Before slime starts back up, could you do a video explaining the slime world map a bit, and where all the different nations and events are located so many nations are "off screen" causing events to happen in slime kingdom, its a bit confusing knowing where they are in relation to each other, the OVA's made it similarly confusing as they were kinda similar, demons messing with a small kingdom off somewhere. the travel in slime is just kinda "were here now" and I'm not sure if its miles or 100's of miles away. not sure if that makes sense. but your video and writing format I think it would be a great video that I'd love to see.

A-1 Productions gave Igris the respect he deserves because he was animated INCREDIBLY and he ran Jin Woo’s fade with just his hands. The fact that the only reason SJW won was because of luck and it truly gave us Manhwa readers what we wanted and MORE. This episode was a 10/10 for me.
To me Igris lost due to chivalry and under estimating Jinwhoo's determination to survive or at least in the manwha that's how it was.

It’s explained that his former master (ashborn) told im to test the next candidate of the shadow monarch (jin-woo) and igris was holding back the whole fight and let jin-woo win as he believe jin-woo was fit/worthy of becomig the monarch of shadows.

*In the novel, it is implied that Igris became overconfident since he did not even dodge Jinwoo's attacks because they did not affect him. Jinwoo took the opportunity to give him a surprise attack with his dagger and then fatally wounded him in the neck with the ability that makes his attacks do more damage to vital points.*
*In manhwa and especially in anime they omit a lot of information related to Jinwoo's stats and abilities.*

Me and the gf did the exact same thing, she was pleased as a peach having read the manhwa beforehand and was very jazzed for this scene getting animated. Apparently it was everything they wanted from it, though my OCD self can't help but wish the otherwise incredible visual storytelling so far was able to include a lot of the missing nuances we're seeing pointed out in these videos.
Solo Leveling is a WILD ride, very obvious why my girl recommended it so highly.
This fight was so short in the Novel. But Manhwa and Anime made it 100 times better.
*Yes, but the biggest problem with anime and manhwa is that they omit quite a bit of information from the novel that gives more context to the story. They don't properly explain the issue of stats, how the system works, and Jinwoo's abilities, which makes it seem like some things don't make sense*
@@MobuThorsNighT0 The poster is mistaken, I think. Going to the penalty zone happens after Igris. Which is why he gets such a High Score in the quest after igris dies, and leads to the job quest being over capped and rewards that matched that. We will see it next episode.
@@kennethburmeister8119 the guy is talking about Jin woo's right gauntlet which he received before igris. When he grabs the sword it's skill activates which is it is immune to any kind of damage. They didn't show this stated. I admit that this one top-tier fight maybe even better than the source material. But that lack of details made it look like the thickest plot amors. It's this kind of mess up for which minors sometime calls the shounen/action power fantasy blunt and crap. But whatever... They're just minors anyway.
The anime will ALWAYS fall behind the manhwa at least when it comes to Solo Leveling imo
@@KàirosStygian IDK dude, maybe just your preference or nostalgia that you read Manhwa first but for me as I read manhwa after the episodes, Anime seems far superior till now with a few exceptions when I feel maybe anime should have added some small detail I see there. The art style/animation is totally comparable(I could agree Manhwa might be a fraction better but that's fine as anime includes every single thing in fluid motion while Manhwa is a collection of pictures so they have more liberty in drawing better art for a particular frame) while the background music and Voice actors make the anime from being comparable to absolutely superior in my personal opinion. The anime is following the Manhwa(and maybe even the novel but not sure since I didn't read it) and making slight changes (for the better) which do indeed make a good impact on Sung Jinwoo's character growth.

I think its just that they think we already know the gloves effect cuz its obvious (i mean its a piece of armour, not much else u can do with it). But they should've explained it nonetheless

These "pieces of armor" are not physically real (and the motive why it's invisible and untouchable), it's merely a feature of the system to improve his stats, hence why he got cut by the knight's sword on his back in the same episode, otherwise the sword attack wouldn't pass through the armor and cut his back. Only special effects like the one in this gauntlet are capable of such a thing as holding a sword with bare hands.
But yeah I agree with you they should have explained it to make clear for the audience this is not just plot armor MC move.
Edit: there's a scene in the ep 12 where he blocks a Knight's sword cut with his right arm, and that will probably make you question if that's really not physical armor, but don't forget that he is using THAT gauntlet in his right hand, the one that protect his arms from injuries, that's why he was always putting his right arm in front of his head, cuz this gauntlet has a effect that literally work like a physical armor: preventing direct injuries to the user.
But that's the only part of his armor that works like that, the other parts can be cut through cuz they are not physical as his right gauntlet, they are just a bunch of additional stats.
Watch Shangri-La Frontier its better.
With the gate being created topic: it's almost like the system is also learning alongside him, instead of being an omnipotent system.
Igris didn't just wipe the walls with him, he wiped out the walls with him. Bounced him like a basketball a couple times too. The whole episode was incredible.
I always find it amazing how Jinwoo wins through planning when he goes against opponents stronger. Usually in anime if you're weaker you lose, but Jinwoo engages in battle, analyzes his opponent and forges a plan to defeat them, no matter the opponent. It's also a cool aspect that he doesn't fight fair, even though it looks lazy, he always stabs his opponents in the eye, he found out it works against the spider boss, so he does it against everyone. It shows that he doesn't care how he wins but THAT he wins, fair or not he wins in the end

Solid 9.5/10 Animation and presentation of the fight and arena had me quaking in my boots. Shivering me timbers. This episode clearly ate the animation budget. Only flaw was the expulsion of the vital info about Sung’s dagger attack.
8/10 as broadcasted. 10/10 with your backstory. It makes much more sense. You enhanced ~2 pts on top.

9/10 this episode is awesome. It basically perfectly adapted Jinwhoo's fighting from the manwha. The anime Canmore fully depict the fighting in Jinwhoo vs Igris.

9.5 - With this added content. I was completely caught off guard by how immediately it was UP when Igris stepped out. MC got the brakes beat off that ass. But his innate ingenuity is clutch, I’m excited to see him hopefully invest in intellect.

episdoe 6 and 11 are my fav episode for how epic there both were. But the fight with Igris you could use with one quote "fight back bitch! fight back bitch!" it was amazing to see and I can't wait to see what there plan to do this Saturday! 10/10

Little details like this completely change my perception of how that fight played out. Almost everyone thinks Sung Jin Woo won by plot armor, and while he was indeed lucky, his ability to make adjustments and come up with clever ploys in the heat of battle made a HUGE difference. Thanks for covering it!

Great episode. My wife is kind of over your standard shonen anime combat, but really was impressed with this. Between this, Frieren, and even Shangri-La Frontier, both of us are finding a lot more to enjoy with the variety we're getting. I'm glad to see Mob Psycho wasn't the end of creative sakuga, and we're about to get more Mushoku Tensei (and Rimuru I hope too) for more sheer quality.

On first watch, I though he had awoken his magic abilities and this allowed him to counter attack with multiplied force. After all, that's a trope used in a lot in animes.

This episode's fight scene was better than all of the fight scenes in JJK season 2. Controversial, sure. But the fact still remains. It was a very hype episode. 8/10 for sure.
I love JJK, but I must say you are absolutely right. Overall I didn't like the drawing style and animation that JJK season 2 had, such uncared and disproportionate drawings, how the characters are so deformed, not the best decision. It's unfortunate that it was this disappointing in such an anticipated season

this explanation makes the fight a lot better. When I watched it I thought that while the fight itself was really cool, the way he ended up winning just felt shallow because the anime does a terrible job at showing what actually led to his victory.

A1 is doing a stellar job so far, but i fear what comes after. The art in the manwha is so detailed and specific that i feel like it wont be adapted well, and the art was the major factor for me getting into solo leveling😅

10/10 episode EASILY. One of the best animated fights I've seen in a long time that captured everything the manhwa portrayed and then some. I genuinely think that this fight was better than the one in the manhwa and that's not even an insult to it either; it's just that good. This definitely lived up to expectations and I'm very satisfied with what we got. Season finale is gonna be a banger.
it was the glove effekt to block weapons and luck and plotarmor so the normal thing. you learn very late the sung was testing the system and everything around to the extrem that he became like the administrator of it. ones i read it and realised it what happend it was mind blowing for me. this manwha is one of the best ive ever read and one of the first. this manwha started my manga reading jorney.
I always thought it was strange he didn't do his dailies, especially when he's had to use his full recovery in unknown situations. I never considered he'd actually think to hunt those penalty monsters on purpose.

Sung going to the penalty zone by accident was an excellent change given the pace of the anime imo. Super ingenious, works as a plot-developing point, added more tension and didn't retract from sung's focus on being prepared and wanting to get stronger. Chefs kiss.
It's the same in the manhwa actually. They're adapting more from that than from the novel.

I am an avid LN reader of the series Solo Leveling, and in the LN, Jinwoo actually completely forgot about the daily quest before entering the job change dungeon. Yes, he did take into account that the job-change quest would only take a little while, but time in dungeons isn't lateral in real world time. Red dungeons are an example of this. Hours in real time could equal weeks, days to months in dungeon. Of course, I was speculating this for the job change quest, bc it literally could have just been the time of night that he started. According to the LN, the time Sung Jinwoo goes into the job change quest, is literally late night. So forgetting the daily could just be summed up to a legitimate brain fart or a lapse in judgment for the conditions. As luck had it, it was hugely profitable and beneficial in his JC quest, allowing him to gain some much needed health regen and stamina, as well as armor piercing weapons, and a profitable battle plan to deal with the wall of knights, mages, and rogues he was succumbing to. I've not read the webtoon Manhwa. I only own a healthy number of Manga versions of Solo Leveling. While there are some similarities, there are far more differences by comparison - Light Novel (LN)/Manhwa/Manga/Web series. Some like pictures with little to no context, and let the art do the talking, others enjoy a little of both worlds and fewer like pure imagination through verbiage. Like your video - and glad you brought light to the issue! The anime is full of missing content which is sad bc of time limitations but hopefully in the future we can get 40 min episodes or longer. I'd watch them still if they had commercials. 25 mins episodes just isn't enough!

9/10 as much as I loved...well everything about the episode. Seeing Sunjinwoo make additional mistakes not in the manwha or light novel felt of. Still thanks for letting info about the system. It was driving me crazy that he wasn't using it to make crazy profits from buying stuff through the system and selling irl.
In the LN, SJW finds out that he can't transfer the items he buys in the shop to anyone else. Weapons, pots, nothing. But he does find a loophole with the pots, if he holds it he can pour the contents into your mouth so other can benefit as shown in the anime without context of course. But items he pics up from HIS runs like NPC drops he can transfer over. Items bought in the shop can also be transfered to his minions. But that might be only with reward drops, shit I can't remember....fuck
