    OMG 20/10, seriously such a great video it looks so freaking good! Im so glad you were able to retain the dust shields like you wanted! Mine and the ebrake are LONG GONE 😂. You're AMAZING thank you so much I am truly honored to be able to contribute and be a small part of your build, thank youuuuu!! ❤😁
    2 things:
    1. For anyone interested about the reliability of this brake kit, my "cheap" version was installed when I did my 5,600 mile road trip across America and back for SIV and had ZERO issues with it.
    2. For anyone questions if you need a different brake master cylinder or proportioning valve.. I have this PMM kit on the rear of my MK3 and the mercedes brake kit on the front, with the original 1988 brake master cylinder and proportioning valve, deleted ABS module and a hydraulic handbrake..For me, the brakes feel FANTASTIC and I dont feel the need to change the master or proportioning valve

      Why make it out of aluminium? No certification body like TUV would allow this. In Europe we can buy certified steel adapter for the front Mercedes mod. This adapter would never be approved in Germany or Sweden (and I suspect a lot more).
      Also, how much of the rear rotor will be without pad engagement? Looks like a smaller rotor would be beneficial for this caliper?

    • @PoorManMods
      @PoorManMods 6 місяців тому +1

      @@flasksval high quality aluminum is the industry standard here in America, getting things certified by governing body is cost an insane amount of money. Having a larger rotor allows for even more heat absorption. The pad has 100% engagement which is most important

    • @flasksval
      @flasksval 6 місяців тому

      @@PoorManMods I can understand your thinking. My main worry is material fatigue, then again we do use brake calipers of aluminium everyday so you are probably right not to worry. It just wont make it possible for us to register our cars with the mod here. In Sweden we can register brake adapters without certification if the materials are approved (6 mm steel). Heat absorption in the rear seems like a risk worth taking to get more of an OEM look, better rim compatibility and probably a lower price. This could be obtained if you lowered you adapter 7mm and used brake disk Toyota 42431500-70 or 50 60 80 30 (310mm). Compare, Mintex MDC1306 to MDC2637

    Oh my GOD, I have no idea Faye has an MK3!!! I bought mine 2.5 years ago (88 NA) and I IDOLIZE that damn car. It's gotten me into cars/Toyota in general and taught me so many things working on her. It's an unbelievably good looking car like nothing else on the road now and the amount of attention she gets it not something I've ever experienced.
    I thought this job was too complex after researching it for a long time, but your video is going to help a LOT of people. The MK3 community is amazing and those in the know are aware how incredible and unique this beautiful and luxurious beast is!

    Hey Faye, excellent video the rims and the brakes look killer. I had an 88 supra and I was shocked when I did the rear brakes seeing that drum brakes set up parking brake I’ve never seen anything like that at the time.🙂 Wilwood makes a beautiful looking master cylinder with a proportioning valve. Not sure how budget friendly it is. but what certainly looks to be a substantial break upgrade dialing them in with a proportioning valve sounds like a really good idea. Also seeing that procedure would make a great video. Have a great one is always.🐔🐔🐔👍

    Faye, I don't know if you heard or not, but a professor went to the university of nevada and got pretty pissed off. i recall a similar but not identical story you told of being discriminated against when trying to get a job and that is because you are a female. he was an old man. and people are sick of this. it is absolutely ridiculous for people in automotive to think that ur not strong enough to do automotive repair or that you would be a "distraction" to the other employees. u are qualified to do the job. u see my picture. i am a very strong man and i have witnessed in my life how physically strong females are, too. i don't know what planet these men are living on that they don't think females are strong. i've witnessed females doing the same kind of work men do in automotive. they are not weak. and just because a man is old doesn't mean he can no longer teach. he was not hired despite the fact that he was very qualified just like u were very qualified when u applied to those jobs. please make a video talking about workplace discrimination because these ridiculous morons don't seem to get that if they keep doing stuff like that, then people are not going to take well to it. thanks.

Not through the pedal but in the steering wheel. dealership says we need front brakes and rotors. I think they have lost their mind. Again it may happen 3-5 times a week and severe. And when we replace tires go back factory with the Michelin or do you have a recommendation. Absolutely learn from your videos and we never miss AGG! Thanks and you Rock!! 😎

    So you were a Tech at one time. You seemed like it. Your level of knowledge is that of a Auto Tech.
    I used to work for Jeep Dodge Chrysler for about 8 years. Now i work at Autozone because its an easier low stress job. Maybe ill go back to wrenching one day. God knows i can used the better wage.

    Lol been there with the rusted over rotors a few times with my e30s and E36s. Do I need to turn in my socket set and driver's license if I tend to solve this problem with a hammer and using the transmission as my brakes while driving on the rusty rotors until they're worn down to the cooling fins?

    Faye---that's a lot of unsprung weight there, is the handling and 'feel' adversely affected by that ? ? ?
