    ‪@Platinumracingproducts‬ have been working on a Rb26 cast block for a while now, and the first full size prototypes have come out of the mould, so we thought we would give everyone an update on progress. With new blocks from Nissan essentially non-existent, this will not only allow for a new block, but one that is far superior in strength and oil flow.

    Awesome. I would recommend a chat with legend pattern maker Peter White dolman pattern making . He used to have the Leyland p76 patterns all carved in wood in his ws . These are now on display at the Gilbert motor museum in Strathalbyn . Peter has made patterns for a huge list of industries. Including ROH , VN and corolla side mirrors you all know. And many more. Worth the chat. But full credit to Australian automotive engineering keep it up.

    Herman,
    HKS have introduced Pre-Chamber (TJI) onto a std 05U head couple years ago (Heritage program) claiming 600hp 5L/100km on a hks 2.8l 8.7:1 CR
    On SAU someone has claimed its a non std head that HKS have cast, just to install TJI for marketing purposes
    Others claim its a simple bolt on M12 retrofit on a std 05u head, no secret HKS castings
    Will we see TJI in an RB one day given its massive adv for eg f1 1600cc 19:1CR 55psi 35:1AFR 850+bhp and the engineers say TJI plays a MASSIVE role in this by reducing knock, consistent accurate flame propagation & cobustion process etc etc
    Or is GTSboy on SAU right and TJI it never going to happen on HKS's secret cast rb26 head they done for marketing purposes?

    • @JH-jo9wt
      @JH-jo9wt 3 місяці тому +6

      Yes id like to know too
      Pre chamber means no knock big boost high comp on shit fuel -win win win win

    • @crd-nz_001
      @crd-nz_001 3 місяці тому +1

      First off, No.
      Pre chambers help in cruise mode where in the pre chamber an a/f ratio can be reached that will burn (typically 14.7:1 - Stoic) yet the overall combustion chamber a/f is very lean. (+24-1) This system is used on Mazdas SkyActive modules.
      This system is incapable of producing large power numbers as the entire chamber needs a more homogeneous mix of fuel, not just a small pre chamber. Check out how Ford use a combination of direct injection and port injection. Cruise uses the DI, where the demand for more power turns on the PI. No pre chambers here, just 12:1CR, and a very clever combustion chamber design.
      F1 or not, 35:1a/f, 55psi and 19:1CR all sounds great in theory. However, nothing burns that lean. Even with a pre chamber. And if it did work, one spot of the head would get very hot, just like a Rotary and its hot/cold sides. Expansion problems would be bad as one spot on the head gets hotter than the rest. A recipe for cracking, or warping.
      One day it might be possible, but there are a great many more leaps in both fuel and combustion technology to get to those numbers.

    • @dangreen6321
      @dangreen6321 3 місяці тому +3

      @@crd-nz_001 Well technically your right it was theory.
      I take it your not a fan of F1 or been following the ICE regs since the sport went turbo/hybrid.
      Here are some facts:
      Mercedes was running 14:1 CR in 2014, 18:1 CR in 2017 when they relaxed to the 105l/ph fuel flow
      I just said 19:1 CR to be conservative
      Honda was running 40:1 AFR but was having issues and found power/reliability/fuel saving at 34 or 35:1 with 16:1 cr i believe (ill find you the video if you like?)
      That one day of might being possible happened about ten yrs ago with 14:1 @55psi in 2014 with Lewis/Nicos engine
      I guess for unintiated this would sould like theory but the technology has moved so far on from what your talking about which is the late 90s Di/Pi of Uwe Ostmann owner of Xtreme Di and Bosch/Audi LMP genius had ever created with piezo DI, so things "do" burn that lean.
      This is before F1 went E10 btw
      The added precision of TJI means you have more ignition and combustion stability bc u can precisely control ignition
      Iit allows for a more reliable and consistent flame propagation & combustion process and reducing knock in lean burning condition. One of the F1 AMG engineers said the main factor of achiecing over 50% BMEP was TJI !!!
      850+bhp from 1600cc?
      Id say thats pretty capable of producing large power
      HKS are claiming 600hp annd 5l/100km fuel efficiency on a 8.6CR 77.7m stroke on a 86mm piston on 98 tuned on a fcon v all with TJI
      Imagine telling nissans enigneers they'll get that when designing the head in 87' just from TJI and 25 frame turbos
      They probably would have had the exact same reaction you did
      The only negative ive read they dont like being below 0c

    • @dangreen6321
      @dangreen6321 3 місяці тому +3

      Few things
      *105kg/hour - max fuel allowed for ICE
      18:1 cr is a limit that has been set by the FIA, i just thought 19:1 bc they 14:1 in 2014 and 18:1 in 2017, i was being conservative when i guessed 19:1 7yrs later
      From Mahle - This system is compatible with conventional gasoline aftertreatment systems. In the ‘Active’ configuration a 2nd low-flow direct injector is incorporated into the pre-chamber assembly. This allows fuelling to be accurately, and independently, controlled in both the pre-chamber and the main chamber, enabling homogeneous ultra-lean combustion in modern gasoline engines, where mixtures leaner than λ=2 can be ignited while retaining stability.
      One of the reasons FIA went this direction is "it achieves reductions in engine-out NOx emissions by more than 99% in the ultra-lean area"
      MAHLE Jet Ignition (MJI) youtube vid
      Linkedin - Cedric Libert - some cool articles
      MAHLE Jet Ignition Active [PDF; 1269 KB]
      Now that shit is all boring what is cool for us is that HKS have incorporated it into an RB28 wih pretty amazing results with what "looks" like a retrofit on a std 05u head. When you incorporate ethanol λ=3 your at 44:1 on gas and 30:1 on e85 and you can up the comp significantly. F1s now mandated E10 maybe thats how Honda hit 40:1 before settling on 34:1🤷🏻‍♂
      HKS ADVANCED HERITAGE - RB26 - Concep YT vid 1m47s
      some knuckleheads on SAU are claiming HKS have cast a special new 05u cylinder head to incoorporate this TJI - your not claiming that are you?
      dont you think this is cool as a die hard RB fan?

      @@petkokrushev3840 Nah billet is way stronger and way lighter almost 50% 30kgs
      Athough this casting is going to be rated for over 3k bhp
      Billet has thermal expansion issues without getting technical. You need to heat it up first if you live in cold climates etc, not an issue in Sydney. This PRP block acts like a regular factory cast iron block with the simplicity and convinience that brings with massive hp capacity for a way cheaper price than a billet. Now that this is out every single person with a built RB not running billet is better off just swapping out all the internals into one of these for piece of mind cranks rods piston etc, and it doesnt matter what size u want to run or you currently have either 2.6-3.6

    Herman, I need your expertise on my build I'm trying to do, I have a r33 gts4 s2 4dr(gtr 4wd/2wd drivetrain from factory), I'm wanting to use the prp block and head for my build but use a nitto 2.8l stroker kit and I'm just trying to figure all the details like the buckets and cams and possible upgrades like the 4wd sump(I don't want to go dry sump if I can avoid it) my hp goal would be 750hp in 4wd but have all my parts 1000hp capable, hope you see this

      @@MotiveVideo I see, my bad for not getting the point of it. I thought the purpose of it made are not just for the one who needs block replacement but also include that it might be used for improving handling by reducing block weight. Like a B58 6 port for instance, although I haven't seen one cracking above 1500hp let alone 2000+hp, it's a quite crazy considering it's cast aluminium block.
      That's why I was wondering it would be crazy if 2000+hp could be achieved using cast aluminium using current tech and PRP's expertise on RB.
      I hope it's lighter by a lot than nissan's original block although it's made from cast iron using PRP's expertise on how to bulletproofing the RB. I can't wait for the next update. Cheers
