The video gives a quick run down on what is involved in importing and registering a Japanese car in Australia and then the supporting mods begin.

idk but I bought a s13 240sx it came with a 5 year unlimited mile bumper to bumper to warranty that's best car I ever owned I redlined that car everyday I drove it for 13 years and it was as strong when I sold it as first day I had it. absolutely amazing cars can't beat them up.

so glad the r32 is legal in states now. The r32 along with the MKIV supra has always been my dream cars. Id rather own those two over any super or hyper car made.
Same, the r32 is my favorite of the gtrs but they're so expensive and rare
ehh not really here in the states theres some importing companies that have car lots. i found quite a few for under 20k. most were around 13k-18k

That vantage is the most beautiful thing ever.
The s13, s14, and s15 were all sold, but NOT as silvias. they were 200sx and 240sx. The 180 was sold in Canada and some people have brought them over. We've never had the sileighty sadly either. The silvia had better suspension, brakes, exhaust, and other options that weren't released to america. None the less, America got basically the same car, just needs a few upgrades. Originally we weren't going to get the car at all, so we're lucky they changed their minds.

Ray Sanders Audio engineering sort of stuff I believe. Moog has a degree relating to music production etc. and sometimes links to ads/tv shows he's made original music for.
+Felix Garrixson MOOG and Marty. Both have full-time jobs Monday to Friday. MOOG is a music composer, musician and music producer. Marty is a sound engineer in a recording studio.
The car is bought in Japan, as well as associated costs shipped, quarantined and etc. To get an import on the road it has to be complianced in Australia, then you have registering fees etc. You can pick it up on a trailer but if you expect to drive on the road all those taxes,fee and etc are added on.

You can Buy a R34 GTR skyline in America, but it will cost you $55,000+. I'd rather buy an NSX for $28k
JDMHMONGBOY96 There are tons in canada for much cheaper. GT-T's are about $7500-10000. GTR's about $20000. buy one here and import to USA

Sadly, this does not apply to us over here in the United States. Our bullshit laws make it something of a cardinal sin to import any vehicle from what I can tell.

Also, a minor correction to my earlier statement, you CAN import vehicles legally without any bullshittery if the vehicle is at least 25 years old. Reason why we're seeing R32's in the states now.

That's not completely true though. It only passes federal laws if it's over 25 years old. The rest of it's legalities vary by state. Most people think that law meant they were free and clear but it has so many negatives. And the car still needs to be EPA certified in California which means you MAY have to get the ECU to de-tune the motor and you'll HAVE to slap 2-4 catalytic converters on it depending on what it's gross polution is before hand. There are companies that specialize in importing vehicles and that's probably easier although a little more expensive in the end but probably worth it.

I'm just gonna get a 91 Mk3 Supra Twin Turbo R instead so I don't have to wait years, especially since I don't trust any current presidential candidate to not make import laws more strict come January

You can already buy those in the US. Plus it's better to import since it's REAL JDM. The cars are also like half the price over there.

R Weber There are some that are street legal in the US. Best thing to do is to import it and register it as a show/track car, then wait until it's 25 years old.

Wish we had Silvias in the states. Took forever for us to get GTR's, and now that the Skylines are old enough, we can import them. Basically, our laws suck when it comes to cars and stuff.
Our laws in Straya are pretty shit too aye. Eg:
1. Exposed pod filters/cold air intakes are illegal ina most states because of excessive induction noises and a fire hazzard.
2. R32/3 gtst's are not p plate legal but r34gtt's are fine and they put down more power.
That's just off the top of my head too.

3:59 Not quite the same, it's a 54C engine as I learned recently.
It has a bit lower stock compression than the 53j but everything else seem to be a bit more heavy duty, and as such, ready for boost modification.
Too bad I won't fit bolt on in the common chassis.

It was a high flow cat, which is somewhat better than a normal one. you are correct that it kills some power gains. But where they live might require periodic emissision's tests which would require that it has a cat. OR some exhaust shops wont put on an after market exhaust that doesn't have a cat because it is illegal to drive on public roads without one.
you put the dump pipe and exhaust on the turbine side of the turbo... so the extreme pressures the dude talks about from the turbo (on his gasket shpeel) don't apply... the turbine will actually reduce the pressure.... the compressor is what increases the pressure. so after the turbine the exhaust pressure is lower than it would straight out of the engine...

@mydogzty FOB means Free On Board - the seller pays for getting the product to the shipping, you on the otherhand pay for the shipping and the delivery to you. there is also CIF wich means Cost, Insurance and Freight. there the seller pays for the delivery to the ship, the shipping, but you pay for the shipping from the ship to your house.

Fun story, my dad pretty much bribed a guy he knew who worked in selling Japanese imports right after the fall of the soviet union. It was the first he car he ever had that wasn't utter garbage. It was 6th gen Corona.
depends on the car, i pretty much did what they did and went there to buy the cars. the 3 cars i bought were a 2000 supra ($13500+4500 shipping) 1990 skyline ($6000+1000 shipping and a 2001 rx-7 ($10300+1450 shipping)
I have a question. After you buy & pay for shipping, do you have to pay for other things right away or can you like pay it at a time?
That's around say 5-6 grand for the car then a further 5-6 grand before they could even drive it and thats before the mods they did, so these guys went to japan to buy a car that would have cost roughly the same amount over here. You can pick up second hand S15's for around 10-12 grand saving you the added cost of a return plane ticket to japan. And isn't that 180sx the same 180 used in the build a drift car special ??

probably but it would cost a lot more because longer shipping, insurance, the stuff MCM talked about and getting the dash converted to left hand drive

I would love to have an s15 of my own in the states the alternative is to just throw in an sr20 or preferably rb26 in an s14 and then convert the front end to install s15 headlights

the ones in japan are on the right and so are the ones in Australia. you'd have to get that converted. and it's a much longer shipment all the way to canada.
