People I've asked if they liked Radiohead, said their music is depressing. I don't know why... their music makes me feel absolute bliss in my most depressed of states.
yes
Their music is exhilarating
Same model as Lana del Rey , sadness made pretty
Yesss. I love Radiohead. I remember when I first heard the daily mail by them I loved it. I sent it to my friend and he said “wow that was really depressing” and I was really surprised that never occurred to me haha
Beautiful Sadness
I wish I had the vocal range to sing the first part in the lower octave because the “beat goes round and round” octave change is such a fundamentally beautiful aspect of the structure of this song
Exactly me. I can sing it just fine, but only if I’m singing in the same octave throughout the entire song. But then that second part doesn’t have the same impact!
I have the opposite problem lmao. Can sing the lower octave just fine but then have to really strain to go up the octave.
i wish i could sing 💀
I wish I was special 🗿
People, it’s only a one octave jump, so you can easily sing it-you just need to find the right key for your voice. If you’re a woman or a man with a higher voice you may need to play it in a higher key; if you’re a man with a lower range, you’ll need a lower key. But I can pretty much guarantee you, if you can sing at all, you can sing this song if it’s in the proper key for you. I doubt there is a person on earth whose voice cannot cover a one octave range.
This song hits a very serious piece of me.
Same here
I know the felling
it makes me want to both cry and dance
Me too But unfortunately Thom can’t sing it very well live then or now
I love johnny, he's like a wizard behind the instruments
This performance has such a raw and uncut feel. They all look relaxed as if they are welcoming us to their studio via the song.
2:29
Thom: the weed goes round and round
Johnny: wha-
GAAARRGGGGAAANNNNTTTAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGTTTT
Borra tu mamada, man, eso nunca pasó xd
This comment gives me a Cheshire Crat grin.
Words are *blunt* instruments
Shouldn't you be collecting carts?
normal singer: I'm gonna use a delay pedal
thom: im ok 3:11
He does that a lot, check out Bodysnatchers live
For the effect he’s going for most singers wouldn’t use a delay pedal
2:45 till the end- Yorke gets into "the zone". That, my friends, it's beauty unmatched.
How he has any breath left at 3:18 I have no idea.... amazing
+DG Barclay agreed. He's amazing
God bless the you tubes

I come back every now and then, I’ve read some of the comments that were posted here years ago. Whoever you are, and wherever you are now, I hope you’re all doing great.
All the love
-Guillermo.
World needs more people like you, that’s so sweet of you
You’re epic. Hope you’re doing great.
you too.
your automatically an awesome guy cause your name is guillermo bro. seriously dope name.
very kind of you ! take care everyone
Thom was playin the hell out of the guitar....everybody was playing at an EXTREMELY HIGH LEVEL.....I am totally blown away
This is the song that made me fall in love with their music.
The only band that makes me dance uncontrollability like I don't care
Me too. And makes me feel like my best moments are gone.... jaja
Check out Mars Volta
Theres actually a few band that do that for me, but If i was taking one band to the next life, it would be RH, no doubt.
Imagine uncontrollably dancing to Everything in it’s right place
@@TheTheTheTheTheThe or exit music for a film 🥶
Before you run away from me
Before you're lost between the notes
The beat goes round and round
The beat goes round and round
He's just in the mode. He is a real artist who has true emotions and is feeling the music.
How you doin
How you been
love Radiohead but wish they made some happy music one of these decades. Thom yorke emotional range is rather narrow in the grand scheme of things
I really like the "she looks back and you look back" part of this song for some reason
God, what I wouldn't do for Radiohead's creative song writing ability. So tight.
the bonesauce I sincerely second that.
4 years late but is that a fucking killer bean pfp
@@skonkiesskonkies82114 years late but was it?
So you would do anything?
If that’s the case… Take action. Practice. Improve your skills. It’s been 9 years, but hey, you still have time.
Yorke sounds completely different during the first half of this song
Domonkos Pászthoryfanboi
+Shawnee Davis Ikr like by calling him just Thom THEN it means you're a real fan. Stupid.
@@domonkospaszthory7059 Ackchyually, it's just "thm".
@@k-leb4671 Tom York
@@whydiddaddy7163 this is cursed
it's amazing how thom can keep changing his shirt like that and perform at the same time
ToastDerp That's the dumbest thing i have ever read....😂😂😂😂

@@barb2162 lighting sucks, right?
Super Thom lol
It’s almost like lighting exists and different camera angles exist too :0
this song is like the monalisa of radiohead
A really distinctive, beautiful and underrated AF song. Someday, this song may be remembered as a work of art and would be tried to be interpret by musicians and many others. Fuck those 2 negative reviews of In Rainbows by Dusted Magazine and The Wire. In Rainbows may be by far the most artistically accomplished work by Radiohead.
+piki mint oh fuck yeah!
in 2012, composer Steve Reich took this song and Everything in It's Right Place and composed a piece for an ensemble of classical instruments, check it out, its called Radio Rewrite
lucas naranjo cheers.
Radiohead cuttooth
seriously now, this is one of the best songs ever
I love this version.. I love that the 2 or 3 of them could play it in a subway station.
for everyone's knowledge: the great Jonny Greenwood is playing brilliant the "ondes martenot" which is very rare and unique instrument, used mostly by the great french composer Olivier Messiaen. Bravissimi!! I'm so looking forward to come to your concert in Milan in June!
I'm 17 right now, and it's Crazy to think that you wrote this down when i was only 3
@@gabrielvitor3234 right
insane.
No fucking way, this comment is 15 years old
i was also 3 wth
Jonny and Thom finally asking Ed to jam with them
i've heard this song hundreds of times, and every time it takes me to a whole different place.. never get tired of hearing it!
this is one of those songs that you dont want to end.
perfection.
I like Thom's voice in this version.
So tired but still so admirable.
I really love the Scotch Mist version.
this place is on a mission
I really hope Radiohead ends up like Rush and literally makes music for 40+ years and the all retire together on good terms.
I'd say that's what's going to happen.
So far so good
I have a suspicion that they’re going to release one more final 10th album to end it off.
They’ve given us 9 albums of great music, they’re not exactly obligated to release any new material, but it would be great.
For now it seems to be going good, we will see I guess.
@@donutsbyjdilla9708 They said they have no plan to stop.
Ngl this comment had me crying.
Beautifully dark, hauntingly melancholic chords paired with Thom’s effortlessly gritty voice. This song is so damn effective. Thanks Radiohead 🫶
Its very reassuring to know that I'm not alone in my music taste. Besides my one other friend who loves this song, its awesome to know that there's over a million other people who appreciate it too. Sometimes the world doesn't suck.
This is my favourite song ever, by any artist.
6 years later and I still agree :)
@@OtaConnor haha same
Running, driving....
Ahhh Ahhh ahhhhhhhhhhhh
The Weed goes 'round and 'round...
thank you!
you frog hitler?
😐
When the guitar starts playing I'm shaking my head exactly like Thom does without even thinking about it. So damn good.
the first meeting of these band members and their art should be one of the most important events in music history
2:30 "The weed goes round and round!"
I'm from Colombia, and it was really sad when they toured in Latin America and did not come here. I hope this new tour bring those guys here, because every time I imagine myself in a Radiohead concert, tears come to my eyes. Radiohead is so amazing, a truly artistic group
+Daniel Casas Orozco Sad news m8
Same, I'd really be pleased to see them playing at my country, Peru. Maybe Tour new dates for 2017.
Come to Mexico :D Youre all welcome unless youre argetinian

Love your photo
this is a haunting song. I keep it on repeat for years now.
Greenwood on the ONDES MARTENOT!!!
w00t.
this is pure bliss. Watching this for years and it's always amazing
Just as you take my hand
Just as you write my number down
Just as the drinks arrive
Just as they play your favorite song
As your bad day disappears
No longer wound up like a spring
Before you had too much
Come back in focus again
The walls are bending shape
They've got a Cheshire cat grin
All blurring into one
This place is on a mission
Before the night owl
Before the animal noises
Closed circuit cameras
Before you're comatose
Before you run away from me
Before you're lost between the notes
The beat goes round and round
The beat goes round and round
I never really got there
I just pretended that I had
Words are blunt instruments
Words are sawed-off shotguns
Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out
Before you run away from me
Before you're lost between the notes
Just as you take the mic
Just as you dance, dance, dance
Jigsaw falling into place
So there is nothing to explain
You eye each other as you pass
She looks back, you look back
Not just once
Not just twice
Wish away the nightmare
Wish away the nightmare
You've got a light, you can feel it on your back
A light, you can feel it on your back
Jigsaw falling into place
This song is in top 5 0f radioheads songs!!
1:59
ed looking confused in just a fuckin mood
"Cheshire crat grin" even his mistakes are cool
This song....is everything...
"Words are blunt instruments, words Ones sawed off shotguns" - One of my favorites songs ever. Definitely on my top 10,if it's even possible,it surely is!
This song touches the soul, the Ondes Martenot is ethereal and Radiohead is unmatchable.
Always coming back to these sessions
Yeah, immersing yourself in your music is the key to great live music. Being able to truly express yourself through your music is a gift.
i never get tired off listening to this version...superb
love love love this song, this album, this band
They're a virtually flawless band.
just brilliant! I love this song!! seeing them working off each other in a studio environment makes me love it even more
This is probably the best clip of the whole entire interweb!
Best band of the world
Love this live version so much!!!!
Radiohead is the best band that cover radiohead's songs, no one tops them
I'm much too glad to be alive to watch this band live! They're among one the greatest, and every one of their songs proves it, just like this one.
And I’ll never get to see them live cuz I discovered em last year…
Just got real concerned when I saw the uploaded “12 years ago” under the video. 😨
I swear this is one of the most beautiful Radiohead songs ever, Radiohead is one of the most talented and creative bands I've ever heard.
One of my favorite Radiohead songs
so much energy in a melancholy feeling.
There are few arts and musicis that make me feel I have a soul. When it comes to Radiohead's songs, I just can't run away from that!
by far the best version...frigging awesome
this version is so dope
AMAZING!
Great Job !
I love this song , its perfect ...
Really good , really good !
Absolutely brilliant 👏 👏 👏
Even in 200 years we'll still be looking back at Radiohead and learning things.
embracing the dark side of this song, dope
Scotch Mist was just what this series of videos were called. There were all originally one long webcast.
My favorite song, of all bands. I love Radiohead.
If I saw Radiohead perform this live, I wouldn't be complaining about the quality. Better than anything I could do - even in my dreams.
A fascinating insight into a studio performance. Who cares if it was the final take that made the record?
For me it's the best version they did.
I'm from Singapore, I'm a big fan and there's alot of other radiohead fans all around me. To me their music always bring me to another realm, it helps me realize how weightless my troubles and my weary life could be. It will be great if their music could be experienced by more people from this part of the world. Therefore I just hope that they will be able to perform live in Singapore.
Scotch mist is such an underrated gem...... Thx RH, we had a blast through the years!
pure musical genius
12 years hence and I've acknowledged this is my favorite RH song (from Lucky)
special song in my playlist. it's strange and beautiful. thank you guys!
Can't stop listening :S Brilliant piece of work
Tucked away in the beautiful annals of UA-cam history 😊
Tristan Freides and here we are now
I agree 100%...nobody does it like these guys
It’s just unreal how good they are, I owe them so much
i never ever tire of hearing this...
love this version, especially the bit @01:59
i play with myself to these videos
😮
Damn
Spent a lot of time drumming to this years ago. I love the rift.
i think this is my all time fav, AMAZING
Thom and Jonny finally inviting Ed to Jam
I will always think that I dig Radiohead more than everyone else in the world. I feel kind of lonely. I REALLY feel their music.
Henrique Nézio We all do.
+Henrique Nézio you are not alone!! I fucking love them!!! This sons best song ever made!!! Hands down!!
+Henrique Nézio Not alone, my friend.
definitely not alone in this!
I only have one. I guess I'm not a real fan!
greatest album and band out there
Best song of Radiohead, this song is perfect.
that intro was dope
The more i listen the more I realize it's probably a good thing they don't perform this one live. The low octave vocals are probably a big struggle for Thom to do.
Che bomba ragazzi.. Grazie di esistere
they r even more amazing to see live then their album versions which is a rare thing only great bands like radiohead can accomplish
Come on and let it out!!!!!
Radiohead is perhaps the best "how it started... how it's going" turnaround there ever was. To think that they went from "FAT.UGLY.DEAD" to this is still mind-boggling.
One of my favorites by Radiohead. Learned it on piano when I was 13.
Can not stop listening to this
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.. God, I love you.
I love you 😍😍
Alberto Monreal Don't we all love him? ;)
Same here
Always and forever.
I think the same
