There are two things I greatly appreciate about this video. The first is that you are with your son and you two are fishing. There is a high likelihood he will always remember the day that big one go away. He may just share that story with his son. And his grandson. At 66 years old, I can tell you for a fact that getting older happens in a blur. Take advantage of every moment, like this river adventure. The second thing is the lesson you are teaching about giving away fish and making others happy. You son is extremely fortunate to have a dad who took him to the river who and is instilling an extremely important value. Keep doing what you are doing, my friend. And don't blink. He will be graduating from HS before you know it.

Fishing with my stepson in 2003 when I catch about a four pound rainbow in Montana. Young fell asked if he could fight the trout , held on to the fly rod for a bit then the leader parted . Many years later I asked if he remembered that big fish . Nope 😢😢

My son is 30 now. My dad started carrying me hunting with him when I was 4. I was barely big enough to hold the .410 shotgun. But we loved the outdoors. My dad taught me the importance of nature and how to respect it and love it and be thankful for each bounty harvested. I said my son is 30. We still spend every minute we can in the woods, especially during hunting season. I'm thankful for all the memories I have with my dad and so thank for the ones I have and keep making with my 30 year old kiddo. Awesome job with your son. His excitement brought back many memories.

I can't tell what wonderful memories your video brought back to me. We always went camping. Before we even got to the water, dad had my brother and I pick up every cigarette butt and pull tags. Once camp was set up, we were fishing for trotline and jug bait. The excitement of put them out and baiting that evening was pure joy. That night we go frog gigging. In the morning, after breakfast, we were running for the boat. The thrill of chasing jugs and running trotline is what I will remember to my last day. My dad did something that I would never do. Anytime we caught a gar, he would break their jaw. I always felt bad about this.

Excellent video guys. It’s so awesome that the two of you are having so much fun fishing together. My kids are grown now, but we still get together for fishing trips, just in their part of the country, my baby girl is in Tn (fly fish for trout), one’s in Florida (peacock bass), the other in Tx (largemouth bass), and as for me, I take em out in the Gulf or on the beach. Treasure it, it’s these moments that you’ll reflect on for a lifetime….❤❤❤
