    the pattern on the x and y is because of the large pulley on the stepper motor, which is causing the vertical fine artifacts (VFA) to be more noticable. If you want to correct this, change the xy stepper motors to .9 degree steppers and double the steps per mm in the firmware after the k1 becomes open source. :)

    • @EmbraceMaking

    Haven’t watched the whole video yet but hoping this will fix my issues with my k1. Already upgraded hot end, extruded and bought a filament dryer. I still get layer separation halfway through my prints. Owned this for 5months now and I haven’t print 1 successful thing that didn’t take a 3ft fall and shatter in layers. Solid review as always. I don’t think this is up to Bambu machines quality yet. You are spot on, these are not yet appliances. There is a learning curve. You have a complex mechanical device controlled by complex electronics and software. Starting with a less expensive printer is a good suggestion as long as it is functional out of the box. I think also it should be running Klipper. Maybe there is another video you should make.

    • @EmbraceMaking

      Thanks! I'm going to see if I can get my hands on a P1P to do a head to head comparison between the two... plus a K1 max in the near future. When you suggested doing a video, to be clear did you mean a less expensive printer running Klipper? Like a general "how - to" on getting an Ender 3 (for example) running klipper?

    • @Kyle5K
      @Kyle5K Рік тому

      @@EmbraceMaking why do people keep suggesting Klipper for the K1, isn't Klipper just a speed upgrade for older slower 3d printers? If so, how can speed this beast up any more, it's already blazing fast.

    Watching your video and wondering if you would have an answer to my K1 problem. I'm using PLA. I've noticed some of my prints will come off the bed, I use glue, and be lying as if flung by a Gremlin. I finally noticed that the mylar on the print bed comes up with a bubble, which lifts one edge of the print that then contacts with the nozzle and gets felled!! I haven't heard back from Creality yet, my 'fix' as it were is to lay magnets on top of the raft edge and the build plate to hold the print down a few minutes into the print. This seems a shameful fix so was wondering if you had another idea before changing print beds. I know that maybe changing mylar may help but what adheres the mylar to the print bed. Unless I just rip it off (begone bed). Thanks for the great impression, I like mine a lot over my Monoprice III

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  Рік тому

      Thank you! Yes it's higher than what the hotend can probably do. However, since I know my speeds are under the limits of the printer I don't want the slicer to use the flow rate to limit my speed. If you put it too low ie. like 15mm/s^3 the slicer will adjust the speeds to stay under the flow limit and you might not notice if you don't check the speed details in the slicer preview.

    Sir, thank you so much for making this video! I am extremely grateful. Would you have any suggestions on PETG settings for the K1 Max? We just got ours going yesterday and I attempted to run petg thru it. With some half-baked settings of my own using prusa and then when I attempted to use the creality slicer everything went to hell in a handbasket! It started doing all these zig-zag moves, the lidar went crazy and when it printed the first few layers it rose above the part and started printing in thin air and nothing was coming out! Creality tech support was "somewhat" helpful but now I'm afraid I made the wrong choice for our company. Can anyone say, "buyers remorse?" Thank you and the community for any suggestions.

      I have a K1 Max on the way so I'll be able to experiment with that soon. In the meantime I've been running carbon fiber PETG through my K1 successfully. I've been running very detailed parts so I have been focused on quality and low layer height, not really speed so my profile would likely be slow, but I can export it tonight and put it on my website for you if you're interested. Let me know

      @@EmbraceMaking Thanks again but I'm boxing the printer up for full refund this week. I didn't want to take the chance on disassembling the extruder and hotend to get to the stuck filament. The temp on the hotend somehow went to 260C while It was printing (with the creality slicer), the heat went straight up past the heat break and the filament stopped flowing. After aborting the print the filament cooled and I couldn't remove it. Took
      the nozzle off, heated it back up to 260 and tried to run the needle they provide but ran into a wall. ☹️ I've tried for 3 days now to get help from Creality and their tech support team has been terribly evasive. So I emailed them notifying that we will send back for a full refund. ☹️ Really wanted this printer to work for us..

    not a good experience like all these K1 videos. There must be some editing going on that we are not seeing. It's a nice looking
    machine, not too loud, prints fast but it keeps stopping horrible. Some must have a fix for this, anyone else have this issue? It is
    getting ridiculous. OMG!! I found out the problem!! The printer shakes alot, like alot, so I had 30% on the benchy so I leaned on
    the printer to stop lessen the vibration and the benchy finally finished! I needs weight on top of it, the first part of the benchy
    had the filament strings like you get but the last 30% of the print with my me holding it down, it did not stop and the remaining
    print was flawless, way better than the first 70%. So, stablelize the printer as best you can!! I am getting a 35 lb gym plate

I have seen videos with experienced people using the K1, but no one has done a video on the power requirement which makes a huge difference in the printing. You should try it.
