1966 Mercury Comet build. 390 FE. Black Widow venom. Classic car.
Переглядів 1,3 тис.2 роки тому
This was my first attempt at building a classic car. My current project is a 1971 GMC C15 with a custom 383 stroker. As you can tell this build was not a "restoration". I wanted to build a cool muscle car to drive daily. The rebuilt 390FE put out a modest 350 HP and 440 ft lbs of torque on the Dino. I installed a rebuilt toploader 4 speed transmission with a new Hurst shifter, new 3 1/2" Dennys...

    where is your rubber seal that goes around the edge of the glass, this job looks terrible

      @brandonstorer6614 24 дні тому

      @raydemos1181 Well, that was mean. There is no rubber seal on the windshield of a 1966 Mercury Comet. There is no pinch weld on a '66 to attach a rubber gasket. The glass adheres directly to the A pillar. Now you know how terrible it isn't.

      @LoneWrencher I did the brake conversion back in 2016, and there weren't a lot of options then. The company was from California and was half the cost of a Wilwood kit. It did use the stock spindles and actually uses GM rotors and calipers. Now there's low cost Ford conversions everywhere. Crazy.

    I like how you ran this without a battery. Even if you decide to add a battery later, this setup is perfect for supporting the winch battery with your charging system during a long or heavy pull. They make a bracket to hold the cable to the bumper or frame. Use another (unwired) end to keep the terminal clean. Then you can plug the winch or your battery cables into that mounted plug.

That and blowing them right to the ground creates more dust than it's worth.

    I agree, Idaho sucks! There's an area around Coeur d' Alene was designated by the EPA as a "Superfund Cleanup" site from a smelter that spewed lead everywhere. That lead is still here. It's on all the trails and in all the waterways including the Coeur d' Alene river and lake Coeur d' Alene. That means you really shouldn't swim here or do anything else in the water. If you fish here, you'll consume enough lead to wind up retarded. Oh, we don't wear masks, even while sneezing. Really, if you're from some coastal state, you'll be contemplating suicide in a couple of years if you move to Idaho. I'd love to live in a state with beaches and warm weather, but I'm stuck here in Idaho. We get enough snow to bury a house, so unless you're up to that, maybe you should think twice before traveling here. Better to stay where you don't need to own at least one snow blower and one snow mobile to make it through winter. The skiing is bad too, we had 2 people get killed by an avalanche in Sandpoint. I'd talk with your insurance agent and invest in a good health plan before moving here. Seriously.

And make the clean out plate big enough to be able to see all the shredder knives. From other videos. The hopper will wind the 1/2 inch limbs around the shredder blades. Making it where you have to remove the hopper, and the side of the shredder chamber to get the wound up limb out.

It DOES NOT TAKE 3" limbs...... The shaft sheered the following year and of course i did not take the extended warranty. The Customer Service line is a joke. You have to have a lot of time to stay on hold until anyone answers. Once answered, the Customer Service rep. stated i could purchase another shaft for it. I did and it was not really that expensive. They also sent it pretty fast. Well, that was a joke. You literally have to be a small engine mechanic with all the tools to tear the entire engine apart to install the new shaft. A friend told me it was cheaper to purchase another engine with the shaft. So, i called back, waited an hour and they took the part back. I ordered the engine for $120 but now the shaft does not smoothly fit the hub. Very long frustrating time latere, i sold the entire piece of crap on Facebook to someone for $50 and bought a REAL CHIPPER!.
