It's hard to overstate how good this run is. It's more than a full minute ahead of second place. Not only does he nail every big trick, the run is also filled with lots of subtle but precise time saves, that on their own don't save much time, but added together save dozens of seconds. Huge congrats Jay_cee! Unless there's some crazy new discovery, this one is going to stand for a long time.
You have to grind at the game for thousands of runs; half hour runs where the worst RNG comes towards the end...constantly performing frame perfect tricks, movement manipulations to set yourself in the right position to do those tricks, and precise movement to try and get lag manipulations. Finally you get that great run, with the right RNG, but then comes the thing that most people would rarely be able to do: close out that run when your heart is pounding and you're nearly shaking. That quad floor drop in Dracula's Castle is four tricks in a row requiring 1-2 frame precision, and you only get one shot at it. This is why this run is so good. It's not that it's 100% perfect, it's that who in the world will ever do better?

This is a near perfect run, the only way he could’ve done it quicker would have been to execute the death and Dracula glitches in less attempts.

Yes. I believe 4:57 can be done if I go even harder on lag reduction strats during the walk to town.
