If I had to guess I’d say it’s a partially timecoded show for general audio cues, so then the sound guy just has to make minor adjustments. Same with the lighting guy. I’ve seen some pretty complex artists that do this.

This is insane. The energy this guy has on stage is second to none. Let alone the fact that his writing is layered and deep, his music inspiring and he just made the audience sing a flawless Harmony in less than ten seconds.
Anyone else actually impressed by the drummer switching and keeping time so well. Only Jacob can have such talent as the drummer and bassist and make them feel like backups
The bassist is an absolute masterclass as well. That part's extremely difficult even without talking about how precisely he's controlling the note lengths and pluck sounds.

On average people are pretty good at being at least decently in tune -- music and imitation is sort of built into us. That doesn't necessarily mean everyone can sing well, but most people can find a note.
My theory is that, if you have a lot of people trying to sing one note, then the note being heard will average out. So all the slightly lower then the note singers and the slightly higher then the note singers and the bang on perfect singers will all average out to create one tone if that makes sense. So your ear perceives the correct note.
The musicianship is absolutely off the charts within everybody on this stage and everyone in this audience. We understand what music does for the world: it makes it keep on spinning
Honestly, I didn't know how to feel anymore at some point. I felt so much joy listening to this and at the same time I just wanted to cry. Watched JC live in Auckland, New Zealand last week. Wholey moley what an insane show. I've never seen a crowd so fixated and responsive before. Even during the quietest song you could hear ears listening. Amazing engagement and the band is so so sick with their feel and stunning layers. JC is a real showman who's ridiculously talented. Has been added to my list of top shows. Someone all musicians, actually, EVERYONE needs to see.

Ik raad je aan om hem een keer live mee te maken. Ik heb hem gezien in Paradiso en dat was echt een onvergetelijke show. Na z'n setlist heeft hij nog bijna een half uur met het publiek staan spelen zoals de 1e 1.5 minuut van deze video.
