You are very intelligent and these people that criticized you are arm chair critics and most have never had any experience in anything. I think they go from blog to blog with nothing better to do. Gets under my skin! Carry on leader, l learn a lot from you and your wife.

Nothing like a wood stove, we use to always have water pot on your stove as a kid because it would help with keeping the air moist. Leo is a smart kitty..:D

I want a cast iron tea pot for our wood stove! We just have a pot of water on the stove to help with humidity, but a cast iron tea pot would be even more convenient. I’ve seen a BUNCH of cast iron pots and pans, but never a tea pot. I’m gonna keep my eyes peeled for it! 👀

Nothing like wood heat...at least for me. Some people complain it’s so much work ie. Hauling etc. wood and dirty from the ash... for me it’s worth it 100%... living in the NE we use it to heat our home all winter long even though we have an oil furnace as well...and having the piece of mind when the power goes out adds value as well. Had to be without it for a few days and missed it so much...it really is the heart of our home.

Make sure to save that ash for Elizabeth's garden! :)
Garlic, chives, leeks, lettuces, asparagus and stone-fruit trees love a little scoop here & there. Even roses tend to like it if the PH in the soil isn't quite right.
ETA: I love the music in today's video.

I love your wood stove, and you did a wonderful job of explaining everything. Also, as you said, you'd pretty much explained all that in your original installation video. Sometimes I feel like people just look at titles, and don't actually listen to videos. I see so many questions being asked over and over on everyone's videos, that were already answered. Thank you for your patience! As for Leo, I've always loved the pictures of him by the fire. I, certainly, never questioned his safety. Just thought how warm and cozy he looked. I feel like anyone asking that must have never owned a cat. They're instinctively naturally knowledgeable about survival. Loved this video! Love your stove! Thank you!

Thanks for this video. We have a wood stove as well. We would have frozen when we just went through this last ice, snow and sleet storm that we suffered here in Texas. With rolling blackouts for 5 days, electricity off more than it was on, we would have froze. We are all electric except for our wood stove, we were lucky and blessed people to have it in our home. We have always enjoyed having and using the wood stove, but after 40 years we truly needed it. Great information. God Bless. ♥️😘🇺🇸

Thanks for your thorough review on this type of wood stove.I watched the installation and reviews and answered all my questions.I think opening the wall behind the stove will help throw heat in the hallway.I like the fact you used double wall pipe and must admit i initially thought it was close to the wall.I didn’t comment until now and heard and saw your specs, giving you benefit of doubt.I feel people should do their homework first like you mentioned.Im glad you’re satisfied with the installation and will certainly influence my decision when i purchase a stove.Much appreciated, thanks again.

I've considered a stove ever since you demonstrated your tiny stove. I appreciate your thorough discussion and watched your install from 9 months ago. Every summer I want one for my winters. My thermostat can be set at 72 for hotwater baseboard/ gas fuel furnace, yet the house us too cold. I have xa 50's Cape that has never been updated with insulation under the vinyl siding. My heat bill is so high. The cost to replace it would be as much as a wood stove. If I go with a pellet, it would have to go on an outside wall. Then, I would have to give up a piece of furniture and plug it in as well. I wouldn't get the heat like from a wood stove. I live in a thickly settled area, and the gram emmissions would have to be around 1 or under, but no higher than 1. You're both so nice to visit and listen to. Thanks for sharing. I learn so much from you Elizabeth and Bill.

I’m excited to get my Grizzly Cubic mini wood stove installed in my camper. I’m recovering from nose surgery, but hopefully this weekend or so I can cut the hole in the roof and get it installed 🙌🏼 It would have been a life saver when it got in the negative teens. I had to stay with my parents because even with my electric heat on full blast it wouldn’t get warmer than 34°F.

Our wood stove was installed during our build. We paid extra for an electric fan that hangs on the bottom rear of our stove. We discovered that the electric fan was useless when we had no electricity during an ice storm. I purchased an Eko fan and we have never used the electric fan since. That little fan really moves the air. If you come out of our bedroom door you can definitely feel the warm air from the living room and we have a 20 foot hallway and the bedroom door is around the corner. We have been using the same fan for over 3 years now.

I have a fan like that and its really worthless. I have had it a year and now it makes noise, so I am going to just toss it. But some people have great ones. Have a wonderful week. Our home is around 1250 sq.ft. We do not have any other heat source, we rely on wood heat only. We replaced a great 1980's Earth Stove with a Vermont Castings Defiant; too much stove for 1250'. We love the stove and its quality, but wish we had bought an Encore and even smaller. Even one this size might have been better.

hello! so we have a Vermont Castings Aspen 1920 model, which is the exact same body as this stove, but the only difference seems to be that it was designed before the new EPA regulations so the intake damper is actually controlled by a lever, and not self regulated. its great because we can open it enough to keep the flames going even with the front door shut. gets wicked warm and allows for nice ambiance, but we got it because of watching your video on the C3. thanks for the content!

I have to do the same thing on startup with the door. It is not a design flaw. The stove needs to get up to temperature before its in "run" mode with the auto damper. I love mine. Works perfect for what I use it for. Great video. It will go 8 hours with enough coals for an easy refire.

I just had this stove installed last week, 7/13/22. I figured since it’s summer and all my windows are open I would do an initial burn off. I tried twice but when I closed the door the fire would smolder out. I’m feeling very frustrated thinking I made a poor choice in buying the aspen, but after doing some research I found your video and now I can’t wait to follow your advice and keep the door open a little to get some good coals first.

Isn't it funny how things evolve??? I grew up having to get warm by the fireplace or wood stove and cooling with ceiling fans........we got away from that , maybe in the 60s and 70s....now everyone wants to go back to that and our houses are much more insulated and and electric heat and air are easier to attain.....Here in the deep south, we had an ice storm in 1994 and we were without electricity in areas for months, because all our homes had electric heat ...Since then the power company has been cutting the tree limbs away from power lines and in this latest winter storm we never lost our electric heat.....Lesson learned...

I'm sure someone else might have thought of this but anyway, when we lived in a very nice old home it had the normal doorway but it also had a panel above the door way that was nice looking but had slight gaps in it in order to create airways?? I hope this make sense?? Great video again!! Love your warm lol and kind videos!! I recently watched the kitty song video again!! Have a blessed day!!

Good real-life commentary! We have exactly that same heat board on our wall!!! Could use one of those fabric bag though, as I am disabled & currently we are pulling wood in on a sled, which takes up lots of space (a real tripping hazard).

Glad to hear that it worked out well and now you know what it can do just incase there's an emergency.
