Thank you for the excellent videos. The deeper water jugging technique is great. I have a set from your design and they work great.

I used copper ground wire. Concrete ate up the aluminum. I would recommend the cups. Spray them with cooking oil?
Nice video and tips. Thank You

I used these with the Team Catfish weight slides to make a ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxdmsDj7fQXe77DC0l7P7ua8B3PiESUubM Carolina rig and they were perfect for the ponds I fish. I have also used them to make 3 way rigs and these work perfectly. Haven't had any issues with them snagging in rocks or in weeds yet.

My generation won a world war! After talking to serval experts, I was told the reason was because the Americans would improvise better. Watching this video reminds me of that. GRIZ

You can add sand or small gravel to your mixture to make it go farther.

That's a pretty good idea, unfortunately most places I fish don't have trees close to where I set. My 5 year old Co-Captain is gettin a good eye and starting to help. Are you fishing mainly rivers?

Great video. I am going to make some but I was going to use cans that had corn in them. After seeing your video, I don't think it will work because the concrete will be stuck to the inside of the can. I like the plastic cup idea much better. I am from Oklahoma. What part of Oklahoma are you from?

Have you considered putting an eye bolt in from the bottom of the cut? It would be a little more expensive but less likely to get hung up in limbs because the top would be smaller in diameter...any thoughts. I love your ideas but am inclined to make a little lighter weights...probably will just fill them quite as full. Thanks.

I have considered it, but it seemed like metal wire was more economical. As far as getting hung up, i would be more concerend about the diameter of the weight than the eye bolt or wire. So far ive never has a wire pull out and ive only lost 2 weights being hung up, i run jugs 3-5 times a month. If you find a good weigh to make smaller weights, let us know! Thanks

+THE JugMASTER I'd imagine there are smaller and smaller cups to use. Myself, I am starting to collect the ferrels off the bottom of golf course flagsticks. They weigh 4 ounces each. I figure they'll work good on single hook shallow water noodles. I use old window weights on my trotlines and am about to make a few weights like your to try.

What about attaching the weights with mono so if the weight gets hung up you can break it off without losing all your gear?

    • @CulliganMan131

David, most of the time if I get hung up the barrel swivel "interlock" clip will break, before my mainline does. That's 1 reason I leave so much room between my bottom hook and weight. Everytime the weight breaks off the distance between the 2 get closer.

Just buy some cheap swivels an put them in

Hmmm, Why are you attaching a weight to a jug anyway? ?? That's defeating the purpose of what it is supposed to be doing . Jugs are suppose to "float" the river.

William Busby you must have never been iug fishing every time I run mine I have to go find them bc the 50lb blue will carry it everywhere. They do with mine anyways. And I have 3lb anchors on mine. They still carry em pretty far. No weight and even the 15lbers gonna take off with it you’ll never find it. Plus you want your bait on the bottom when going for catfish

How did these lighter weights work out compared to your heavier ones.

    • @CulliganMan131
      @CulliganMan131  9 років тому

Lighter weights worked great, made it a lot easier to tell if there is a fish on while running my jugs. They didnt make my new orange jugs stand up straight so i reverted back to the heavier weights for them, but if your jug has a 3/4" pvc ran through it, then 1-1.5 lb weights will do the trick. My orange jugs have a 1" diamater pvc in them
