    If the Reinsdorfs sold the Bulls, I don't have a particular person in mind, but I would want it to be a wealthy fan of the team who will do whatever it took financially to make the Bulls contenders.

    The 6 nba championships are/were just a bonus to JR. All he really wanted was a world series title that he got. So everything he wanted to accomplish as an owner came to him in 2005. He could care less about the past and future of either franchise.

    When Jerry passes, his family will take ownership and continue to underspend despite this being the most storied and one of the most profitable franchise in the history of sports.

    Sad but true. Thats the problem with private ownership. In a ideal world you would like a passionate fan to own the Bulls and have a committee set up and members to vote on those decisions. Not just have one person deciding how your club is run. Although AK gets a say we all know Jerry is the one pulling all the strings.

    The worst part is like you the ticket prices were fairly compared to around the league, but halfway through that 22 season with attendance back up and they were on top they raised prices again. It just adds to that idea AKME was brought in with the goal of getting us #1 in attendance asap. So shortsighted

    Actually, you laid out a good rational for selling and didn't even realize it. The Jordan dynasty isn't going to last forever. It would be a good business decision to sell high, before the decline. That's not necessarily now, but in the not too distant future

    Thanks for this video.
    Have been a Bulls fan since the Jordan days, but it's clear as day....as long as this owner is still around this team is never going to compete again.
    Time for Bulls nation to rise up and demand a change.

    • @greenmachine718
      @greenmachine718 10 місяців тому

      The only way to change this team and get Jerry’s ass to care is to boycott this team which I know is a f’in pipe dream but I guarantee that if this ownership sees large sections of empty seats especially closer to the floor, they will do something.
      I am sure they don’t want to be embarrassed especially during a nationally televised game.
      Also, what kind of moron would sell the team in 1985 when they just got a superstar in Jordan?

  • @whodeani2216

    Ive always said, it would take a Donald Sterling level scandal to make Jerry sell the team. And even when he eventually does pass, that team, I'd assume, is going right to his son. And I have never seen any indication his son is any more competent than Jerry is in terms of making a winning franchise.

    I think if Michael ever gains control of the team things can change. He's much younger than Jerry and may want to leave his own mark. Jerry did his thing and is running on fumes. Those fumes bring in a considerable amount of money over time. At 85 you have to wonder why not sell? He could make more profit up front than he'll ever see come in from the Bulls the rest of his days. Maybe even more in one drop than he's ever made in his life. Perhaps double or even triple his net worth when the smoke clears.
    So why hang on? I think it actually has to do with more than simply money. He is in fact a businessman. And for those who have been successful businessmen and owners of things...they love business and owning things. Making money, yes. But also employing others, running an enterprise, and getting up in the morning and saying "That's mine. I'm responsible for that, I pay people and make them rich, pay their wages, send their kids to college, help give them their lives." Certainly a lot of ego involved there, yes. But ego is good to have. I think Jerry will own the Bulls until he dies. As long as he can still make decisions and say "yes" and "no." He's 85. If he sells what does he have? Money? More money? He already has that. If he sells he sells EVERYTHING with it and is just an old coot sitting on a pile of cash. If it were mostly about money imo he'd sell. But at 85 the Bulls are his legacy and something to pass to his family. He's never selling because it's not about money imo. If he sold the Bulls at 85 Jerry would be nothing. Mostly to himself. And he knows it. He needs to die the owner of the Chicago Bulls. I'd be shocked if he doesn't.
    He plays it safe running the team financially. This is passed down to his managers who are squeezed into playing it safe when building a team and build out one over time. I think AK and Marc are doing an incredibly good if not perfect job running Jerry's team. They certainly haven't run it into the ground. We can only hope when and if Michael or some other take over for Jerry they understand investing in winning also pays over time. Generations come and go, sports history becomes just that. So, let's make some new history. The product is on the floor. Not in the ticket booth, the sales kiosks, or in media generated revenue. The product is the TEAM on the floor. Invest in winning and the NEXT owner of the Bulls could see billions more than Jerry ever dreamed. And they'll have their own stamp on NBA history. THAT sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Business and otherwise.

    I did the math, and given inflation, at this rate, the team would have to be offered northwards of $25 Billion dollars minimum for them to even consider selling. And every season that goes by you can basically add another 3-5 billion annually to that making this team not worth it for most rich guys out there lol that sucks dude

    I disagree slightly Jamaal just basically on one point it might be impossible but the fact that fans do nothing to try and put pressure on the team to either make an ownership sale or change the way they operate. If fans continously refuse to go to games despite their attempts to get the most ticket sales if fans set a precedent to demand for competent running of the front office you could see significant improvements

  • @christophermoyer7289
    @christophermoyer7289 10 місяців тому +2

    I’m thinking the family does sell it after Jerry passes and they’re just waiting until it happens. They’ll get a massive step up in basis to fair market value once Jerry is gone, so no capital gains tax. Michael does not seem like the type of owner who is going to keep the Bulls when faced with a multi-billion dollar pay day. Chicago Bears are looking like they’re about to do the same with Virginia.

    Its not mutually exclusive infact i think it mostly proceeds it that the places with the most die hard fans have the worst sports owners. That is to say the reason the worst owners can get away with being the worst owners is because the die hard fans enable them by being die hard.

    Sono tifoso dei bulls fin dall infanzia grazie a jordan e quella magnifica squadra, poi solo delusioni, questo proprietario non va bene, è fortunato che in nba non ci sono le retrocessioni come nel calcio altrimenti i bulls sarebbero già retrocessi. Ci vuole un proprietario che voglia spendere e che sia competente.

    I wish Jerry Reinsdorf would sell the Bulls. The team hasn't been back to the finals since 98 and that means the Bulls need a change. I blame Jerry for all of the Bulls problems and losses he's too old anyway. Does Jerry think he can take all that money with him to his grave? Come on Jerry sell the Bulls. It's the only way the team can really improve

    Jerry’s bitterness and ego has made the Bulls Dynasty toxic for everyone involved.
    He shamelessly used Jerry Krause as a scapegoat for all criticism. Krause made mistakes but everything he did was approved and encouraged by Reisndorf. Krause widow getting booed this weekend was all on him.
    He’s also the reason most of the Bulls players and Phil Jackson want nothing to do with the team. Bulls the only franchise I know that have zero relationship with their hall of famers and shows zero respect for them. They only reach out to them when they want to sell tickets just like this weekend.
    I don’t see that happening with the Celtics and the Lakers. Thats why those teams continue to he winning organizations and the Bulls are laughing stock.
