6:50 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 (Now we see where Morticia got the 'Do you mind if I smoke?' concept...the originator was Vampira!) 20:13 That Tower Records building ('8801 Sunset Blvd.'!) was notable for its YELLOW paintwork, at one time. And that statue of Rocky and Bullwinkle wasn't originally on that site--it has been moved, presumably to preserve it, as it used to stand in front of the Jay Ward production offices, where my father used to work (he was a writer on that show). Thank you for keeping the memories alive! ps: That 'coffee shop restaurant sure looks like a 1950s/'60s time capsule to me! Possibly a DuPars? The neon-esque signage is a give-away... Thank you again for the attention to detail and authenticity in every one of your photo match-ups! Unmissable! :D
Thank you both for taking your time to show us these graves. Those of us who live on the other side of the country really do appreciate y’all’s work!!! 🖤🖤
A sunny day that is why this NC girl loves Southern California. 😃 And also the land of make believe. Movie Magic. Loved these photo locations. Thanks for taking the time to do this. It's so cool that Darren McGavin's gravesite is near hers.
I had a really crappy day yesterday and this video is just what I needed. What a fun adventure, really enjoyed the side quests for the art and historical markers. The Ramones Ducks made me honestly smile for the first time in 24 hours. Thanks guys!
Thanks for taking us on this tour. The Vampira video footage does show how the character was inspiration for Morticia Addams. Yavone D'Carlo obviously drawn influence from Vampira for Morticia.
Oh. There really was a May Company. That's where Mary Livingstone worked on the Jack Benny Show. Thanks for all of the old pictures, especially The May Company photo. Much love.😁
Very interesting, i read a book on Myla 😊she was the first & original imo.Darren Mgavin awesome actor so good in "a Christmas story " . Great job as usual thank you
This is killer. I got the Glamour Ghoul book from the Oregon Film Museum in Astoria. You’ve got to respect someone who survives on only their art, for better or worse.
I LOVE THIS!! The unseen photos really made me gasp out loud! Such a treat to see this video and the locations. So cool Jonny shared these with y'all. I would love to recreate some of these.
Thanks for that! The one time I went to Hollywood Forever it was closing soon and so I had to dash around and photograph whatever graves I could get to, and I didn’t find Maila Nurmi’s. I only had about a week in LA.
There was an Owl drugs at the corner of Hollywood & Cahuenga ( the building pretty much looked the same back then ), but of course it isn't as you said the one in the Vampira photo. Owl Drugs was a major chain store in its day ( another in Hollywood was at the Taft building, Hollywood & Vine ).
Fantastic work, Mike and Jessica! This was an amazing journey! I can’t imagine the amount of research it took to bring you to these locations! Lots of tremendous info here! Loved every minute. Take a bow, kids! BRAVO!!!!
Michael, you are amazing with the research you do for the videos. This was so interesting, and it is fun to see how excited you are when you present the material. As always, a job well done!!!😀👻💀🖤
This was so cool! I love seeing 1950’s L.A.! My mom, who is the least California person you’ll ever meet, was born and raised in L.A. She was born in 1946 and moved away in 1970. My dad is from Wisconsin, so they ended up moving there when she got pregnant with my older sister. They hadn’t planned on moving to Wisco, but my grandma saw a house she thought they might like and the rest -as they say - is history. I always wondered when I’d be like if I had been raised there. I’ve always felt at home there. 🎃🖤
Vampira was a little bit before my time but I certainly remember Elvira. Used to watch Elvira every week in the 1980s even though she was mostly only in California she occasionally got played here in the midwest.
I wish I could exist in past Hollywood just to see how it was. The streets and buildings feel so much less busy and crowded. Thank you for bringing us along! 🖤
Great video!! Darin Mcgaven would be a Great video as welllll...he is also know for the 1970's The Night stalker as Kolshak a reporter investigating Horrific paranormal happenings !!
One of these days when I can truly afford to be a ghost or patreon I surely will, but I just wanted to say I watch every video (catching up right from the first one too). Quite simply, being into Hollywood history myself, this video blew my mind. Much respect.
I just love these Hollywood history tour trips :)! It makes me feel like I'm following along - especially when you get sidetracked and visit stores and other locations. Very cool Martian t-shirt by the way :)! Thank you Michael and Jessica! Looking forward to your next venture :)!
Great video I remember vampira I'm a huge James Dean fan and I remember she was a good friend of Jimmy's for a while I also love old Hollywood history and the creepy stuff to ❤
To Michael and Jessica, I LOVE watching grimmlfecollective, I like to tell you for long time now, if hollywood ever make a movie of Vampira, I think Jessica could make a good Vampira for the movie
That was definitely a great video How are you found Summers locations is unbelievable but thank you for showing us. Hope you guys both. Have a great weekend.
Wow beautiful Vampira 💚🖤🥀I love the monuments. Aww from Christmas Story wow I love the marker with Vampira picture on it. Hahaha comical too. You guys are amazing. Is like being in the back seat and watching your videos. We are with you in spirit. Happy Halloween 🎃💚🖤🥀🎃 thank you
Well Michael, you did it again. Another wildly informative and entertaining video. Thank you for taking the time to do such a quality video. You and Jessica are the best!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I loved the cameo of the friendly ducks (I love ducks, particularly white ducks). Also loved the Chaplin, Keaton & Lloyd Alley you showed. Hope you had a great birthday too Michael.
That video with George Goeble was a great comic relief. Wild that Darren McGavin the Nightstalker is so close to her resting place. 😁 Cool saying hi to the ducks.🦆 Happy Halloween y'all 😎
In Canada we have weed stores everywhere just like Space Booth. One just opened up across the street called Delta 9, the walls are white, they need to paint some trippy murals. The building used to be a bank, the vault is still in it and they keep the weed in there. It doesn't lock though, it's been disabled so nobody can get locked inside.
these days she would blend right in. she is probably one of my most loved vampires. way ahead of her times. thank you 2 for doing this video. STAY SPOOKY AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN. 👻 ☠ 💀
As always, a superb job Michael I love these oddball, Hollywood outcasts of the past.....Vampira, Ed Wood, Tor Johnson, Criswell, even Bela Lugosi....all of them with their own, unique, Hollywood moment, yet not regarded as the "Hollywood elite" (though Bela L sure should have been) I say oddball, because these people (not sure of T.J though) all had their time of recognition, yet at the end of their lives, they'd fallen on hard and difficult times and were sort of outcasts (I feel). These are the kind of people I'm drawn to, and appreciate Thankfully, they're more recognized and appreciated today I was so excited when I found out you were doing this Vampira video I've had a really, rough few days, and this was something I needed to help boost my spirits Thank you Michael and Jessica (I always include you even if you weren't in video) Looking forward to more Happy Halloween🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
She was beyond awesome, thank you for all the times you have honored her beloved memory. Awesome job on this one "and life continues to be fascinating" for us with you. Happy Halloween!
Amazing episode michael grimm and sooo appreciative of the sheer research and work that goes into these documes....seeing hollywood california up close like this is soooo cooool.👻🎃♥️🥰thanks a 1000 vampire bats!
Would love to see you do a video on Larry Vincent who played "Seymour", the original "Fright Night" horror host on KHJ-TV and "Monster Rally" on KTLA-TV. I loved him when I was a kid and still have fond memories of him 50 years later!
micheal and jessica as always thankyou for bringing us all along the world would be a dull place without the grimm life well done guys cool as cats or bats and i take my hat off to u and happy halloween 👻👻👻👻 🐯🐯🐯🦇🦇🦇
Thank you for another great Vampira video :) that George Gobel sketch never gets old lol. The part with the Ramones Ducks was so cute. I could watch an hour video just following them around 😊😊
Really enjoy your videos. This is so cool. My granddaughter Evelyn drew the leg lamp picture on Darren McGavins' grave. I remember when she placed it there, she sent me a picture of it. I sent her a link to this video, and she was so happy to see it was still there. 😊

Thanks you Grimm Life for doing the Vampira Photo Locations and visiting the Famous Vampira's grave.
A sunny day that is why this NC girl loves Southern California. 😃 And also the land of make believe. Movie Magic. Loved these photo locations. Thanks for taking the time to do this. It's so cool that Darren McGavin's gravesite is near hers.
🦇 Good morning Ghosts! Rolling out the black carpet for this Frightday premiere. Thank you Grimm-Life!
I love being a ghost. Knowing that our small contribution allows Michael and Jessica to have complete creative control makes me happy. 👻🎃
@@davebrewer9279Cringe. Please. We are not Swifties. Horror Fan is fine.
The trees couldn’t be more perfect for her gravesite ❤️
I would seriously consider traveling to California just to visit Hollywood Forever cemetery.
Just when Friday was getting unbearable, Grimmlife posts for us to save the day!
✊️🦇💚🖤
Dice and slice it anyway you want, the Hollywood of 2023 is a boring, character less sh*t hole.
I had a really crappy day yesterday and this video is just what I needed. What a fun adventure, really enjoyed the side quests for the art and historical markers. The Ramones Ducks made me honestly smile for the first time in 24 hours. Thanks guys!

Yes, Yvonne D' Carlo was Lily Munster. Very similar characters 🖤
@@angelalinderman9985 I was thinking Carolyn Jones, her name slipped my mind.

It's amazing that even after... what-- almost 70 years?-- that some of these places can still be found and identified. 🙂
This is killer. I got the Glamour Ghoul book from the Oregon Film Museum in Astoria. You’ve got to respect someone who survives on only their art, for better or worse.
