas outside cities in the countryside in Russia as well. I have seen poverty to be sure, but I’ve also seen very nice lovely homes in small villages far from big cities. But again if your honest, you can go to areas both inside our cities here in the US (homeless and ghettos) and out in the country (trailer parks run down shacks) and see extreme poverty here as well.
@@zeshani9861 it is just another dumb stereotype about Russia. As in any country there are some nice and some run down places. And it doesnt really matter is it a big city or not.
@@PaulV. It's not a rumor , do you know russia's wages/pensions/living standards ? Probably not. I myself have been to russia , i live in a country which was in the ussr. I talked to people who have relatives and who themselves have lived in russia outside of the big cities.
@@zeshani9861 ofc I know Russian living standarts. I am half-Russian half-American and living in both countries at the same time (NYC and Saint-Petersburg). While it is true that income of average Russian is very small by the US standarts his expenses are also very low and in the end he has enough cash to live a very descent life even from the Western pov.
«Я как посмотрела, как американцы бухают в Доминикане, так подумала, что наши ещё ничего»😂
Man russia seems like a cool place to visit
So many places I'd like to visit (like Russia) but you really have to know the language to really be accepted, which makes sense. I'm just not going to be able to do that.
Yekaterinburg is truly awesome at least. And the air is less polluted than Moscow.
"it's American men who want Russian women" me, an American man: "да."
It's both ways
Damn I mean they're not wrong ha
And both are either buying or selling love.
The fighter and older woman were the most knowledgeable 👍
All stereotypes from 90s 😆
"The fact that Americans have more guns makes them more peaceful, we don't have that here, so we just shout at each other." That made me laugh
Just imagine if everyone there carries kalashnikov
A famous British writer remarked on the gentility and politeness evident in the southern US during the Civil War era.Reckoned it was because everyone was armed to the teeth!
But many people prefer America because of so many computer talents like yahoo, google, Facebook, Instagram etc. Also american vaccines like Pfizer, moderna, Johnson Johnson recue many people around the world .
The most international sentence ever. Russian woman met an American man in Thailand where they were learning to speak Chinese.
This is a very interesting and entertaining video. It confirms my own experience on a 2 week visit, when I found that the people I got to talk with were generally of very good education, friendly and sincere. It's a terrible shame that government leaders incite fear of the other, when conspicuously, people are friendly and peace-loving everywhere.
It was a very good idea. To go to the streets rather than just state opinions as UA-camrs
This helped me understand them more 👏👏👏👏👏🤝🤝
Cool! I enjoyed your look into the Russian peoples lives. I have met many friendly Russians in the USA and Nha Trang, Vietnam, a favorite vacation spot for Russians from the east.
Beautiful boulevard and river view
People need to see these kinds of videos so that they will know and always be reminded that they are a lot more alike than different.
Professional fighter was the only one who was close to solve the mystery of russian soul.
Are u russian
That guy is SO correct about Thailand. I also lived in Thailand, for six years. When you are a tourist there with money in your pocket they are sweet and as warm as could be. When you're just a broke teacher bum living there you get to see first hand how cold and how much disdain they have for farang. All the Russian people I knew in Thailand were wonderful.
Personally Russians don't seem aggressive just tough. Huge difference
Плюсик
Such sweet and fun loving people, they took that bs supprisingly graceful lol
People are people. I find young Western Europeans to be more unfriendly than Russians or Eastern Europeans.
No no no you are kidding. But young Russians are far happier and smile much more than Russian adults in public.
Watching this video was weirdly relaxing. Russians are so cool!
Great video) I talk about these stereotypes with my students here in Russia)
Russia people they're very helpful friendly I was visit January many people are helping thanks Russia people
an american and a russian met in thailand studying chinese?? imagine that ... LOL :)
It doesn't matter what American think about any countries.
Vice-versa
Totally true

i wish he would stop asking the women "would *you* marry *me* to get a green card?" -- should rather ask both men and women if they perceive their own female population as being inclined to marry *an american* for a green card. making it personal like this is bound to invite a "no" because it's awkward.
Yeah, I think making it personal made it weird too. Anastasia was very beautiful and it was obvious that asking her to marry him was very awkward. lol
you are correct...putting it like that was in bad taste.
@@MrSupernova111 Ну так потому он и попросил: наверное, подумал - "А вдруг ответит да?!" В общем, решил попытать судьбу))
That professional fighter was spot on about Thai people. From your interviews,I think compering russians to coconut is a wonderful description of Russians.👏🏼
The Adidas costume question is by far the most awkward lol. Specially when they say yes.
"Do you smoke?", "No Im a doctor" made me laugh hard. -:)
I was in nizhny novgorod during the world cup. Everyone was friendly and happy, but it was like the whole city was a festival because of all the Swedish people partying all the time. But the Russians i met was very kind people. Before the world cup i had no plans to visit russia, but now after visiting i wanna go back. /swede
It's so nice to read such words, thank you!

Real g bruv
thats too far your love doesn't reach russia
This was fascinating! i think the professional fighter was the most intelligent, or perhaps the most insightful, out of everyone. Its great for people who have never been to Russia to see videos like this one. Thanks!
A wise Russian once said those looking for trouble are going to find it!!!!!
I treasure your post especially because it comes from a man with a name like John Tex.
Thank you for being such a great ambassador for the U.S., by just being yourself. It’s Americans who travel and have a true desire to connect with others that are the best representatives, it’s what it’s all about. Gosh forbid we all believe the images portrayed in (do we call it the news anymore?) you’re awesome
Absolutely LOVED the bit at the end with everyone sitting around drinking and playing guitar. Even better, the beautiful girl sitting at the table had a Joy Division shirt on. (big fan). I swear I would feel more happy and comfortable in the company of these people despite not being able to speak a word of Russian than I would the people of almost ANY major city in the United States.
@M Petersen How do you know? I’ve lived overseas before and spent time around other cultures
@M Petersen I knew a lot in f Russian people in Thailand and were good friends with them. I’m not even accepted in my own country these days where I feel more like a foreigner on a daily basis. At least you won’t be attacked by a mob in Russia for saying the wrong thing about migrants or transgenders
@M Petersen I’m from California and it’s horrible. It’s dangerous, dirty, full of bums and people are awful to each other. Even more frightening they call this progress. I would rather spend time around Russians who completely ignored me than spend five minutes with the inhabitants of any American city.
@M Petersen I know it wouldn’t be like Thailand. I didn’t meet any Russians in California. I’m from a small town there and I lived in the Bay Area for almost 20 years where nobody talks to each other anyway
@M Petersen You can’t hold any right of center views in California which has turned into a Neo liberal fascist state. Something tells me Russian nationalists experienced something similar prior to the Bolchevik revolution
Liked this. Russians are very good people.
Thank you🥰
Спасибо) Thank you)

Great video , Russians have a great sense of humour & are very family orientated .
The doctor seemed like a nice guy, talking about how he may have wanted to live in America if he was good at learning languages, to be able to buy a house and a car of his own. Humble guy
He is lord krishna followers
one stereotype that seemed true is that russian women are generally beautiful
But, they're really beautiful.......
In Washington state we have a lot of Russian people here who are very nice and shy about us and try very much to get to know the Americans.
Russians are smart and respectful!
Very true! I'm in Washington too. I want to learn Russian to learn more about Russia! :D
Женщина Фаина очень приятная очень вежливая и рассудительная Уважение и моё почтение таким людям!!!!!Респект
I was on vacation, and was in a resort with a lot of noisy Russians, which I ignored.
We got into conversation with an "English couple", we thought,Hahahahaha
Very nice people with whom we went.
After a few days, she apologized for their noisy Russian countrymen.
Well, that was an eye opener for us
Funny vid.
The Russian people had me laughing.
They are great people.
And that is a beautiful city.
Yea, and the Crooked Democrats keep trying to convince the whole United States that we should be at war with Russia so they can use it to steal public money and cover up their crimes.

People are the same anywhere you go. Governments are also the same everywhere you go.
Another great video. It is so eye opening and refreshing to see simple everyday people with no axe to grind and so fair minded. We all have misconceptions about others and videos like this go a long way to dispel them on both sides.
the misconceptions about Russia are fully intentional custom made lies broadcast by by the US media .. Still strange that after so many years of lying by american media americans still haven't caught on they are fed fake news and BS.
In France we do not always smile either. We may smile more easily than the Russians and yet it depends on the people. On the other hand, the few Russians this guy interviewed looked rather friendly.
The French are very depressed and suppressed , the south is more cheerful 😃
@@Denis50832 Well the South appears more cheerful because it is sunnier but the people who find it hard to get a job are not that cheerful. Unemployment is very high in the South of France.
@@yvest3332 Yes, I have met many French people in Canada , from different parts of France. Unemployment and especially youth unemployment is a big issues in France and has been so for a while. I still like the French their charm and cuteness
are you living in the states or France ?
@@Denis50832 France.
Most of the alleged Russian stereotypes are from the Cold War with the Soviet Union. That was about 30 years ago.
FAINA was very intelligent and answered the questions from a broader perspective. Very impressive woman
Thank you for this video! Seriously. Some Russians are offended by what citizens of other countries say about us. People watch TV and believe everything they are told, and often this is all dictated by geopolitical rivalries between countries. Information pressure is being put on Russia, and I am glad that ordinary people want to know the truth and communicate with people about it. Best regards from Russia.
Lots of love 💕

He is right about American guns. I am in Oklahoma. Most people here are carrying guns and our crime is much lower than most places in the world.
actually, Oklahoma's homicide rate is above US average (tinyurl.com/y65cp9kr), and the US homicide rate ranks 79th out of 198 countries (tinyurl.com/y3rrotm4). Which means there are 78 countries where homicide rate is higher, usually much less developed countries from Africa, former Soviet countries, Central and South America. 120 countries have fewer homicides per 100000 people then the USA. No developed country has higher homicide rate than the USA (and Oklahoma). European countries have usually less than half the homicide rate of the USA.
