Jason Doyle has promised us a duck flight to remember - the winds are up on the foreshore and the ducks are flying at supersonic velocities. We make haste across the sea to find Jason and shooting buddy Aaron Pickard readying for action. Aaron takes centre stage as the ducks come in - but are his shooting skills up to it? And how long can we stay out in such inclement conditions?
Thanks for some really great show's over the past year. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you & the team.
Great show again, Aaron took some fantastic shots. Maybe put him in the grouse butt with Jason for a shoot off next year. That would be worth seeing. Happy Christmas and the best of everything in the new year.
Blimey, I did a one-two pair of mallards last saturday and was really proud of myself... until now! Rocket propelled birds! Well done guys, amazing. You REALLY need a shotkam on the next outing, for the rest of us :-)
Ditto here ! ( on employing a shotcam, that is )
Michel Pollet haha cheers 😁😁
Great shooting and I really enjoyed the chat after the hunt.
Peter, you mention the kit the boys use, all but the gloves. As the weather is certainly much cooler ( read that damned cold !!)
I was hoping you'd either do a segment on cold weather gloves or mention what Jason and company, find the most effective in hand protection.
Thanks again for a great show this week.
All the very best of good fortune and health in 2017 to you all !
Reg Sparkes the gloves I was using were MacWet climatec , great gloves to shoot in really grippy when damp so you dont loose grip of the gun. they are warm to wear but not really for cold weather or really wet weather as they are not fully waterproof
Excellent shooting and looks like a great hunt. Over here in Texas it is hard hunting due to low game numbers.
Good dog, and he got a great bit of exercise!
Peter get it sorted fella , wheres the next one , im waiting eagerly ,
Great vid and shooting , I look for more
Joe Lloyd is correct. Aaron, it looks as though you were using Gamebore Black Gold as well as Alphamax as is apparent on the film at 6 minutes 50 seconds. The dark ring round the primer cap of the cartridge is indicative of the Gordon Recoil system as used by Gamebore in the Black Gold cartridge. Whoops! But very poor example by the Shooting Show in not advocating Bismuth, Hevyshot or Steel for wildfowling.
First shooting with lead shot for wildfowl in Ireland is not a requirement and yes you were correct there, we tried other shells aswell
good video
From the land " down under" bloody great shooting mate! Was that in Eire and is lead allowed? If that was bismuth or steel you must have been right on the head, neck for shutting down the central nerve system so fast. Whatever, damn fine shooting with a good dog a great ambassador for our sport of wildfowling, these Yank videos make me sick, barrages from 5-6 self loading guns. I witnessed their lack of fire control in Vietnam in 1969. Nice enough blokes but bloody lousy Infantry soldiers.
Robert Whinnen not compulsory to use lead shot as of yet but it will be coming into law shortly
awesome dog :)
I have absolutely no problem with hunting but why would one shooter take so many birds in one outing?
What is the correct number of birds to take? How do you arrive at this number? What are your qualifications?
I thought eley alphamax 36gm was lead not steel or non toxic cartridges ?
Warriors it's not compulsory to use lead free in Ireland
Right, why not to go non-toxic if you can - there are so many good reasons to do so
Can I ask what chokes you were using in the shotgun for duck hunting???? Cheers
Gareth Brown half and quarter choke, the half was a Beretta choke and the quarter is actually a benelli choke I believe
dident no eley had the gordon system on there shells
please put dates on your videos, I hate clicking on one and having to move, thank you.
Nice
Why are you advocating the use of Alphamax lead cartridges that cannot lawfully be used for shooting wildfowl in the UK without making it clear to viewers that this is the case?
The UK and Ireland have different laws regarding this at the point of making this video
super atirador parabéns
is that on privet land
benny murphy yes
benny murphy to bad benny you may unpack the car
1
Duck shooting yes, wildfowling it is not. Excessive bag anyway and by the look of it not much fieldcraft either. Don't treat wild duck like reared phesants.
widgeon teal What? This is wildfowling at its best
