This is by far the best explanation of manual, precision and cruise that I have come across. Thank you. And this video was well prepared and presented.
Thank you so very much! This video and explanation is so helpful as I am starting ruler works and was struggling how to setup the machine for stitching. Thank you for the great explanation - truly appreciate you!
One thing you didn't address that might be helpful is to discuss recommended setting when using prostitcher on an E2E design. I have found using cruise at a low setting to work better on designs with sharp points.
Newish Amara owner here. I don't have Prostitcher but do like to do pantographs. Cruise is better for points but what about circles say with a diameter of 2 -3"? By the way, this video helped a LOT!
Are the cats all upside down, i.e. maybe the quilt is hung upside down? but I enjoyed the explanations of the various speeds. Good refresher, as I forget which ones does which job for me!
I recently took an online course with BethAnne nemish. She recommended manual mode for pebbles, so I tried it. Wow, so much easier to make pretty circles in manual. I set speed at 950, but that's something that needs to be figured out for each person.

Thank you Judith. The modes seem to be a mystery for most people!!

Keep these videos coming. Still learning my Moxie after a year and you guys are great. I appreciate these tutorials.
I’m a newbie and just ordered the ruler work table. Glad for all the tips! Thanks
Fabulous now I understand Thanks😅
Very helpful!
Thanks for such an informative demo. Can you clarify which setting would be best to get that sharp point? Much appreciated.
Cruise is best for getting sharp points.

I usually stay in cruise unless I am doing little tiny circles which I would then switch to manual.

The design was set up so every other row was flipped. That way it can go both ways and still have cats right side up and upside down.
If you stop with the needle down, you will get sharp points no matter what mode you are in.
That is correct. However, most people don't like to stop their machine at every point when they are stitching. It takes a lot of extra time.
The stitch speeds on the Moxie are different in cruise. How do they differ from the Amara speeds?
The number works the same. It's the number of times the needle will cycle in a minute. The Moxie has a range of 50-900 though.
If you want nice round circles, is there one mode that works best?
Cruise tends to be a little smoother which could help with circles. Play with the speed!

Manual mode is FABULOUS for doing little pebbles!!! For larger circles, using stitch regulation would be better.
What mode to use in Pro Stitcher?
We recommend using Cruise mode.
