@@waitselljones8068 I agree, though I'd argue the two-party hatred was still there (though I'll admit I'm biased since I had just turned voting age around that time). Before there was Trump, Sarah Palin was kinda treated as almost a reality TV star personality/the source of media drama for the time, while Obama becoming the first black president was what people focused on a lot (which not to say it wasn't bad because it was a big deal, but specifications like policies and stuff didn't seem to get attenting at least when I first had to vote).
I absolutely love how in this admittedly badly-animated, awkward gameplay, weird dialogue story, Mat and Pat are clearly enjoying themselves far more - genuinely, not just because of 'so bad it's good' - than any Cage 'game' they've ever played.
idk. Matt's tweets over the years indicate that they do genuinely really enjoy this game. Its incredibly jank and can be unintentionally hilarious but I think it has an actual charm to it. I actually never realized how much of a twin peaks rip off it is until I started watching it like a week ago tho. It's shameless
It's got charm in spades despite that. I think that's what makes it work to the point that their is a sincere affinity for it. Pat's rivalry with Quint is still my favorite Best Friends moment. Pat's manic laughter when they actually get to complete the side mission always cracks me up.
So here's what's up: my dog of 12 years (the dog in my avatar) died last Wednesday. This has pretty much gutted me. I just don't have the energy to edit anymore videos, at least for awhile. Buddy (his name) was always there by my side sleeping, playing, or watching me through the editing of every single tbfp video I've done. Without him I probably wouldn't have ever bothered to edit any of these compilations. He helped push me through the (honestly) boring as fuck process of editing these videos. So in a way his spirit is in these compilations, and its thanks to him they exist at all. Especially in the last year and a half, he got tired and old and, in my off time, editing these videos also gave me a reason to sit by his side and be with him. So right now the schedule for this channel for the rest of the year is this: this DP comp, the Last of Us comp, one more secret comp, no Heavy Rain redux or NBA2K16 comps (I just don't have the drive anymore to edit them more, which both had corrections to be made). I have one more TBFP video already done after those comps. After that I'll jump back into a bunch of Silent Hill Downpour glitch videos that have been waiting for a year to be published. And I have other non-tbfp videos finished and I'll post those as well later. I'll eventually, hopefully, get back to editing comps but for now, I can't do it. Just enjoy the videos I've edited and, well, I had a good time editing them with him by my side. Without him, probably none of them would exist.
There's nothing to worry about. I think everyone feels with you and I am really sorry about your dog. It's almost been a year since one of my guinea pigs died in my lap because of some kind of weird illness that the vet couldn't pinpoint. I got so shocked and depressed that I puked my guts out for that whole night and I stopped drawing. I've slowly picked up my pen again but I just doesn't have that same fire about art that I used to have. It's still fun but that's all it is. So if you feel like just dropping everything for awhile you should do it and just take time to heal. Losing something so precious is a complete hell.
I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I won't claim to know what you're going through right now, but I want to say thank you for posting these compilations and keep your head up. I know it hurts now, but eventually you'll be able to think about Buddy and not get upset. Good luck.
The entire sequence of Pat standing out in the rain around 46:00, thinking he finally has a chance to do the thing he's been trying to do for half the LP, and having a breakdown as he's unable still leaves me in tears of laughter.

BlueScarabGuy DP is a masterpiece. Yea it has tons of problems but it really is the only game I know of that is a masterpiece despite the numerous bugs and technical issues. I've been in love with it ever since I picked it up for like $20 at a GameStop in 2011. I had never even heard of it at that time, and I shrugged and was like "eh, I'll try it."
spookycookies It's fantastic. Though here's the thing: the original Twin Peaks is Lynch holding himself back and trying to somewhat work within the mold of murder-mystery-drama television. Fire Walk With Me and The Return? It's full-on 100% Lynchian madness. But it's totally worth it, it's art plain and simple.
It totally is! When I first heard the theme, I immediately clocked that it's from Mario World. So great. Swery ripping off Twin Peaks and Mario at the same time

On the next stop on the hype train, it's time for fever dreams.. isn't that right, Zach? We hope you enjoy our monkey squirrels, false deity praising, choppy frames, totally not based off Twin Peaks-y, quality of a time. We hope you enjoy your stay on the hype train because it has gone off the rails and we don't know if it'll ever return. Have a great stay at Twin Peaks-- I mean.. uh.. Green..vale..? Is.. is that right, Zach?
The Pat noise at 31:32 gives me the idea for a little clip of the Immigrant Song playing as York gets chased with Pat on vocals

I'm surprised all of these eventually happened
Sigismund, The Emperor's Champion wait a minute...which lp did they cancel? i dont remeber that happening.

Just in case you didn't put it together, the FK in the coffee stands for Forrest Kaysen, i just thought that was a nice little hint at the beginning of the game
NOW IF ONLY I KNEW WHY THE FUCK FORREST IS IN D4 LIKE WHAT?!?!?!
This whole video just makes me feel like I'm being attacked by Pat as my name is Quint
What a wonderful place to come back to after that Twin Peaks: The Return finale.
BlueScarabGuy DP is a masterpiece. Yea it has tons of problems but it really is the only game I know of that is a masterpiece despite the numerous bugs and technical issues. I've been in love with it ever since I picked it up for like $20 at a GameStop in 2011. I had never even heard of it at that time, and I shrugged and was like "eh, I'll try it."
spookycookies You won't hear any disagreement from me. I'm just coming back here because I'm in the mood for twin peaks-y stuff after the show ended.
BlueScarabGuy haven't watched the new season. Is it as good as everyone is saying?
spookycookies It's fantastic.
BlueScarabGuy a free David Lynch is a good David Lynch. Kinda like a free Swery is a good Swery.
aw you cut off "THIS FUCKING FLOWER IS BULLSHIT"
Yoooooo it's out on the switch!!
The intros music and static water makes me think I'm watching Interface
I don't know why I want this game so bad. It plays like trash and it's the best game ever.
It has this one in a million trait of being janky as hell but also having extremely good cinematic direction.
Thank you for making this!
Life is Beautiful is just a slowed down version of the Overworld theme from Super Mario World.
It totally is! When I first heard the theme, I immediately clocked that it's from Mario World. So great. Swery ripping off Twin Peaks and Mario at the same time

I always wondered why it was so damn catchy and familiar. So when I found out it blew my mind because part of me always sort of knew.
SHIT IM STINKY!!
Its 4:04 pm on a wednesday as I'm watching this RIGHT NOW wtf!
