Let me know one standard price for the class, i really want to know the features in it, have been going through lot of videos, still not able to sort them out. Kindly help me. Thank you...
Hi. You can upload any wave sound onto the M12. Either take some from a sample pack, or create your own sounds within any DAW (Like Logic, Garage Band, Ableton and so on.). You can also find tons of sounds free to download on the internet. Google is your friend there. :) Have fun!
@@tobiasmiorin it's really appreciated. I used the spd-sx for several years, got Sensory Percussion now, but missed having a multipad also, so I got the dtx a couple of days ago. Now I need to find my way around this and see how I can incoorporate it :-) are you on instagram too? maybe we can exchange in there - i am at instagram.com/mikas_musik
Hey man! Thanks for the video. Somehow ableton receives no sound from the DTX. Everything is set up, even ableton recognizes the midi when I play the drumpad, but without any sound. I can even record and the midi will show up, but I can’t hear anything.. I did everything correct in tve midi preferences etc. I would be so happy about any tip, thanks!
Hey Max, Sorry to hear you're having problems. The fact that Ableton receives the MIDI is a good sign though. Means you've got it all set up properly. What instrument are you using with it? A drum rack? Can you see the squares in the pad overview light up orange? Are there sounds on the relevant notes?
Thanks for the video. I got a used Macbook Pro with Big Sur already installed in it. I donwload the driver but Ableton LIve doesn't pick up the Multi 12. I know its not the cable cause I hooked it back to my 2009 Macbook Pro an it works fine. Is the Milti12 now obsolete?
Hi Erick, I just got a new Mac and hadn't tried it yet. You're right. No luck here either. I spoke to one of the developers of the pad though, he said he will pass it on and they hopefully will release an updated USB driver soon! Thanks for pointing it out! It will still work via the 5-pin USB though, so if you have that option on your interface go for that for the time being.. All the best
@@tobiasmiorin thanks... I did try going thru midi cable but i was having latency...i guess that should be an easy fix tho. 2nd option may be to go down to the OS Catalina. Keep on rocking!!!
Hi bro. I connected my dtx to laptop. ( Compaq celeron 2GB RAM 120 gb hardisk) And using addictive drums. AS DAW. It works fine but it has little bit latency issue. WHEN PLAYING LIVE. Also I installed ASIO DRIVER.. BUT MY question is do I need to add some external sound card to get rid of latency issue. Or is there any parameters in ASIO DRIVER settings like sample rates. And run it smoothly.
Hi, sorry, I'm afraid 2GB ram is pretty small for stuff like this. I have no experience with Asio drivers, sorry. Not sure what you mean there. Are you using addictive drums as a standalone? Are there any buffer size settings? Basically, the smaller the buffer size, the shorter the latency. Unfortunately smaller buffer size is also more work for your computer and will drain your CPU, so you'll have to find a good balance between the two to be able to work smoothly.
Hi Tobias. Thanks for the video. Is there any similar advice you could give for controlling Nord drum through the Yamaha DTX Multi 12? I just don't understand the manual at all.
Hi! Sorry, If I understand correctly you want to play your yamaha pad and thereby trigger sounds from the Nord Drum? Is that right? I haven't worked with the Nord Drum before I'm afraid but looking it up it seems it has a MIDI IN on the back - that would imply that you should be able to control it with the pad, yes! You'll need a 5 pin MIDI cable and connect the MIDI OUT on the Yamaha to the MIDI IN on the Nord. Then make sure that the MIDI settings on the Yamaha are set to MIDI and not to USB (I explain this in this video). You might have to change the midi notes on the pad too to get the correct sounds triggered. You should be able to find that out by playing around a little bit though. Let me know how you get on :)
Hi Malik, you can for example send tempo information from Ableton to the Yamaha Pad. I have to admit though that I haven't found a reason for doing that.. haha But it's a possibility!
Hi Rob. That seems strange. I haven't heard about Catalina problems with it. Could you double check 2 things for me? 1.) Make sure you have set the MIDI setting on the pad to USB and not MIDI. (check 1.29 in this video again) 2.) Have you tried a different MIDI cable? Let me know how you get on!
Hi i am connecting dtx 12 through windows in fl studio its working fine. But can u plz tell me if i want to run smoothly what should b the minimum configuration of my pc or laptop ( windows)
Hi Suvarna, the configuration of your computer won't effect the drum pad - it effects the DAW you use. Therefor this is a very hard question to answer. Generally I would recommend Ableton because it's very stable and runs smoothly with not too much CPU. If you use it all live on stage I would recommend at least 8 or 16GB RAM and a SSD hard drive. I hope this helps you a little bit
It's the same process. On Yamaha's page there is a driver for Windows 32 and 64 bits. Follow the same steps. It worked for me. Btw, thanks for helping, Tobias. Upload more Drum loops videos.
Hi Trevor, What OS are you running? Seems like the Yamaha driver doesn't work with Big Sur just yet. I've let Yamaha know and they said they'll work on a new one. If you're running any other, try restarting the computer first. That should do the trick. Let me know how you get on..
@@tobiasmiorin Do you know if there is a way to get the "mute switch" function from the DTX 12 to work with midi? This is the feature that when you press down on a pad it's as if you're using your hand to mute the note and kill the volume.

Tobias Miorin thanks for getting back to me! Yeah I have switched it I the DTX menu to say midi. The square does not light up at all, and it actually won’t work with my m-audio code either. They both work with usb, but not midi. And I have the latest drivers for each.
@@nj7627 Very weird. One easy mistake is to plug in the MIDI cable to wrong way around. You want MIDI OUT on the pad going into MIDI IN on the interface. That all done? The interface shows up in your MIDI preferences in Ableton alright though?
Absolutely! Just drag and drop the sounds you want to play into a drum rack within Ableton. There you can edit them if you want and then play them with the Yamaha Pad
Do you mean importing waves onto the drum pad? You can only do this via an USB stick and the "to device" socket. It's not possible do to it directly from laptop to pad.
