Do you know why this piece on the Explorers always cracks? Mine has a crack in it and it's always parked in the garage all the time. Is it from closing the hatch?
@kevinspahr6632 it will only crack if force is applied to it. I broke mine closed the hatch and a brum rod got in a way. I have never seen cracked one just from weater.
@danthesprayman2986 no you don't and they aren't rivets they're plastic clips. If You watch video you will ses that glass doesn't have to be removed at all, but you can still believe the dealership and do what they say or let them rip you off
Thank you for doing this. I plan on getting a part from another company that puts extra lighs in that area.
You are welcome. Like tail light ?
Great video!! What size screws did you use?
Great news. I need to replace mine

I am interested to know how this is holding up after 9 months?
Holding up parfect nice and tight.
How do you screw in the piece under the window part? I can see where the back holes line up but what about the other area what’s holding that in?
You don't need to screw the front in because it is being held in place by glass window. The part itself slides under it.Watch video again

Ford part number FB5Z78290A61AA for the left side,
How do you get the plastic rivets inside the holes behind the glass?
You don't need to put anything in the holes behind the glass.Best and easiest thing to do is just to squeeze in some silicone in it and that is it.
Ok thank you! Appreciate it!
@@_Buky you are welcome Angel
what is the name of the piece

To do it right you need to remove the glass. There are 3 rivets that hold it in place under the glass.
