Suddenly people have bleeding hearts for the Ukrainians but they didn't have any sympathy for the Ukrainians living in Donbass who were getting bombed by their own government.13,000 people have died since 2014. The Ukrainian government said these are paid Russian seperatists. Those deaths include old women, little kids, and you can google the photos from the bombing, there are ordinary people who died on their way to get groceries. That's not even mentioning that this whole thing started because US funded to coup the elected government in 2014. So yeah, OBVIOUSLY there are SOME normal everyday Russian people who have something to do with the invasion. Don't be stupid. BUT, there are OTHERS who don't. Furthermore, just because there are SOME who support their government invading Ukraine, doesn't mean that they are bad people or that the deserve to have their life savings ruined. The majority of Russians who support the war are still good people, and are victims of their government's decision, even if they support that decision.

My heart and condolences go out to any Ukrainian or Russian that are suffering the burden and tragedy of this conflict, including those that made a risky, yet selfless maneuver to stand up against the mad man Putin. Putin is the stain and the worst representation of Russia, its people, culture, and identity. I hope this war will end soon so that the sun will rise on a free, safe, and prosperous Ukraine and a free, democratic, safe, honest, and prosperous Russia - never again infested with corrupt, pompous, oppressive, power-hungry, bloodthirsty, war-mongering, and fear-mongering despots. There he interviews people who are on the territory of Ukraine, Kharkiv region. Also neutral, as in this video, under which I am writing a comment.
There is also a very good BBC report from 2014 - года «Why do some Ukrainians want to be part of Russia? BBC News» - interviews with people living in Ukraine near the border with Russia. View from both sides of the conflict.

Russians are not Slavic but mix 180+, mostly non-Slavic ethnicities from all over the Eurasian Moscow colonies, and yes, these non-Slavic Russians speak a Slavic-like language, frequently somehow. If you look at Russian KIA(killed in action) at war in Ukraine, they are primarily Russian Mongols like Kalmyk and Buriats; Russian Turks like Tatar, Chuvash, Bashkir, Nogay, Yakut, etc.; Russian Finno-Ugric like Mary, Mordva, Udmurt, Karelian, Erzia, Moksha, Sobyane, etc.; Russians Caucasians like Ingush, Chechens, Avar, Dargin, Lak, Lezgian and etc.; Russians from far North-East Asia like Chukcha, Nivkh, Koryak, Evenk, etc.; plus more than 60 000 Russian mercenaries pulled from all over the world like China, India, Nepal, Shri Lanka, Siera Leone, Yemen, Somalia, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Syria, Livia, CAR, Tajikistan, etc.

Asian Boss thank you for doing this interview. It's always important to hear views from both sides, not from experts or politicians, but from people who are affected by this war. Like one of the interviewee mentioned, anything Russian will be sanctioned. I'm from NYC, there are many Russia and Ukrainian businesses here. I also have Ukrainian and Russia friends but there's no animosity between them. One of my Jewish Russian friend owns a store and people have avoided buying from them despite his family fleeing Russia in the 70s. I understand that people are angry and want to blame someone, but it's definitely wrong to ostracize Russians who have nothing to do with the war. We still haven't learned from history. This definitely feels like what happened to Japanese Americans back in WWII.

Putin even made it clear that hes up to the Czar times, that means Alaska should be back to Russia too. Putin needs a war, thats how he got in power. Study why Jelcin made from the shades Putin president, study the first Chechnya war and the ''terrorist'' attack in Moscow, whom the muslims are blamed not FSB. I spended so much thous days about this topic cus I have friends in Russia as well in Ukraine, and Im from Bosnia and Herzegovina who had war 30 years ago. At the bitter end, Moscow today is not bombed, its Ukraine by Russias led Putin, he has nukes, only Russians can stop him but since they support him and he is a de facto dictator, hardly this gonna end so soon. Since this, everyone wants join NATO and EU, its not that they are expanding as everyone wants to get away from Moscow, just as it was during the collapse of the Warshaw pact. GDP or Russia is almost like the state of Texas, Bangladesh has more population than Russia, Russia is the biggest country in the world and had border wars with every country including China many times. Its not about NATO, what u people think ? That nuking a capital city makes it a target no. Putin could buy elections in Ukraine in 2014, but the western pact gave more money, Ukraine never had any fair elections, same as Russia and Belaruss. But Ukraine gave lgbt rights, women where seen on presidental elections.

While Russia GDP might be low, they have huge resources. Its interesting to see how Putin will handle the sanctions. Iran did fairly well, Russia is in much better position than Iran was. Will this mark the end of Russia as a threat to the western interests or will it grow bigger, we'll have to wait and see. If Putin could somehow unite Russia, India and China using this conflict, it will create a new age in world order for better or worse.
Every single country in this conflict have made terrible decisions so far escalating it more and more. Ukrainian citizens are the biggest losers in this war with almost nothing to gain. EU countries(Germany and Italy specially) will lose a lot too. US and China are the clear winners.

But in Russia we don't have real elections, freedom of speech and as i understand in a few month we will be totally cut off Internet and world. they say we need to risk our lives and protest, but nobody wants to go to jail for 15 years and it would change nothing. We are like Afghanistan now. It is impossible even to say 'war' and i can be arrested for this comment. We became poor in two weeks, I lost my job in advertising (who needs ad now anyway?) and a lot of people lost their jobs too and more to come. But still i feel guilt and in shock that Russian army invade Ukraine, kill innocent people there. The dictator we have as a president gone mad and i only hope someday he and all of his friends would be arrested and judged as a criminals and our taxes will go not for war, but for repairing Ukrainian cities.

Its interesting that most of ukrainian people speaks russian. I know both russian and english. And i can say that translation is not so understandable for english speakin people. I mean that translation is correct but the meaning of phrases is not so correct. Video is good. It was interesting to hear a regular people opinion. (and i am russian)

1:58 You have cut a part without subtitles, where he's saying "In order to protect the citizens of the DPR and LPR" Why? Even UA-cam subs are showing that in translation. Asian boss - are trying to hide that or what? Because with hiding this fact about DPR and LNR, Russian goverment position will be much more - pointless...

This is great . . . thank you, Asian Boss! This hits home for me as I grew up in a church community which included Ukrainians, Russians and immigrants from the Balkans -- most of whom had come to the US escaping dictatorial regimes. That was 60 years ago. However, here we are (STILL) being held hostage by autocratic, nationalist personalities out to divide and bring harm their own peoples.

There are criticisms of bias of Asian boss.
First of all, don't assume that what you feel about this medium moment by moment is South Korean one. What you need to realize is that we now have to admit the discrepancy between the local worldview and the global worldview.
Asian Boss tried to tell more about South Korea in the early days, but it was heavily criticized in South Korea because they conform to the worldview too much and showed problems to represent "Korean truth". And they experienced a tough time enough to contemplate shutting down..
Personally, there are still parts of dissatisfaction as a native of South Korea about their view and bias, but I want to commend their efforts nonetheless. So you too, just look at it as an international medium. And please don't regard it as South Korean media.
