  • The 1990's Chicago Bulls was a fun team to observe, most of the time. It was a real rollercoaster ride being a 90's Bulls fan living in Chicago. This is a segment I found on an old VHS tape that pretty much explains it all. Sorry for the poor quality, but this is worth watching for anyone.

yeah i still have nightmares of these bulls teams of the 90's. they were a well oiled machine and phil jackson knew how to play the "mind games" with the opposing coach, players and even the refs. it sucked because i liked jordan back then but i couldnt be objective and open minded as i am now because i was such a hardcore knicks fan......90% of everyone in my neighborhood was bulls fans though so it was hard. thats why our loss to the Rockets stung even more. i wanted it for EWING

IT EXPLAINS WHY MJ WAS HARD ON HIS TEAMMATES, NOT JUST BECAUSE HE WAS COMPETITIVE BUT ALSO THE FACT THAT HE WAS UP AGAINST THE MANAGEMENT/ORGANIZATION SPECIFICALLY KRAUSE EVERSINCE, HE HAS TO PREPARE HIS TEAM NOT JUST FOR ON COURT BATTLES BUT ALSO OFF COURT AS WELL. NOW WE CAN ASSESS HOW GREAT THE BULLS TEAM WERE HAVING ALL OF THIS DISTRACTIONS AND STILL WINS... SIMPLY AMAZING!

    Krause is a liar
he sounds like every other person in upper management I've dealt with in corporations. personal insecurities alienate

The book: Michael Jordan and the World He Made, goes into much detail on the conflicts between the players and the management.

The GM over the actual players, stupidest philosophy ever. And good job from the owner not stepping in, what a coward.

"Jerry Krause and Jerry Reinsdorf were sick and tired of riding #23's coat tails..." Boo fucking hoo. 6 titles in 8 years and a Bulls organization that nearly quadrupled in value. Greed.

Wow, The Bulls Management was a bit dumb.

wow that was very interesting...management can put the pieces in place, but the players are the ones that win the championship and they should get most of the credit

Great upload Bruce its just burns me as a die hard Bulls fan, to know that this went down. I know for a fact is MJ stay and never retired in 94 you're looking roughly at 9 titles. Remember also Bruce, Krause loved Tmac, he wanted to trade Scottie for Tmac in the 98 season but MJ shot that down and with very good reason. The mutterings of breaking up the dynasty almost happened right after 97, but MJ said it best after winning the title "if it's not broke don't fix it"

From 2:31-2:40 Krause was flat out lying. I have been reading old newspaper articles from that period and in them all parties (2 Jerry's, doctors, and Jordan) were saying Jordan only had about 10-20% chance of reinjury.

Awesome video. At the time I always wondered how they could let that team dismantle like that. Really sucks, because the bulls had a few more titles in them at the time.
That was a magical team and the players/coaches deserve most of the credit. Sure, Reinsdorf deserves some credit too, but common..that was a legendary team and it was the players and coaches that did it. I'm glad our front office is much better now.

This was 60% Jerry Krause, 20% Phil Jackson, 10%MJ, 10% Scottie Pippen, and 10% Jerry Reisendorf's fault. I believed we could have won 8 championships in that decade, 91,92,93,95,96,97,98, and 99.

thank god he is finally gone. was such a farce that the bulls team was ripped apart even if mj retired.

Also, it wasn't just Jackson leaving that broke up the team. Rodman was a loose cannon that Jackson was having problems dealing with. Many years earlier Pippen had started to build resentment torward the Bulls because he felt he wasn't getting paid anywhere close to what he deserved for his contribution. Jordan was asking old friends to let him know if he's losing a step so he can know when to hang it up.
There is a ton more factors than Jerry Krause.
