I have a Juki TL 18 and I used the Gutterman invisible thread in both top and in the bobbin, but I have metal bobbins. The bobbin tension was perfect. I had to mess around with the top tension, but I have always had an issue with top tension on this machine anyway.
I had to put it in the bobbin because I was sewing two table runners together and they both had different patterns so nothing would lineup. I’m glad it’s over.
    😹😹😹😂🤪🍷🤣

Good idea about using wash away thread for placement, especially the whale. Have used Vanish and Vanish Extra and other other wash away brands to baste a large quilt together, before quilting. Found wash away threads break easily but Madeira Wash Away is the best (thickest) type. It still breaks in the needle but not as much as the other brands. I use Madeira in both the needle and bobbin when basting the quilt layers, so I don't have to remove any stitches at all. Bobbin thread and needle thread dissolves away. (Just remember to change out the bobbin thread before you start quilting for real !!!)

I have just discovered your channel and watched this video and your QAYG video both of which are brilliant in terms of the content (I know there is a issue with the sync in this video but for me that does not detract from the information you are imparting) . Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skill - it truly is appreciated. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
