Dont get me wrong i love the version she officially released…but this one
Its honestly magical
I feel like she tells my whole life story and speaks to me as an individual
Its just incredibly intimate to me and i never had this expirience with any other artist
I went through some shit with substance dependency and being in and out of psych wards
But when i came out the first thing i listened to was this
Its almost like shes telling my tale and therefore
I love you a lot hayden
its so insane how these beautiful lyrics were scrapped. hayden holds so much talent that even her unfinished and unreleased projects hold so much beauty. she really is something special
The demo is so much better than the original song, oh my god. It’s so good, it had that emotional touch to it

Dear Ethel Cain it has been a week today since I went up and saw you in Portland Maine. It was definitely one of the best days of my life and best concert I ever been to!!! I drove two hours out of state and waited 3 hours in line. I was lucky enough to get up front and you were so amazing you came up and held my hand sang to me during American teenager. You rubbed my hand while doing it and I can tell you are a true genuine artist. You are the best artist ever! Thank you so much for giving me that memory it has helped with my depression and anxiety so much. As your music always has since 2021. Love you mother ❤❤♥️

This demo is different from the one on Ethel's sc and absolutely bangs. I heard there were multiple versions of God's Country. How did you obtain? 🔥
ethels a friend of mine, she sent me this back in december 2020. before that there was another really stripped down demo with just the chorus that she posted on tumblr and another one with different verses / instrumental than this that i think she only sent to me n a few other people but never posted. those two, this one, and the final version are the only versions i know of
