@raydemos1181 Well, that was mean. There is no rubber seal on the windshield of a 1966 Mercury Comet. There is no pinch weld on a '66 to attach a rubber gasket. The glass adheres directly to the A pillar. Now you know how terrible it isn't.
You don't need a frit to use urethane. Yes a frit band helps adhesion, protects from uv's and prevents distortion but the other option is old school butyl. I think a frit band would look silly on a classic car.
Glad I found this . Looks like I’m going to have to do this to my 65 galaxie rear window
Thankyou, looks like through your efforts l will give it a go.I have a ford courier 2004 model appears to be glued in like yours.Australia🇦🇺
I’m watching this two yrs after posting. I’m curious if it has held with no leaks?
Absolutely water tight. Garage kept but washed weekly. Never a drop of water inside.
@brandonstorer6614 I'm going to do my 66 galaxie front windscreen now .cheers..from Australia
No OEM style rubber seal with bedding compound? That is how they do the new cars, no rubber seal however...
where is your rubber seal that goes around the edge of the glass, this job looks terrible

You didn't install the ramp.
There's no frit band on that windshield. Don't believe it's meant to be urethane glued in without one
