The best nicknames are the ones that belong to athletes that back up every bit of it. RIP Kobe. But what I love most about Coach Prime is that this was no stunt. He turned out to be a really, really good coach. This shouldn't be surprising. Deion's one of those cats that wants to be the best at everything he does. It has almost no effect anywhere. Sports spending is just entertainment spending. Basically people got a certain amount of money they're gonna spend on entertainment and sports is just one way they'll do it. When sports spending goes up, comedy, music, arts, all kinda other stuff goes down. Yea there's a sports bar that's blowing up in boulder right now, but there's a comedy club that's falling off

Pay attention to how he treats his players. Prime loves all of them. He speaks real but without screaming and degrading his players. He takes the time to know them as human beings and gives them respect. Prime is a revolution in how to nurture and build up young men. Pay attention because this is how you do this in the new generation. Very few people respond well to negative feedback given by a screaming weirdo maniac which has been the modus opperandi for most coaches since forever. I predict a National championship in 2025. I'd love to see some sort of relegation/promotion system implemented. Tie 'major' conferences to 'minor' ones and shuffle the bottom and top each year. It'd reward actual performance instead of the general hype and 'name recognition'.
Parity an actual shot at a National Title can only improve the sport as a whole. If it works for a global sport like soccer (coincidentally known as football to nearly the entire globe) I see no way it wouldn't work for the sport we know as football.

    • @KingDavis619
      @KingDavis619 Рік тому

@smithnwesson990 Of course. It's about money, rich traditions, brightest lights. We've had trouble keeping our own star players. SD has 4 Heisman winners. None of them played at SDSU. What hurts us is the fact we've never had a year where we were the G5 school who made it to a BCS bowl game or NY6 Bowl. That's been the missing ingredient to start rolling in that direction.

Another great video, job well done! It seems to me that the NCAA is trying to be on more of a power trip than ever. Now that these young athletes can actually make money that they deserve to make with NIL the powers that be are just looking for new ways to show people that they can still take it all away. I'm glad you brought up Tez Walker being that I'm a huge UNC fan plus I live in Canton Ohio which is only a half hour away from the Kent State main campus and stadium. Anyone that's a fan of college football around here knows how good he is and are or were excited to see how much better he would be with Drake Maye as his QB. The NCAA might have just cost this kid from potentially being a 1st round draft pick and in turn millions of dollars. Since Drake Maye will be entering the draft unless something bad happens to him, Tez Walker won't have as talented of QB when he is finally eligible. It's just really sad to see. I hate seeing good people that did nothing wrong at all flat out getting fucked over.

I recognized him at a burger place he was trying to be low key at. We both met as we were going to the restroom and I started a conversation with him. He's a great guy. The crap you saw on TV and the acting he did was just that.

He was not annoyed but just normal and cool. We talked about fishing too. It was about 10 minutes before he got in but he was the nicest guy and when he was leaving the BR he said goodbye on his way out.

I'm a recent sub of your show and I think it's great. Just my opinion as an old guy that played small ball (70's NAIA football), I've just not happy with College, particularly D1 football. I may be able to get through this year but team loyalty is gone. With the ability of hs kids getting massive sponsorships to play at a school and the open portals, it's just minor league NFL on taxpayer dollars.
I'm sick of it. I was an undersized outside linebacker and wideout. Speed was almost ok in a time with college ball was all world class speed. I made a good target in practice but after a couple of dingers and losing the ability to remember the last 3 games, I had to give it up. I would still have stayed even if it meant just limping on with special teams once a game but my coach was looking out for me. Kept my scholarship even though I'd never suit up again. That's how much I, and everyone else loved that game. That game is not this game.
I'm glad you keep me interested in the game. If not for your content, I think my departure from all NCAA would be over.
I still love going to watch HS ball where my nephew is a new assistant at a 5A school. That's still game.

In the T. Brown case they should make a new rule about witnessing a death or something traumatic, as that would over gave him the one free transfer from JSU to CU. I know colleges already have rules if something traumatic happens to a student at the university.

The " Prime Effect " was in effect tonight as people who want to see him succeed like me and the haters that wanna seem him fail and Twitter was goin nuts thinking Primetime was gonna lose to Colorado State, what a gameeeeee

What up Flemlo I haven’t commented in a while but for Coach Prime I will… I was just saying how he deserves a blank check from the NCAA due to what he has done for the game itself. There are people who haven’t watched college football in years talking about CU. I’m an avid SEC and ACC fanatic (born and raised upstate South Carolina), living in “the heart of big ten country” (now residing in Columbus, OH. Since the naming of Coach Prime as the head coach, I’ve been a Colorado fan… that’s the prime effect in a nutshell
Edit: I can’t wait for the prime time cannabis strain

I hate Ticketmaster and all those predatory behavior of scalpers these days. I can remember as a kid going to see the Texas Longhorns around Thanksgiving every year growing up in Austin. The one year Ricky Williams broke the record I was there and we got our tickets for probably 100 bucks apiece… I would hate for some kid to miss out on sad experience because of scalpers becoming too greedy and buying all the tickets as soon as they go on sale basically. My dad took me to a bunch of rock shows in there too, and the concert scene is all fucked to.

Dude, he used to be Neon Deion back in the day. I wouldn't doubt if he got the nickname Prime Time from the Atlanta Falcons playing on TBS or something similar since Ted Turner (from Atlanta, owner of the Braves) owned the TBS & TNT Networks. It's either that, or Chris Berman, host of NFL Prime Time from 1987 to 2005, gave him the nickname because he had highlights every week on the show when he played for the Falcons from 1989 to 1993. Some guy on a bus didn't give Deion that nickname. Make no mistake though, Deion is awesome.

Get your facts straight and stop making opinions you don't even know or care to know. I'm from Jacksonville, FL and Coach Prime is also from Florida. Our highschool played against their highschool in tournament play. And they was calling him PrimeTime then and now.
Now let's move forward Coach Prime went to Florida State in 1985 and I went to Florida State in 1986. And he was being called Prime Time at FSU as well. Also, this is the time his name, image, and likeness went Prime Time and the rest is History.
For future reference speak on something you know not on something you think you know.

I predict that the Big10-12-16-24 or whatever it is next year, becomes fully independent and removes itself from the NCAA to negotiate its own rules and broadcasts - possibly even dropping recruiting completely and going to a draft model. The open hatred for the NCAA is simply bad for business, and when enough powerful schools have enough bargaining power to cut away, I see absolutely zero reason they wouldn't.
