This one fooled me! I figured out the prediction bit easily, but the fact you had him put the card on top and then cut it in flew by me. When I thought back after the performance to try and figure it out I just remembered it as ‘the spectator put their card in the packet wherever’. Well performed!
Just wanted to say that your tricks are the best out of all the magic tutorial channels in my opinion. Your teaching style is perfect and so easy to follow, and all your tricks are high quality. Thank you and I’m so glad you’re back!
To get a glimpse I like to over hand shuffle and at the end the bottom card is facing you, but the way you showed would work as well, especially if you are telling a story or something like that
I feel like there could be an issue with the spectator reading the cards in the opposite direction. like left to right and top to bottom could be a completely reverse order depending on how they spread out the cards...
Maan i love these kind of tricks so so so muchhh!! All my card tricks that i memorize are exactly similar in concept to this. They are so EXTREMELY simple that ANYONE can do with no experience whatsoever with cards, and at the same time they cause brain injury to people seeing it. I do data analysis/problem solving/investigations for living. I love these kinds of tricks so much because it just shows you how sometimes the solution to what seems to be the biggest most impossible problem can be soooo easy and simple that you will just laugh at the stupidity of it. You just need to focus and think...and look at the problem from different perspectives to finally catch the solution. My favorite magic trick is the simplest one that exists ever. I've had people think I talk to ghosts with a trick that just involved me forcing them a card and telling them what it was (but i have extraordinarily amazing delivery).
I came up with alternative way of doing this trick that is equally startling. The first difference is, do not pull out a "prediction" card and put it in your pocket. Leave that part out.. Otherwise start the trick the same, all the way up to where they've finished reading off all the cards and with your back turned, you've brought their "liar" card to the top and palmed it. But before you turn around, tell them to square up their packet of cards and turn them over so they're face down on the table. Then turn around, but instead of putting the palmed "Liar" card in your pocket to pull out, place it secretly on top of their packet. Then turn the packet over and do a sort of "reverse cull," getting the top "liar" card directly underneath the Joker, or whatever way works best for you. You can say you want to look at the Joker to get a sense of what the "liar" card might be. Line up the "liar" card under the Joker, then spread the packet out face up, carefully so that the "liar" card is hidden under the Joker. Mention how they went through and named all the cards, but when they came to the Joker, they said a made up "liar" card instead. Ask them what the "liar" card is. Now push the Joker aside, revealing the "liar" card is actually underneath the Joker!!
Haha you would think so right? I actually just got very lucky, when he shuffled he very clearly showed the bottom card of the deck to me (unknowingly) and then shuffled it to the bottom. So I was able to know the bottom card without taking the deck back.
For the past year or so all of my videos have been my own creations. I mainly take inspiration from other magicians that I watch. My top 3 favorites are Christian Grace, Ollie Mealing, and Dani Daortiz. Those 3 in my opinion have the best card tricks I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and watch some of their performances and you will see what I mean.
@@AMillionCardTricks I actually just subscribed to Christians monthly videos and it is honestly some of the best magic I’ve ever seen. I wish he’d spread out some more on the types of card tricks as they seem to all be around the same principle (like most the magic happening in spectators hands or multiple spectators needed to do the trick) but his mind is on another planet😂
@@Munyanyo2219 I also subscribed! Haha I’m a sucker for those types of tricks (everything in their hands), so that’s why I love it so much. But I agree I would love to see more ideas.
@@AMillionCardTricks I honestly couldn't watch another person's performance and understand. For the past months I've been used to you not only explaining what we are going to do but also what will happen next like some other magic content creators only tells you that they will guess your card and that's it. Plus, most of magic content creators don't post the tutorial in the same video, they're just like: "come back for part two" The point is that no one could explain better than you, and you should be proud of that because not many people have this skill of explaining.
Since the prediction doesn’t matter, I’m gonna let them pick it. I’ll just say, ‘I want you to make a prediction, pick any card and don’t look at it.’ Then carry on the same as the tutorial. I think it’s best to let them do everything so that the trick is completely clean apart from the ending. Such a cool trick! Thanks for showing this!
I love your tricks, but tbh I think holding part of the deck looks suspicious. Maybe leaving it in the table would be more fair. Then, after they named their card, use slight to move it to the top and hide it as if it wasn't in that deck. Next, palm it to pocket... Still a nice idea!
I honestly don’t think that would improve the trick. Imagine if I did the trick, named his card, turned around, and then picked up the rest of the deck on the table for no apparent reason. I can’t see any justifiable reason for needing to show the spectator the rest of the cards, or any reason for me to pick up that deck at all. If anything the spectator should forget that the rest of the deck was in play. That’s why I hold it with me while I’m turned around. When the spectator is reading the cards to me, all of their attention is there in front of them, the fact that I’m holding the rest of the deck won’t be on their mind in that moment. I think the most perfect way to perform this trick would be to use an index where you could pull out any card from your pocket, but this is probably the best impromptu version you could get. I appreciate the ideas though!!
@@AMillionCardTricks I appreciate your comment. But what if you don't turn your back on the spectator, say, cuz u don't trust them, like u said in the vid? In that case, you'd be holding the rest of the deck for no reason? How would you manage in that case? Thanks for replying Nathan!👍🏻🙋🏻
@@hernannoriega5436 Ah ok I see what you mean. In that case, if you have a table like the one I have here, you could very easily take the cards back and casually put them in your lap. I don’t think they would really mind, especially if you don’t make too big a deal out of that action. Because again, all of their attention will be in front of them.
@@AMillionCardTricks A couple problems I see with these scenarios: - If you don't turn around, as suggested; that's going to make your ability to have figured out which card was the lie, a WHOLE lot less impressive, right? Lol. After all, you'd have been watching him reading the cards. - Secondly, at some point the performer is going to need a few seconds to find the key card and palm the next "prediction" card. And if he's facing the spectator, or his lap... that's gonna be a problem! Lol. Great job though! 🙂
@@MMAFightMagazine Thanks for the comment! Yeah I totally agree with you, this is why I prefer turning around for the card revelation (plus to hide the palming). I only would suggest facing the spectator when you tell them to place the joker in and cut the cards. Some people get confused and stick the joker directly in the middle, so it's a safety hazard for that case.
Then just checkout the top card of the pile and the bottom by just spreading out the card saying every card is different, so joker is gonna be sandwitched between the two cards uk
seems way too obvious -- pretty easy to pick up a trick when you clearly place their card (or the joker in this case) right next to the top or bottom card. Oh and then you turn around for like 2 minutes and can look at the deck and do whatever you want....

What a great trick, its straightforward and easy. Really do like watching your tricks and tutorial afterwards.👍. Keep it going.

I'm confused like how do you come up with these tricks? Like you get them from someone else, you invent them or how?

Yo Nathan, sometime soon you should make a Y.T. vid showing your complete card collection. I've always wanted you to make a vid about that.

But I would never lie to you mr a million card tricks 🥰🥰🥰
