Great explanation. Now when my older anti controller DJ friends ask me “What’s the difference?” I can refer them here. I started on vinyl, prefer it, but LOVE my ddj1000 platters for gig use. Its just a better alternative.
I actually switched from the DDJ SX to the DDJ 1000SRT specifically for the Mechanical Jogwheels. This was good move. As always, another great Video 👍👍
Thank you my brother!!!! When you brought that up about that I thought it was my controller this whole time was acting up, so what you say right there it does make sense, thank God I'm still good with this controller 💯💯💯💯 5:07
Thanks for the informative video! Been watching a lot of your tutorials and its inspiring and brought me back to my youth days when I used to "DJ" for house parties. I still have my 10+ years old Hercules controller from back then that only had jogwheels, no scratch mechanisms. Seeing how much you can do for a cheapish controller nowadays its amazing how much technology has progressed! Wanting to get back into DJing as a hobby, should I: 1. Dust off my old controller, but limited in function and not sure if it even works for rekordbox 2. Get a beginner DDJ like the 200 3. Get a better DDJ like the 800 or 1000
*Renton Ho* I’d get the DDJ-1000. It’s not too expensive & has lots of good features. Also, it’s only about $300 more than the DDJ-800 & has 2 extra channels. I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews about it 👍
1. dust off Your old Controller, just to see that you still enjoying djing, then Safe up for the 800 or 1000 and After Some years ditch The Controllers at all and use xdjs or cdjs If your old Hercules is unable to perfom well, Go for a 200 or 400.
the difference between the jog of the cdj and the ddj sz2 at the time of scratching is impressive in my opinion, in serato it has a different feeling, because I bought both teams and I realized that in serato the feeling is different, and in rekordbox it is more pleasant and accurate in my opinion. but it's a matter of getting used to it I guess. 🤷♂️
No argument on earth would make me choose touch capacitive. A bar had a pioneer controller as its house equipment (dumb) and it must've been grounding because the wheels were unpredictable and random all night! The electric installation of a venue possibly screwing with your decks? Hell no.
Exact same sound I just got the FLX 6 and I'm really kinda pissed ppl are singling out this controller for looks and shortcuts.Ive paid all dues on belt and direct drive tables. So I'm just buggin about how the community of most (purest, hipsters) are trippin are they jealous or what it's an incredible deal for a bedroom dj to create and I thought that's what hiphops all about creation extending ur art to do cooler and different stuff.
Hello Big Vee! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and comment. But in the case of the release dates, you are incorrect. CDJ-1000 (version 1) was released in 2001, and the CDJ-800 was released in November of 2002 as the more affordable version of the CDJ-1000. The CDJ-1000 used a friction based jog wheel system that was redesigned to the bearing system for the CDJ-800. This new designed would be applied to all full sized mechanical jogwheels after, including the CDJ-1000MK2 (released in July 2003), all the way to the CDJ-2000NXS2 (released in 2016). It would only be redesigned for the CDJ-3000 we released in 2020. Sorry for the history lesson, but hope this clears it up!
Hi I have a denon MC 7000 and it's a touch capacitive jog. I also have a cdj 800. Do you find the jog of the flx10 is way better than the one of the cdj 800? Because sometime with mechanical jog it seems more fragile and less precise with more latence. I don't know if it's coming from the old cdj 800 jog..

hey @priyonjoni , i just wanted to ask you this question. How did you connect the cdj to flx6?? Thank you!
Great explanation. Now when my older anti controller DJ friends ask me “What’s the difference?” I can refer them here. I started on vinyl, prefer it, but LOVE my ddj1000 platters for gig use. Its just a better alternative.
always great to teach new things to folks!
I actually switched from the DDJ SX to the DDJ 1000SRT specifically for the Mechanical Jogwheels. This was good move.
As always, another great Video 👍👍
and back in the day the DDJ-SX came out, people were buying that to get rid of the mechanical noise. SSJ SX is still so smooth today.
This video is excellent, you can see that is not only about expensive gear is what you like and prefer!!! 👍😷I prefer capacitive !!!
Thanks for the video pri! Real helpful insight into the step ups and differences between controllers and cdj’s. Good vid
Thank you my brother!!!! When you brought that up about that I thought it was my controller this whole time was acting up, so what you say right there it does make sense, thank God I'm still good with this controller 💯💯💯💯 5:07
You're proof that you don't need an intro video or even an intro catch phrase to have a successful channel
Great explanation! One of the reasons I love the DDJ 1000. It was great upgrade from the RX.
Thanks for this really good in depth comparison.
This made me feel a lot better about my ddj400 lol
no one should feel bad about their gear! Despite all the gear, I still use my DDJ-SB3 for gigs!
Mechanical jogwheels for me all day !!!
Always love your videos keep it up and I also made sure to follow you on twitch as well. 🙏🙏😀😀
This is so detailed, I’ve been follow this channel for long time. You gave the best review and advise
appreciate it, thanks for watching!

@@lustforlow-end6022 absolutely not. They said they were a beginner essentially, so they should not buy a professional grade controller.
only recently subscribed and love your videos on dj equipment etc. great work

I went from a SB3 to DDJ 1000SRT and had no problems between the two.
Great info for my grands 12 & 14 who are taking over my dj business.
Nice explanation, 👍
Great one
smooth two click flare orbits tho' 🙏
ahhhh kemosabe!!!
Hi, how I can fix the ground problem on the flx-6 controller?
Thanks
Very interesting- 👌
How can I solve the grounding issue on my DDJ Flx 6?
🖤🖤🖤

Where did you connected the 3rd CDJ PLAYER into the flax6 ?
nice.
My flx 6 nog cutter mode starts to stutter everytime i try them, can i fix this by grounding and how
Which one is more durable?

When you can’t create you start to hate, so just keep creating! Screw those narrow minded haters.
The DMS code for monthly does not work 😢
I have a DDJ FLX 6, if i buy a XDJ 700 how would i be able to use that to control the third deck, if thats even possible
You connect it via USB in HID mode.
Have u tried flex on a gig yet?
How can you help me with some scratches samples please?

The CDJ 800 was the first one you can scratch on not the CDJ 1000 like he said in the video
